The Next Generation of the CV90 Vehicle
The Next Generation of the CV90 Vehicle
Combat Vehicle 90 #CV90 also called Stridsfordon 90 (Stf 90), represents the family of armored combat vehicles developed by the Bae Hägglunds system (Alvis Hagglunds before) from örnsköldsvik and Saab Bofors Bofors Dinamika from Karlskoga.
The CV90 chassis was originally built by the Hägglunds land system, while Saab Bofors supplies tower. The Bae Hägglunds system currently produces all vehicles.
Bae Systems launched its latest CV90 combat vehicle featuring a new D-Series Turret at Defense and Security Equipment International in London.
The addition of a new 50mm tower to the CV90 is part of the $ 500 million increase contract for the CV9035NL. The main weapon position is changed, some to increase vehicle balance and to provide space for better weapons sets, increase the death of combat vehicles.

🔴 Bad luck or gain for canada, choosing the F35 over the SAAB JAS 39 Gripen
Bad luck or gain for canada, choosing the F35 over the SAAB JAS 39 Gripen
What a sad day for Canada! The decision to buy the F-35 fighter jet was a huge mistake on a number of fronts.
Sweden's Saab's Gripen E is faster than the F-35; much cheaper to operate; it is more maneuverable and certainly more reliable.
As the F-35 program goes through operational testing, the number of critical technical flaws is slowly diminishing,
“However, the exact nature of the matter will remain unknown to the public, even when the deficiency itself is not classified.
"The F-35 Joint Program Office declined to characterize the fighter jet's remaining seven critical flaws, but said in a statement that it had identified and tested fixes for each issue."

🔴 Golden Moment For SAAB JAS 39 Gripen : SAAB Stocks Increase Drastically ! advantage of NATO
Golden Opportunity For SAAB JAS 39 Gripen : SAAB Stocks Increase Drastically ! advantage of NATO
Defense manufacturer Saab will increase capacity as profits increase.
Swedish defense products company Saab will increase capacity to meet growing demand, it said on Friday after posting an increase in first-quarter profit and strong order intake.
Saab shares have soared 65% this year as more countries announce increases in defense budgets as a result of rising geopolitical tensions and conflict in Ukraine.
Saab, maker of the Gripen fighter jet and a range of military and civilian hardware, said it expects further supply chain challenges across the industry and will work to reduce shortages and ensure component delivery.
Shares of the company, which competes with US defense giant Lockheed Martin (LMT.N) as well as Boeing (BA.N), France's Dassault and Britain's BAE Systems (BAES.L), were up 3.5% at 0847 GMT.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow calls a "special military operation", has prompted many countries, including home market Saab, Sweden, to increase defense budgets.
Sweden and its closest military ally, Finland, are also considering whether to join NATO after decades of military neutrality.

SAAB Gripen - A New Fighter for the NATO?
SAAB Gripen Ready to Fight with NATO.
Swedish defense group Saab is betting on increased sales from the country's rapidly changing stance on joining the NATO military alliance.
Unthinkable just a few months ago, Swedish lawmakers are now intensively discussing potential applications to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization as public support for such a move reaches new heights this month. For Saab, "it's hard to see anything negative from an industry perspective," CEO Micael Johansson said in a phone interview after reporting first-quarter results.

🔴 Exclusive : US test Saab gripen❗ America tests the sophistication of the SAAB JAS 39 Gripen
Exclusive : America tests the sophistication of the Saab JAS 39 Gripen
The Swedish Gripen joined the US Air Force during an interoperability exercise, reports Forsvarsmakten. For the American bombers involved, this was the first time they had trained in Swedish airspace.
Suit 39 Gripen escorts US B-1B Lancer bombers in Swedish airspace. Air-to-air refueling was carried out from US KC-135 aircraft to increase the air resistance of the Swedish aircraft. The surprise attack was carried out by the Swedish air combat command.
“The main task of the Swedish Air Force is to provide a strong air defense, to control Swedish airspace. Thus, the Swedish Air Force facilitates the operation of ground targets, which are also simulated in this exercise,” said Air Force Commander Major General Carl-Johan Edström.
The situation in the world around is becoming more and more unpredictable and unstable. If a conflict arises in the Baltic Sea region, Sweden will certainly be involved.
In a statement of solidarity, Sweden has clearly stated that we will not remain passive, if an attack is launched on us, our partners or any other country bordering the Baltic Sea. Military cooperation is critical to ensuring long-term security and stability in our region.

