Virtually every...mass shooting...every....circumstance where large number of people have been victimized or lost. I've spoken with them. I learned a long time ago, what you all learn in your life. When someone is going through something that is beyond their comprehension that they never thought they's have to go through. If they see someone who they think understand, have maybe been through something, not the same, but similar, it gives them some sense of hope. And I always get criticized, sometimes by my staff, because when I go to these events I stay. 3 or 4 hours. Answer all the questions. Because it matters. It matters a lot. And, look, some of you have gone through a hell of a lot more than I have gone through, and a lot more than other people have gone through. and you understand. It's just-- uh- people are looking for just something to grab. Something that gives them some sense, sense of hope. And that's- and if I can do a little bit of that, then you know, it's worth doing. >> REPORTER: People all over the region are upset about the Hospital and don't necessarily believe you or the Israelis that they didn't have anything to do with it. Do you have a message to the people in the streets? BIDEN: Well I can understand why in this circumstance they wouldn't believe. I understand that. And- but- uh- I would not - you notice I don't say things like that unless I have faith in the source from which I've gotten it. Our defense department says it's highly unlikely that it was Israelis and had it been a different footprint- and- had intercepted some- anyway- that's why you notice I didn't say it first, I wanted to make sure that I knew. And look- and I'm suggesting that Hamas deliberately did it either. It's that old thing, gotta know how to shoot straight. And it's not the first time Hamas has launched something that didn't function. So- I don't know all the detail, but I do know the people at the defense department that I respect and intelligence community that I respect say it is highly improbable that Israel did that.

Bennett: “I do also want to talk about this floating the narratives or the claims. There are no two sides to this hospital. Either it was bombed by Israel or it was targeted by someone else on the Palestinian side. And if it’s — if two people come and say one says it’s raining outside and the other said it’s dry, you don’t bring the quotes of both sides. You just goddamn open the window and look whether it’s raining or not. That’s what we did. And this hospital, in fact, it’s a parking lot, was hit definitely a hundred percent by Islamic Jihad barrage shot fired at 6:59 PM. We have three different videos from different angles showing it. We have the ballistics. We know that an Israeli bomb would have created a crater, which does not exist. We know that the propellant in the rocket, because it was a long-term rocket targeted for Israel, so a lot of that propellant was still in the rocket, which created a lot of fire. We have two Hamas nicks (ph) talking to each other and saying and admitting that it is from Islamic Jihad. So, Anderson, with all due respect, there aren’t two sides to this. Not everything is two sides. And I have a feeling that if it wasn’t the state of Israel, then I think the global media would have behaved very differently.” COOPER: “We’re simply saying we have not been able to independently verify the claims that that have being made. We have reported exactly what Israel has put forward and also that the U.S. Intelligence Community has backed up as well. And that certainly seems to be what President Biden has also been basing his assessment on. It’s what he said. Information from his own defense department, in addition to Israel’s presenting of evidence that takes the —“ [crosstalk] Bennett: “Anderson, I have to barge in here. I have to say something. I was in 9/11. I was in Manhattan when it happened. And if a day later, al-Qaeda would have said that it’s America who perpetrated it. No one would have quoted it al-Qaeda. No one would - and you didn’t have validation back then that it was al-Qaeda, but you knew it’s not America. And somehow there’s a double standard here. You had 30 hours to validate. We have all the information. Everything is transparent. For heaven’s sakes, to see the headline of The New York Times saying the Palestinians claim that Israel bombarded a hospital, we don’t do that. It’s the Palestinian who rape young girls. It’s the Palestinians who tear apart limbs. It’s the Palestinians who burn whole families and shoot five month old babies. It’s the Palestinians, for heaven’s sake, who kidnapped 84-year-old Holocaust survivors. It’s not the Israelis. This is not what Israel does. And you’ve had ample time, do your job and show the truth. There is moral clarity in the world. Not everything has two sides to it.” COOPER: “Naftali Bennett, I appreciate your time. PHILLIP: “As all of this kind of kicked off, you and several others of your colleagues released a statement calling on for a ceasefire in the region. But, I wonder, what is Israel supposed to do about Hamas after they’ve murdered, brutalized, abducted over a thousand of their citizens. Are they supposed to just do nothing?” Ocasio-Cortez: “Well, I think what is important to note about a ceasefire is that it’s not one-sided. Hamas has been sending thousands of rockets into Israel as well. And what is important for us to identify our goal in terms of what safety means, in terms of what defense means. And I think it —“ PHILLIP: “But, if I may, Congresswoman, I think the position from Israel’s perspective is that there is already an attack and Hamas already committed an attack. After that happened, do you really believe that they should not respond to that?” Ocasio-Cortez: “I think what is important, in terms of response, is Israel does have a right to self-defense. I think what we need to take a look at in this situation is if collective punishment qualifies as defense, if the blockade on water, food, electricity, if the dropping of white phosphorus, which is an indiscriminate weapon, qualifies. So, I do believe that there is a discussion to be had here. I don’t believe that an either/or approach is what is necessary, but we should identify what our goal, is which is the cooling of tensions in the region.” PHILLIP: “Well, Israel’s goal is to rid the region of Hamas. They have been very clear about that. And I certainly take what you are saying about the condition of Gaza right now for civilians who, as you point out, are not synonymous with Hamas. But for Israel to deal with Hamas, which is a force that is actually detrimental to Palestinians, how else are they supposed to address a violent militant, some say a terrorist group, other than to go in there and take them on directly?” Ocasio-Cortez: “Well, when we talk about going in there, I think we should also keep in mind President Biden’s statements as well about what the implications of a potential ground invasion would be. This is an inherently complex situation. I do believe that Hamas needs to be dealt with.” PHILLIP: “But how, I think, is what I’m trying to understand.” Ocasio-Cortez: “And I think what we’re trying to figure out right now is that this present situation of collective punishment and indiscriminate attack is one approach. But we are seeing that the issues and the complications of that approach now, can we target them in terms of intelligence? Is there precision? What are the options available are entirely up to the administration and for Israel to examine and explore.”

