More than 300,000 Israeli reserves have been called up as the country prepares for a possible ground operation into Gaza. Israeli Defence Forces are currently building up around a military base near the Gaza border. Columns of IDF tanks stand at the ready in Southern Israel as troops await an invasion order. As forces gather around the base, the shock of the Hamas terrorist attacks is still fresh in the minds of Israeli soldiers. Air strikes on Gaza have reportedly killed more than 1,100 and injured a further 5,339 so far.

The Gaza City port has been battered by an airstrike as Israel continues its bombardment. In the footage taken by journalist Mohamed el Saife, smoke billows from buildings following missile bombardments in the port of Gaza City. The Palestine Post reported on Wednesday “entire neighbourhoods” have been destroyed by Israeli airstrikes. It mirrors similar footage witnessed in the past few days of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The Israeli Defence Force has confirmed 1,200 Israelis have been killed, while the Palestinian Health Authority says 1,100 people have died in the conflict.