Why ?America wants to revive the monster F-111 Aardvark
Why ?America wants to revive the monster F-111 Aardvark
The Strike Aircraft The U.S. Military Wishes It Could Have Back?
The F-111 Aardvark was the U.S. Air Force’s premier strike aircraft for the majority of the Cold War. It served in practically every conflict from Vietnam forwards, until it was replaced by the F-15E Strike Eagle. It also served Strategic Air Command in a limited role as a strategic bomber.
But what made the F-111 great? Did the United States truly lose any capability by retiring it?
The F-111 was one of the earliest joint-service aircraft, meant to fulfill both the U.S. Air Force’s requirement for a swing wing strike bomber and the U.S. Navy’s requirement for a long-range interceptor.
The strike bomber role meant that it needed to go very low and fast to penetrate enemy air defenses. As a result, it was fitted with an advanced terrain following radar, swing wings for increased maneuverability at low speeds, and a generous bomb bay. Later NATO strike aircraft like the Panavia Tornado would gain a lot of design cues from the F-111, including the radar and swing wings.
The F-111 first was tested in combat in Vietnam during 1968, but issues with the design delayed its full fielding until Operation Linebacker. It would go on to become one of the most survivable bombers of the war due to its ability to penetrate at a low level, with only a 0.015 loss rate.
However, the F-111 would be rejected from the Navy’s competition to find a long-range interceptor in favor of a design that would become the more maneuverable F-14 Tomcat.
The Air Force was pleased with its performance and continued to upgrade the F-111. The F-111D was one of the first combat aircraft with a “glass cockpit,” that featured primarily screens instead of gauges to display information. It also featured some of the most advanced avionics of the time.

🔴 Sweden bans Saab Group from selling Gripen E fighter jets to Philippines
Sweden bans Saab Group from selling Gripen E fighter jets to Philippines
The Reason Behind The Philippines Won't Be Able To Buy Gripen Fighters From Sweden
It is known that the Philippines has an interest in acquiring the Gripen fighter from the Swedish Saab Group
In the Philippine Government's proposal, they will acquire 12 DOE 39D "Gripen" fighters, quoted from Defense Security Asia.
But for this reason, the Saab Group could not sell it. More broadly, European countries cannot establish military relations with the Southeast Asian country.
It turns out that the Swedish Government did not give permission to Saab Group to sell Gripen due to bad human rights issues in the Philippines.
It is known that during President Rodrigo Duterte's tenure, thousands to tens of thousands of civilians have died.
"After several meetings the country's Export Control Board has decided not to grant an export license to Saab Group which would allow the company to export DOE 39D fighter jets to the Philippines," Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet said.

🔴 Finland and SAAB Gripen Sweden protect the air at sea over baltic sea
🔴 Finland and Sweden protect the air at sea over baltic sea
The Allies practiced air interoperability with Finland and Sweden.
NATO allies and partners Finland and Sweden, have undertaken a week of intensive cooperation in the skies over Estonia in the recently completed exercise Ramstein Alloy. Regular NATO exercises focus on real-world scenarios faced by NATO Air Police personnel stationed in the Baltic region.
The drills included air combat training, air-to-air refueling, and identification and escort of aircraft that had lost communications. The exercise is an opportunity to train together and enhance the ability of the NATO air force to operate with and with partners. Crew and aircraft from Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom took part, along with the air forces of Finland and Sweden.
The main scenarios carried out by the participants were slow-moving interception and loss of civil communication with escorts. Other training areas include simulated crew ejection with Search and Rescue chain activation, air-to-air combat training and air-to-air refueling.

