This video explains how to effectively provide CPR using compressions only and no rescue breaths. The risk of disease transmission is extremely low while performing CPR, especially with a barrier device. Traditional CPR (30 compressions and 2 breaths) is the best option for people who have been trained in CPR. If you do not have a barrier device, or have not been trained to perform traditional CPR, compression only CPR is an alternative. It will move the oxygenated blood through the body to the vital organs until help arrives.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) combines chest compressions with ventilations to assist a casualty who is unresponsive and not breathing or breathing ineffectively. Studies show that CPR followed by defibrillation within 3–5 minutes of cardiac arrest can dramatically improve the survival rate.
