07/17/2023 AR-MEDCOM Support to Cadet Summer Training 2023

U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers from the 7459th Medical Operational Readiness Unit (MORU), Fort Gordon, Ga., the 7458th MORU, Fort Liberty, N.C.; the 7226th Medical Support Unit (MSU), Fort Jackson, S.C.; the 7222nd MSU, Tampa, Fla.; the 7217th MSU, Perrine; Fla.; and the 7236th MSU, Fort Benning, Ga., have been sent on multiple rotations to provide medical in-processing services and support to U.S. Army ROTC cadets taking part in both the Basic Camp (1,000 cadets) and Advanced Camp (6,400 cadets) regiments of Cadet Summer Training 2023 in Fort Knox, Ky., May 31 - Aug. 18, 2023. Army Reserve Medical Command (AR-MEDCOM) units are a critical component of the annual CST events to ensure minimal attrition of cadets due to illness and/or injuries sustained during the course of their endeavors.

Soldiers from 12 NATO countries compete in the 2023 NATO Best Sniper Competition held at Camp Adazi, Latvia, August 1-2. The teams contended with wind, rain, movement, and limited visibility as they shot at five targets from an altitude of approximately 50 meters and a distance of 200 meters. The contest, supported by Soldiers with Task Force Knighthawk, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, and 2nd Battalion (General Support), 3rd Aviation Regiment, both supporting 4th Infantry Division, consisted of three-person teams representing: Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The 4th Inf. Div.'s mission in Europe is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s forward deployed corps in Europe. ATLANTIC OCEAN (July 16, 2023) Sailors fire a MK 240 machine gun during a live fire exercise aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5). Bataan, along with the Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) are currently on a scheduled deployment to the U.S. 5th and U.S. 6th Fleet areas of responsibility. The U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps routinely participate in scheduled deployments to improve combined combat readiness, increase operational capacity, and strengthen relationships among allies and partners throughout the region.