Canada to send 4 warships, 1.000 military personnel.
The Canadian military will send four warships and 800 soldiers, sailors and aviators to this summer’s Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC), the world's largest naval warfare exercise.
The decision was finalized at a meeting earlier this month in San Diego that was attended by senior defence staff from Canada, the United States, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and Singapore.
Two Canadian navy frigates from British Columbia – HMCS Vancouver and HMCS Winnipeg – will be accompanied by Cyclone helicopters, an Aurora patrol plane and a pair of coastal defence vessels, HMCS Brandon and HMCS Edmonton, at the exercise this summer off Hawaii and California.
The Department of National Defence says the ongoing war in Ukraine, which has drawn Canadian frigates from Halifax to Europe in support of NATO’s deterrence measures against Russia, will not affect scheduled naval training in the Pacific region.

🔴 Russia's New Checkmate Stealth Fighter : Russia believes it damaged competitor SAAB JAS-39 Gripen
Russia's New Checkmate Stealth Fighter : Russia believes it damaged competitor SAAB JAS-39 Gripen
Russia's New Checkmate Stealth Fighter: What We Know Today.
rostec has finally unveiled its hotly anticipated “Checkmate” fighter after weeks of touting its latest military weapon.
The new fighter jet was unveiled on Tuesday at the 2021 edition of Russia’s biennial MAKS airshow. The dramatized opening presentation, which can be viewed in English on Rostec’s Youtube channel, dispelled any doubts over the plane’s official name. “Pride, intelligence, power, reliability,” said the announcer. “This is the new fifth-generation light tactical fighter. This is the Checkmate.”
The fighter jet was manufactured by Rostec subsidiary Sukhoi, growing out of Russia’s Light Tactical Aircraft program, also known as the LTS program. The Checkmate brings a fairly respectable specs sheet, boasting a top speed of 1,900 kilometers per hour, an operational range of 3,000 kilometers or a combat radius of 1,500 kilometers, and payload in excess of seven tons. The warplane also offers short take-off and landing capability, thrust vectoring, the cost-efficient “Matreshka” automated logistic support system, design features aimed at stealth performance and low-maintenance functionality. As a multirole tactical fighter jet, Checkmate will boast a large and diverse armament suite for effectiveness against air, ground, and sea targets. These include the RVV-MD and RVV-SD medium- and short-range air-to-air missile, GROM E1 and E2 guided air-to-surface missiles, a wide catalog of guided and unguided bombs, S-8 and S-13 rockets, and more. The full range of Checkmate’s possible weapons configurations remains unclear but the presentation noted that it can carry up to five air-to-air missiles in internal weapons bays while deployed in its stealth configuration.

🔴 Shocked World! Sweden once made the Bandkanon, the Unbeatable Fastest Artillery.
Shocked World! Sweden once made the Bandkanon, the Unbeatable Fastest Artillery.
Fastest Firing Artillery Of Its Kind Ever Built.
Sweden has traditionally been a fairly good military power. This is how his modernization efforts resulted in the unusual but deadly new artillery.
During the twentieth century, Sweden developed many weapons above their class even though it was not a superpower. From the Swedish K SMG to the AT4, Swedish guns have won American orders and proven themselves to be excellent in the field. However, one of Sweden's most attractive and innovative designs was never exported. The Bandkanon 1 self-propelled howitzer was a Swedish design with only twenty-six vehicles built.
It still holds the record for being the fastest firing artillery system of its caliber. It has the ability to empty its entire magazine of fifteen shells in forty-five seconds, a world record. While the Bandkanon were never exported and were discontinued in 2003, the legacy of their magazine-style loading system lives on in Sweden's new Archer artillery system. But how did Bandkanon shoot so fast?
Why does Sweden want such a system?
To answer those questions, we must look at the circumstances that brought about the development of the Bandkanon. In the late 1940s, Sweden had a desperate need to modernize its artillery, as most of it was turn-of-the-century vintage. For most of the requirements, foreign-designed artillery fulfilled the requirements and was purchased. In contrast, the requirements for a heavy self-propelled artillery piece was set extremely high. This is where the extremely high rate of fire requirement came around, as the HQ wanted a rate of fire of fifteen rounds per minute for the self-propelled artillery piece.
The reasons for this are not exactly clear, but some speculation exists.
The Swedish military didn’t field multiple rocket launchers (MLRs) (such as the BM-21 Grad or M270 MLRs) during the Cold War at all, so the use of conventional artillery that has similar capability to MRLs would allow the Swedish artillery to fulfill two roles with one platform, making it more economical.
The Bandkanon was also designed with a fast automated loading system that allowed it to prepare for a second fire mission much faster than MRLs. In addition to this,
Swedish studies also came to the same conclusion as Soviet ones after WWII: that a fast rate of fire is desirable as artillery inflicts the most casualties at the beginning of the barrage when soldiers have not yet hunkered down in bunkers or fortified positions.
To fulfill these requirements, the Bandkanon required a design radically different from existing self-propelled artillery. Most self-propelled artillery at the time was laid out similar to tanks, with the gun breech being enclosed in a manned turret.