AL-HUSSEIN: “The first part of the question on the issue of refugees coming to Jordan, and I think I can quite strongly speak on behalf of not only of Jordan as a nation, but of our friends in Egypt, that is a red line because I think that is the plan by certain of the usual suspects to try and create de facto issues on the ground. No refugees in Jordan, no refugees in Egypt.”

>>HALEY: "I dealt with this at the United Nations. You’re going to hear all of those Arab countries vilify Israel for what’s about to happen. You’re going to hear all of them say, how dare you not do more for the Palestinian people? And you know what? We should care about the Palestinian citizens, especially the innocent ones, because they didn’t ask for this. But where are the Arab countries? Where are they? Where is Qatar? Where is Lebanon? Where is Jordan? Where is Egypt? Do you know we give Egypt over a billion dollars a year? Why aren’t they opening the gates? Why aren’t they taking the Palestinians? You know why? Because they know they can’t vet them, and they don’t want Hamas in their neighborhood. So why would Israel want them in their neighborhood? So let’s be honest with what’s going on. The Arab countries aren’t doing anything to help the Palestinians because they don’t trust who is right, who is good, who is evil, and they don’t want it in their country. So they’re going to come and blame America. They’re going to come and blame Israel. And don’t fall for it, because they have the ability to fix all of this if they wanted to. They have the ability to go in and tell Hamas right now to stop what they’re doing. They have the ability to tell Hamas to let those people out. But you know what? Qatar is going to continue to work with Hamas and their leadership. Iran is going to continue to fund all of this and not say anything. And who’s silent? Every one of those Arab countries are going to be silent. But expect for the finger to point to Israel, and the finger is going to point to Israel — to America.”

