Finally - A Rossi RM66 Update! The Verdict: Still Awesome
I FINALLY was able to give a quick update on how well the Rossi RM66 6" stainless 357 Magnum revolver has been performing for me, and as the video obviously overemphasizes - it is REALLY good! I have sat around several nights while watching TV just clicking the trigger, and it has broken in extremely well for double action shooting.
There are a few shots in this video of one that I filmed 2 weeks ago, and I wish I could have uploaded it. That Friday the wind was blowing like crazy, and the audio was terrible... so thanks for being patient even if this update is pretty much just singing the praises of how smoothly the trigger pulls.

Canik TP9SF One - 18 9mm in one magazine!
The 6th and last in a series of videos that I shot (literally) on the same day a few weeks ago, this video highlights my Canik TP9SF One that I picked up from Academy on a Thanksgiving sale for $249.99. Since it was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up, and after selling a Canik TP9 SC last year, I wanted to get back into the Canik line as inexpensively as possible.
The Canik triggers are truly nice and smooth, and this TP9SF One is no exception. The "One" in the name means it's the economy package - no tools with it and only one magazine, but that magazine holds 18 rounds. Very nice to not have to reload much at all!
My shooting is accurate enough with it that I'd be perfectly fine with carrying it anytime, and with those 18 rounds, there shouldn't be any trouble picking up and sightlining just about any target.
I hope to get some more videos up soon once the weather stays consistent!

Sig Sauer P938 9MM - Great for everyday carry
The 5th in a series of videos that I shot (literally) on the same day a couple of weeks ago, I enjoy shooting my Sig Sauer P938 9mm a little more to keep it loosened up. I have it in an inside the waist leather holster every day (whether I'm shopping, working or on the Praise Team at Church), and it can tend to get a little dusty. It was time to air it out!
I bought this pistol probably 3 years ago after a guy at Sharpshooter's Range near us let us shoot his P238 380. That thing was REALLY smooth and accurate, and I had to have one because it is so concealable but yet available and ready when I will need it. I went a couple of days later to Sportsman's Warehouse locally to get this P938 because it's less expensive than just about anywhere else, and it has a really good grip on it to make it easier to hang on to.
Thankfully it's accurate enough even with me that I feel completely comfortable with it, and I'm glad I put the Crimson Trace laser on it just to have in case I need it as well. The Tritium rear sights and front optic make it really easy to pick up a sight line quickly.

Rock Island M1911 GI 45 ACP - Tough to rack but fun to shoot!
The 4th in a series of videos that I shot (literally) on the same day a couple of weeks ago, I break in my Rock Island M1911 GI 45 ACP a little more with some Armscorp ammo. A friend of mine has a super nice Colt 45 that's over 50 years old, and I had so much fun shooting it last year that I had to buy a 45 for myself.
I'm obviously on a budget, so I did a lot of investigating to see what would be the best bang for the buck. After a good bit of Internet searching and YouTube watching, I found out Rock Island makes some pretty awesome guns for the money. Sportsman's Warehouse sent an email to me just in time for me to buy this one for $329 plus tax, so I thought it would be well worth the money. Here's a link for their webpage, and occasionally they'll put this one on sale:
https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/handguns/rock-island-m-1911-gi-standard-45-auto-acp-5in-parkerized-pistol-71-rounds/p/1321104
Turns out that it really is worth the cash. Of course we'd all like to have Colts, Smith and Wessons, and other higher dollar guns, but sometimes you just want to play and you don't want to pay the higher cash. I added some good bone color rubberized grips that help grab the pistol a little easier, but with my big hands, this one is a great size for me.
I've only shot maybe 50 or 60 rounds out of this one so far because I don't have a chance to get out a lot with it, but even though it is extremely hard to rack, I'll eventually shoot it enough to get the springs loosened up. It's still pretty accurate in spite of my shooting. ;-)

Kel-Tec P17 - Fun American-Made 22 Shooter!
The Kel-Tec P17 is an inexpensive way to have a lot of fun shooting, with 3 16 round magazines included, on a budget! The pistol itself I got for $219 at Trader's Gun Shop nearby, and as of March 11 they still have stock of a few. I really like the fiber optic front sight that shows up well in daylight, and the dovetail rear sight I may end up painting a dot or 2 on so I can line it up a little better.
When I first shot 250 rounds of Aguila through my P17, I had a hard time getting it to stay on target. It should hard, hard left and low, so I tried adjusting the sights. No success. I could not get this thing to do well at ALL from 5, 7 and 10 yards, so I got in contact with Lynne at Kel-Tec in Customer Service.
Lynne is a consummate professional: very caring and concerned with her customer's needs, and in a series of emails she concluded that the best thing would be to send me a new slide cover. That cover includes the rear sights, and thankfully that seems to have made this a new gun! I am much more accurate now with the new slide cover.
I've had a lot of fun with this P17, and I will stand up for Kel-Tec and their customer service due to how they have treated me.

Kel-Tec PMR-30 - Verdict: Break it in to be AWESOME!
My new Kel-Tec PMR-30 is a lot of fun to shoot and puts out a fireball! You can only see the fire a time or two in the video around my shoulders (too bad I only had one camera), but it still has mild recoil that helps you easily obtain your targets. Mine needs to be broken in some more because it had a couple of hangups, but it should be great once I get several more rounds through it. Beautiful day to be outside!

The Rossi RM66 - Verdict: AWESOME!
I bought a Rossi RM66 6" barrel 357 Magnum last week at the South Carolina Gun Company, and I have to say, this is a GREAT revolver! Today is the first day I have been able to shoot it, but single action is so easy and accurate! Double action makes it a little tougher, but it's still nice to have this long barrel to help your shots make the target. So far it's a great purchase, so the verdict: AWESOME!

New Rossi RM66 357 Unboxing
I have been researching all kinds of 357 revolvers over the last few weeks, and I really didn't want to put $1000 or so into anything right now. Last week I read more about the Rossi RM66 6" stainless that they just came out with at the Shot Show last month, and when I walked into the South Carolina Gun Company this afternoon, they had 2 on display.
This is an unboxing video, and I hope to get out to shoot it soon so I can give more of an objective opinion on it. It feels very nice, and it has a good trigger - wide and large as well as being smooth. The grips feel good in my XXL hands, and it seems to be a great addition.
The book it comes with says it has a 1 year warranty, but there is a registration card that shows when it's mailed in within 10 days they will repair free of charge during the life of the gun.