When did the Gripen jet crash and What caused it ?
This is the real cause of last year's gripen Jets in Thailand
Gripen jet crashes during air show.
A fighter jet crashed during the Children's Day air show in Hat Yai, Songkhla province, 2017.
Sqn Ldr Dilokrit Pattavee was killed when a Swedish-made Jas 39C Gripen fighter jet crashed on the runway at Wing 56 during an air show at around 9:27 am during a surprise attack maneuver.
About an hour later, Thai media reported an airport fire engine overturned as it rushed to extinguish the fire shortly after the crash. Hat Yai airport had to be closed to clear the runway. Commercial flights were diverted to Krabi airport while outgoing flights were delayed. Authorities hope to reopen the airport before noon.
this is the reason it turns out:
About an hour later, Thai media reported that an airport fire engine overturned as it rushed to extinguish the blaze. Hat Yai International Airport had to close to clear the runway. Investigations found no problems with the plane, and the cause of the crash is thought to be due to the pilot's spatial disorientation.

🔴 Beat China's Stealth Bombers - US Air Force Upgrades Next Generation B-21 Raider
Beat China's Stealth Bombers - US Air Force Upgrades Next Generation B-21 Raider
The #AirForce awarded a $108 million deal Wednesday to a defense contractor to start acquiring parts for the #B21 #Raider program -- the upcoming fleet of long-range strike bombers that will soon consume a major portion of the service's budget.
The B-21 Raider project is projected to cost the Air Force $5 billion next year, including $3.25 billion for research and development. That's the largest aircraft research project the Air Force has in the works, and a significant portion of its roughly $169.5 billion proposed budget for fiscal 2023.
Most details about the program are shielded by a thick layer of classification as the Pentagon works to ensure the bombers and their advanced stealth capabilities can surprise potential foes, with only general details about production and cost publicly revealed as part of the budgeting process.

🔴Why F22 Raptors not for sale?
why are F22 Raptors not for sale?
F22 Raptor is different from Gripen! why the US has never exported the lethal F-22.
At one time, the US Air Force's now retired F-22 program was the world's most expensive and most advanced fighter aircraft. It was surpassed only by the USAF's fifth-generation system, the F-35. But even during its development, the United States Congress made sure the U.S. military couldn't share technology with anyone – not even allies. However, America's allies were the first to use the more advanced F-35 fighter in combat.
The $62 billion F-22 program would have offset some research and development costs had the sale of the fighter been approved to an American ally, but the Comply Amendments to the Department of Defense Appropriations Act 1998 specifically prevent the sale of the F-22. F-22 Raptors to any foreign government — and they line up to buy.
Developing the kind of technology that brings the F-22's signature radar closer to that of a bee would take billions of dollars and countless years to develop independently. Why would a country allied with the United States want to make such a military effort when they could only afford the technology? Well, until they receive the F-35, they can't.