Wray: “In this heightened environment, there’s no question we’re seeing an increase in reported threats, and we’ve got to be on the lookout, especially for lone actors who may take inspiration from recent events to commit violence of their own. So I encourage you to stay vigilant, because as the first line of defense in protecting our communities, you’re often the first to see the signs that someone may be mobilizing to violence. I’d also ask you to continue sharing any intelligence or observations you may have. And on our end, we’re committed to doing the same, so that together, we can safeguard our communities.”

Ocasio-Cortez: “Our responsibility is to the stability and the security of the region. That means being able to support — not — support, yes, Israel and its defensive capacities, right, and its ability in that context, But it also means that the United States has a responsibility to ensure accountability to human rights, to prevent the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, and to ensure that horrors do not happen in the names of victims who do not want their tragedy used to justify further violence and injustice.”

Johnson: “There are a lot of people entering our southern border right now, thousands and thousands. It’s a hemispheric move north, bigger than anything we’ve ever seen. And the challenge for our Border Patrol for our Customs, for DHS, for the FBI, is to try to keep up. Unfortunately, as you know, the system is broken, it’s horribly backlogged. And there are a whole lot of people entering this country who we cannot identify.”

Blinken: “Tragically, the number of innocent lives claimed by Hamas’ heinous attacks continues to rise. Among those we now know that at least 25 American citizens were killed. We join families in Israel, in the United States, around the world in mourning their immeasurable loss.”

Biden: “I never really thought that I would see, have confirmed pictures of terrorists beheading children. I never thought I’d ever— anyway, but there are countries in the region that are trying to be of some help, including Arab nations. They’re trying to be of some help. So anyway.”

MITCHELL: “We now have the the mother back on — back on with us. We were going to ask you about what you’re saying to your boys. You were trying to keep them calm. Tell us about that conversation.” Israeli MOTHER: “Yeah, I was on the phone with them and trying to calm them down, saying, you know, the military is going to get there and safe and they’re in their home. This is what we always tell them. And then at approximately half past 8, they started hearing voices of the door breaking. They were with me on the phone, and I asked them to be quiet, to stay quiet. They were in a safe room, which is a bedroom of the eldest, who is 16, as I said, and about 10 minutes later I could hear people speaking in Arabic outside their door when they broke in, and the last thing I heard was the youngest, who is 12, saying, ‘I’m too young, don’t take me.’ And that was it. That was the last time I heard from them.” MITCHELL: “I am so sorry. We’re all thinking about you. Have you heard anything from the government?” Israeli MOTHER: “No, unfortunately, not yet. Well, the army is now getting in touch with families I know, and I’m keeping my hopes up that they’re alive and well. I know that their father and his spouse were taken also because we’ve seen one of the videos that Hamas put on, so we know that they’re alive, and I’m hoping that they’re with them. And as they took hundreds of children, babies, women and elderly people, some of them from the place I live in, I’m hopeful that they’re all together and that they have other people that they know around them to keep them safe and to give them a hug, and just come back home.” MITCHELL: “You know, I’m sure you want them to be with people they know so they’re not alone there. But what are your feelings about the attacks against Gaza right now? How can the government — “ Israeli MOTHER: “You’re looking for a symmetrical situation, and I must say, it isn’t. If you were dealing with of a war who is between two countries, countries don’t take children hostages, I’m sorry. It’s against the laws of war. It’s against humanity. It’s against anything that we all believe in. Every time we had missiles shot at us, I used to say to my children that they should be sympathetic towards the children of Gaza because they suffer a lot more than they do. I’m not sure I still believe in it now. And I must say, the only worry I have now from the bombings in Gaza is the fact that my children are there. And I can’t be sympathetic anymore. I can’t be sympathetic to animal human beings — well, they’re, not really human beings — who came into my house, broke everything, stole everything, took my children from their patrons, and took them to the Gaza Strip. Israel never done that and it will never do. So, there is no symmetry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for being so emotional.” MITCHELL: “Do you want the government to put the the top priority on getting the hostages out before they retaliate?” Israeli MOTHER: “I want my government to put it on the first priority and I want the world to put it on the first priority. I think any mother in the world should try and imagine her children in that situation and then think again. That’s all I want. I want the world to ask them to release children, to release elderlies, to release the civilians they took. There is no reason to hold them there. They are not soldiers. They are not part of the war and they have nothing to do with it. We gave them work permits. We really believed that this was the way to move their economy, to reconnect these two so-called countries. This is not the way a country behaves. This is a way that a terror organization behaves. I’m sorry. So, again, there’s no symmetry.” MITCHELL: “And again, you have not heard from the government since Saturday when this horrific thing happened?” Israeli MOTHER: “As I said, I have been contacted, but they haven’t had any news for me. They just wanted to know what I know and to get my information. As far as I’m concerned, there’s no news. They have been contacted, but there’s no news. Obviously, there’s lots for the government in Israel to — to learn from this situation, but I’m not focused on that. I’m focused on the world helping to release my children and the other hundreds of civilians held hostage in the Gaza Strip. That’s all I’m focused on. There will be time to rethink. There will be time to learn. There will be time to make conclusions. It’s not now.” MITCHELL: “That is completely understandable. We can’t can’t even imagine your agony. At least, you know, you are getting your message out, and I know that’s why you’re doing this. You want the world to know what is happening to your beloved children.” Israeli MOTHER: “Yes, thank you very much for giving me the opportunity.” MITCHELL: “Thank you. And wishing you — our prayers and our hearts are with you.” Israeli MOTHER: “Thank you so much.” MITCHELL: “Thank you for sharing your grief with us, your agony. And we’ll have more. We’ll be right back.”

