Fishing for Cutbow Trout
The best cutbow trout I’ve ever landed, by far. Didn’t even see the take. I went to recast and was surprised to find this big boy on the hook.
Cutbows are a hybrid of cutthroat and rainbow. While they have the coloring of a rainbow, the orange slits below the mouth are the classic indication of a cutthroat.
This was late in September and it was still warm enough for wetwading.

AMAZING! Angels Landing in Zion National Park.
Angels Landing hike in Zion National Park
This is a must for any avid hiker. I have to say however that it is quite disturbing to see the number of people who are inexperienced and/or ill-prepared. Any hike that has the potential for death needs to be treated with better respect. It seemed to me that a lot of people were out there who shouldn’t have been. If you want to face your fear of heights pick something a little more tame to start on.
Most of all, the ascent, as with most hikes, is not the hardest aspect. The descent is! If you can barely make the ascent you’ll be in hell during the descent. Watch the videos out there and make sure you are okay with what you’ll be getting into.
It’s simply gorgeous, so don’t let being scared interfere with the beauty of this outing.