🔴SAAB is offering a special price for Austria, Grab the JAS 39 Gripen fighter.
Saab wants to return to Austria at a competitive price.
Just days after Defense Secretary Klaudia Tanner (ÖVP) committed to refitting the Eurofighter it doesn't love, Saab put a new package price for the Gripen fighter jet on the table. Sweden wants to be the dominant power in the skies over Austria again.
In the duel with Eurofighter, Saab is unbeaten: For the first time on Wednesday, Sweden named the all-inclusive price "Krone" for a package consisting of twelve Gripen C (single-seater) and two Gripen D (two-seater), including the first spare parts and the simulator itself. Saab returns to play as the next fighter jet for Austria. And that's just days after Minister Tanner publicly took hold of the Eurofighter.
A third cheaper than the Eurofighter?
At an acquisition cost of EUR 900 million and a cost of EUR 23,000 per flying hour, the jet will still be about a third cheaper than the Eurofighter over 15 years. For comparison: our 15 Eurofighters, which we have flown since 2007, have been paid off, so no more acquisition costs.

🔴 The fighter jet that China is afraid of is not from the USA - SAAB JAS 39 Gripen biggest threat
The fighter jet that China is afraid of is not from the USA - SAAB JAS 39 Gripen biggest threat
The JAS 39 #Gripen is a stunning fourth generation fighter jet from Sweden. Overall the Gripen may not have stealth capabilities, say US F-22 and F-35 fighter jets, he was able to make China run a few years ago: It was back in December 2019 when the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF).
test pilot Li Zhonghua gave a lecture, to much media attention, at Northwestern Polytechnic University in Shaanxi that delved deeper into the PLAAF's experience at the 2015 Falcon Strike exercise, when the Chinese Air Force's Su-27s had a hard time taking on the Swedish-made Gripen fighter jets.
The special exercise, conducted in Thailand with the PLAAF's Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) counterparts, showcased the diverse capabilities of China's Su-27 (also known as J-11 fighter) and Gripen-C and offered clues as to where the aircraft would be fly. towards technology in the years to come.

🔴 Austria interested in SAAB JAS39 Gripen fighter jet - Cooperate with SAAB
Austria interested in SAAB JAS39 Gripen fighter jet - Cooperate with SAAB
Saab serves the army with the Gripen as a replacement for the Eurofighter.
Eurofighters are expensive to operate and technically out of date. Swedish manufacturer Saab calculated the chances of an intergovernmental agreement for Gripen.
The war in Ukraine has drawn attention to the importance of airspace security in the event of a conflict - and to the shortcomings that the Austrian armed forces have in the region. As is well known, Austria had to rely on 15 Eurofighters, which were delivered after a highly questionable deal at SPÖ's request in 2017 without the essential elements of self-defense, night operations capability and long-range weapons. The Eurofighter retrofit from phase one and even the procurement of spare parts is considered very expensive, because important components are no longer produced for the first series aircraft that are already parked with other armed forces.
If one currently calculates the cost of around 65,000 euros per hour of flying the Eurofighter, this could become even more expensive in the years to come. For the upgrade alone, 200 million euros should be appreciated.
Informal new offer for now
In this situation, Saab comes into play: The Swedish company, which lost the Eurofighter with its Gripen in 2002, has set up an Austrian subsidiary - Saab Aeronautics Austria GmbH - and is trying to create the mood for the Gripen. With reference to Hungary and the Czech Republic, which each generate 2,000 flight hours a year with 14 Gripens, a Gripen solution is also offered to the armed forces.