Reporter: “Do you think Democrats are unified in their message that Israel has a right to defend itself? A couple of your colleagues have called for a ceasefire, called for de-escalation, referred to Israel as an apartheid state. Do you think Democrats are unified in their support for Israel?” RASKIN: “Yeah, we’re absolutely unified behind Israel’s right to exist and Israel’s right to defend itself. And we’ll be standing strong with Israel.” Reporter: “What do you make of the comments from your colleagues that — that sort of indicate otherwise?” RASKIN: “Well, I just — I haven’t seen any of those. And all that I’ve heard is a very powerful consensus that we need to stand by Israel as it defends itself.”

What can America learn from the horrific attacks on Israel by Hamas? That our agencies need to be focused on what the agency is supposed to be focused on. Why is the CDC involved in firearm regulation? Why do our intelligence agencies focus energy on parents at school board meetings and Catholics at mass? What value is the terror watchlist when someone on the watchlist commits an act of terrorism? Who is watching the watchlist? A bloated, distracted, and unaccountable Agency Class in the United States does not make our country more secure. BIDEN: “This was an act of sheer evil. More than 1,000 civilians slaughtered, 1,000 civilians slaughtered in Israel. Among them at least 14 American citizens killed. We now know that American citizens are among those being held by Hamas. I’ve directed my team to share intelligence and deploy additional experts from across the United States government to consult with and advise Israeli counterparts on hostage recovery — recovery efforts.”

VAUGHN: “Congresswoman, Hamas terrorists have cut off babies’ heads and burned children alive. Do you support Israel’s right to defend themselves against this brutality? You can’t comment about Hamas terrorists chopping off babies’ heads? Congresswoman, do you have a comment on Hamas terrorists chopping of babies’ heads? You have nothing to say about Hamas terrorists chopping off babies’ heads? Do you condone what has done, chopping off babies’ heads, burning children alive, raping women in the street? You have no comment about children’s heads being chopped off? Congresswoman, why do you have a Palestinian flag outside your office if you do not condone what Hamas terrorists have done to Israel? Do Israeli lives not matter to you?”