🔴 Canada shocked ! Brazilian skies are ruled by two new Gripen E fighter jets F35 canada is too long
Surprised Canada!! The Brazilian skies are ruled by two new #Gripen E fighter jets.
The first two continuously produced Gripen E fighters, called the F-39 Gripen, by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) flew for the first time in Brazil today.
April 6, 2022: The first two continuously produced Gripen E fighters, called the F-39 Gripen, are in Brazil by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).
The aircraft arrived at the port of Navegantes last Friday, April 1, and completed its first flight in the country today. The two aircraft flew from Navegantes International Airport to the Gripen Flight Test Center at the Embraer factory in Gavião Peixoto. The flight was carried out by two Brazilian Air Force pilots who participated in the training in Sweden. The flight to Gavião Peixoto lasted about 50 minutes and went as planned.
For General Carlos de Armeda Baptista Jr., commander of the Brazilian Air Force, the arrival of the first two aircraft in service is a milestone in Brazil's airspace defense. "The arrival of the aircraft is the result of a project from the beginning aimed at not only facilitating research and industrial development in Brazil, but also pursuing increased deterrence. Now to guarantee the sovereignty of Brazilian airspace. A state-of-the-art multi-mission aircraft that will be the commander's main asset. "
The new fighter will remain at the Gripen Flight Test Center until the aircraft obtains military type certification, after which it will be transferred to Annapolis at the final stage of the delivery phase.
"Brazil is actively participating in fighter aircraft development, flight test campaigns, and production as part of a broad technology transfer package to Brazil's defense industry. Introducing two mass-produced aircraft. "This is a result," emphasized Jona Suielm, Senior Vice President of Serve and Head of Aviation for the Business Unit.

🔴 BAN 90 Extreme runway which is easy for the gripen F-35 to have to turn around.
BAN 90 Extreme runway which is easy for the gripen F-35 to have to turn around
How Sweden’s austere basing system influenced the Gripen.
Facing the Soviet threat during the Cold War, the Swedish air force devised an air basing strategy that dispersed fighters throughout its territory, making it difficult for Moscow to destroy all of its fleet on the ground in a surprise attack.
The Bas 90 system, which often nestled air strips amid forests and used highways as back-up runways, was partially dismantled after the end of the Cold War. However, in recent years the ideas behind the system are receiving renewed focus as Stockholm faces a resurgent Russia.
Dispersed basing also is getting interest from the US Air Force (USAF), as the service looks for ways to avoid its Pacific Air Forces fleet being destroyed on the tarmac by long-range precision cruise and ballistic missiles launched from China. The strategy, called Agile Combat Employment, is also being employed by the service and its #NATO allies in Europe in response to Russian hostility.
However, adapting the USAF’s premier combat aircraft, the highly complex Lockheed Martin F-35 and Lockheed F-22 stealth fighters, to dispersed operations is challenging. Both aircraft require extensive maintenance, repair and overhaul systems for sustained operations. That support system handles everything from stealth coating repair, software patches to engine overhaul. It’s not easy – nor was it originally designed – to pick up and relocate to a remote air base.
In contrast, the Swedes intended from the very beginning to have fighters operating from austere air bases. At the end of the Cold War this greatly influenced the development and production of the Saab JAS 39 #Gripen.
BAS 90 AND CONSCRIPTS
To understand the design of the Gripen, Saab argues that the nature of Bas 90 bases and the Swedish military need to be understood.
Bas 90 bases are designed to survive enemy attack by having flightlines and runways that are positioned far apart, often separated and hidden by woods. Aircraft also have the option to use several back-up runways, sometimes reinforced highways adjacent to the main airstrip.
“Attacking aircraft on the ground is made more difficult by dispersing individual flightline positions over large areas and with long distances between each position,” explains a 1986 documentary produced by the Swedish military. “The number of flightline positions in a base is enough to vary aircraft positioning over time.”
Because Bas 90 bases are spread out the Swedish military presumed that it would be “very cost-inefficient” for the Soviet Union to totally destroy the base from the air.
If an air strip is damaged by a bomb, the latest Gripen E can land in 600m (1,970ft) and take off in 500m, says Saab. The landing strip only needs to be 16m wide. That short take-off and landing ability also allows the fighter to fly from taxiways, small civil airfields or highways.
To land on short airstrips, but also to increase manoeuvrability, the Gripen was given a canard. The canard allows the fighter to increase its angle of attack and create more lift at slower speeds during landing.

Birth of the JAS 39 gripen edesign concept which became the best fighter jet on the planet
Birth of the JAS 39 gripen edesign concept which became the best fighter jet on the planet
Calling the JAS 39 #Gripen fighter jet for the Swedes is like scratching gold ink in the military world of the Scandinavian country. The JAS 39 Gripen is Sweden's largest industrial project in history. In May 2016, Saab, Svenska Aeroplan Aktie Bolag (#Swedish Airplane Corporation) a Swedish defense systems manufacturer and manufacturer of the #JAS39Gripen released the latest version of the Gripen, the JAS 39 Gripen NG. This new product makes the JAS 39 Gripen a modern multi-function fighter aircraft at a competitive price in the international market.
In 1978, the Swedish Air Force was in need of a new multi-role fighter to be put into service at the turn of the 20th century. The Swedish Air Force has also reviewed existing fighter aircraft from other countries, namely the F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-18 Super Hornet. After an evaluation process, the Swedish Parliament decided in June 1982 to carry out the JAS 39 Gripen development project, until the final test was completed in December 1996.
The Swedish Air Force ordered the manufacture of 204 aircraft which were divided into 3 stages. 30 aircraft have been completed in the first phase. Meanwhile, the second stage of delivery is in progress, consisting of 94 units of the one-crew variant and 14 units of the two-crew variant. Then in June 1997, the third phase consisting of 64 units of the JAS 39 Gripen was approved by the Swedish government.

🔴 SAAB JAS 39 Gripen E capable of destroying the Sukhoi Su-57
🔴 SAAB JAS 39 Gripen E capable of destroying the Sukhoi Su-57
The commander of the Swedish Air Force, Mats Helgesson, claims his country is developing a fighter aircraft designed to destroy the Sukhoi Su-57, Russia's fifth-generation fighter.
A fighter jet called the Swedish claims to have Russian Sukhoi-killing fighter planes will be able to defeat the superiority of the Sukhoi SU-57 fighter.
An expert on aerial combat from the Royal United Service Instituted, Justin Bronk, said the JAS39 Gripen series is known for its electronic warfare (EW) capabilities, which are updated every two years.
"A few years ago Gripen pilots got tired of being made fun of by German Typhoon pilots and came to play with their electronic warfare and give them trouble," Bronk said.
At the same time, Bronk noted that a pilot never knows in advance whether the EW will work, and even if it does, the pilot will still have to engage in combat.
To defeat fearsome Russian fighters and surface-to-air missiles, the US has largely turned to stealth aircraft. Stealth aircraft are expensive and must be built to the shape of the aircraft, according to a Business Insider report.
If Russia somehow cracked the code to detect a stealth fighter like the F-35, the most expensive weapon system in history would be easily destroyed.
But Saab is taking a different, and less expensive, approach to combating Russian anti-aircraft missiles and warplanes by focusing on electronic attacks, which gives them an advantage over anti-radar blankets because they can develop software without rebuilding from the ground up, according to Bronk.
Saab plans to update the software on the Gripen E every two years, giving it more flexibility to meet evolving challenges, according to Bronk.
But Bronk noted one problem with electronic warfare.
"The problem with basing a survival strategy around an electronic warfare suite is that you don't really know if it's going to work," he said. enemy as the waveform and attack methods are constantly changing."
If war breaks out between Russia and the West, Russia will likely do its utmost to push back on US electronic warfare, rather than against the Swedish Ice Gripens, of which there will only be a few dozen.
The whole Gripen E concept to operate on Swedish territory, taking advantage of all kinds of uneven terrain under the cover of surface-to-air missiles with its incredible EW range which in theory should remain safe from the majority of Russian missiles and air-to-air threats, ' said Bronk.
While it is unclear how powerful the EW component of the JAS 39 Gripen E is compared to the Su-57, as the two have never competed in the air, the Russian fighter jet is capable of carrying a much larger payload (10,000 kg), compared to the JAS 39 Gripen E's 5,300 kg. and achieved a higher speed (2.45 Mach) compared to Mach 2 by the JAS Gripen E. In addition, the Russian Sukhoi fighter is known for its maneuverability in one-on-one combat.
