Egor and Opizdenevshiye - There was a war - Come and See (LSd video)

Egor and Opizdenevshiye - "Psychedelia Tomorrow" (1993)
song: 14. Шла война ("There was a war")
Egor and Opizdenevshiye was a Russian psychedelic rock band. The leader of the band was Egor Letov (Russian: Егор Летов). The project appeared in 1990 after Letov’s main group Grazhdanskaya Oborona (Russian: Гражданская Оборона) was disbanded for a while. The reason for taking a new name was the necessity to cut off all the associations with the name of the former band. Letov, who considered rock and roll more of a religious movement than a genre of music, was afraid of becoming commercialized and therefore specifically adopted a name that could never be allowed by Russian censors, thereby making radio airplay or advertising impossible (connotatively, the word “Opizdenevshiye” means something like “the Fuckups” in Russian; the root is the word “pizda” or “cunt”).
The first album Pryg-Skok has been recorded in May - July 1990, and Sto Let Odinotchestva - in Jan - July 1992. Last release - Psychedelia Tomorrow (1993). Members: Konstantin Rjabinov, Igor Zhevtun, Alexander Rozhkov, Julia Sherstobitova, Anna Volkova.

"Solid Liquid Gas"
Ice cold eyes
Melting at the sight
Of refracted light
In the humidity
Of my evaporating tear
Inhale me, heavy breathing
On the windowpane
I was rain but the sight of you
Has me evaporating
Lift me to the heavens
I've been waiting
Emotionally condensating
I'm evaporating
Into something weightless
Don't make me wait
Don't make me wait
You make me weightless
Ice cold eyes
Ice cold eyes
Melting at the sight
Of refracted light
In the humidity
Of my evaporating tear
Breathe me in
Before I have to freeze this
Breathe me in
Before I have to resist
I'm not gonna dismiss
The bliss of this weightless state
I don't wanna resist
The bliss of this weightlessness
Inhale me, heavy breathing
On the window pane
I was rain, but the sight of you
Has me, evaporating
Lift me to the heavens
I've been waiting
Emotionally condensating

Lendasid kiiged
Ilma reisijateta
Ilma kõrvalise pingutuseta
Ise omaette...
Lendasid kiiged
Ilma reisijateta
Ilma kõrvalise pingutuseta
Ise omaette...
Ise omaette...
Ise omaette...
Kurk kuivas
Oks ligunes
Oks ligunes
Kanal paisus
Tasuta niiskusega
Seisva veekesega
Seisva veekesega
Ja musta tõmblusega
Sõrmed niitis
Pea põletas
Hinge väljapühkis
Väravast välja
Väravast välja
Valgendas juuksed
Pressis välja hääle
Küpsetas kortsud
Hakkasid naerma mehed
Hakkasid naerma mehed...
Ja nutma naised
Sõrmedel külm...
Mõtetel kitsas...
Maisest orust
Tundmatutesse valudesse - hips-hops!!!
hips-hops!!!
hips-hops!!!
hips-hops!!!
Hips maa alla
Hops pilvele
Hips maa alla
Hops pilvele
Värisesid vuntsid
Tantsisid tunnid
Hips - sekund
Hops - sajand
Hips - sekund
Hops - sajand
Hallinesid vuntsid
Peatusid tunnid
Kadus aeg
Läbipõles seeme
Lämbus okse
Sumbus luksumine
Kägardus hirm
Ja vatikuue alla...
Hämaruses peegel, vesi ja küünal...
Keegi sisemuses sureb naeru lagistades...
Huultega vahutades...
Huultega vahutades
Hammastega plagistades
Oota pimedust
Oota märki
Neilt, kes ootavad sind öösel väljal!..
Mõista korda...
Mõista korda -
Kes püha isa...
Kes mitte kordagi elanik...
Kes purustas ringi...
Kes kukkus ratta alla...
Kõik läheb nagu peab...
Kõik ununeb...
Kõik saab korda...
Pöördus keha
Ringis mööda tuba
Ilma igasuguste pingutusteta
Ise omaette
Ise omaette
ISE OMAETTE!!!
Kõverdusid sõrmed

Vanake laulab:
Istu redelipulgale
Kuiva kaevu
Süüdlasest kaabaka
Laulukest kuula
Sellest kuidas juhtus
Et ämber purunes
Nöör katkes
Ja selgus et vett ei ole
Ja et üldse polnud mitte munnigi -
Vaid eksles madu
Ja nirises nire
Nirises nire...
Ja küpses vaarikas
Hingetõmme - sisse ja välja
Hingetõmme - välja ja sisse
Hingetõmme - sisse ja välja
Hingetõmme - välja ja sisse...
Loobu oma kujust
Kustuta küünlajupp
Võta vastu kingitus
Tõmba juur välja!!
Hips-hops!!!
Hips-hops!!!
Hips-hops!!!
Hips-hops!!!
Madalamale surnuaiast
Kõrgemale päikesest
Madalamale surnuaiast
Kõrgemale päikesest...

An Estonian debut: Tallinn Art Hall will showcase unexpected elements of the virtual world in art.
Tallinn Art Hall will open major international exhibition Immerse! at its Lasnamäe Pavilion, introducing novel artistic perspectives.
“We believe that Estonian audiences may have never seen such an exhibition before,” say the curators of the exhibition, Corina L. Apostol (Tallinn Art Hall) and Lívia Nolasco-Rózsás (ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe). “Every day, billions of people alternate between being absorbed into and expelled from a digitally constructed virtual environment. Artificial environments have an enormous immersive power; people seem to live several lives at once. This is what the new exhibition tries to make sense of and reflect with the help of unprecedented artistic possibilities.”
Immerse! is an international group exhibition about the various facets and epistemological, cognitive and political implications of immersion that are made possible through computation today. With the recent worldwide accelerated digitisation of the arts during the pandemic and the ensuing crisis, the exhibition and its catalogue serve as a timely resource to reflect on and analyse some of the latest artistic solutions and platforms that enable remote access to knowledge and culture in unique and effective ways.
Via the exhibition and the catalogue accompanying it, viewers and readers are asked to reconsider their relationship to the virtual dimensions of reality, by posing questions such as: How can virtual reality, understanding it as computer-generated public space in all forms possible, contribute to current political and social discourses?
The material presented in the exhibition focuses specifically on Central and Eastern Europe, and the thematic exhibition includes art projects completed in the Beyond Matter residency program. In addition to Estonian artists, almost 20 international artists participate in the exhibition: Kristaps Ancāns (LV/UK), Zach Blas (US/CA), Guim Camps (ES/CO), Ami Clarke (UK), Dennis Dizon (PH/ES), Laureta Hajrullahu (XK), Hanna Hildebrand (IT/CH), Laura Kuusk (EE) & Camille Laurelli (FR/EE), Olson Lamaj (AL), Andrii Linik (UA), Anna Manankina (UA/DE), Alyona Movko-Mägi (EE), Bahar Noorzadeh (CA/IR/UK), Shelley Odradek / Katie Zazenski (US/PL), Kirill Savchenkov, Tomo Savić-Gecan (HR/NL), Jonas Staal (NL/GR), Ivar Veermäe (EE/DE) and Ksenia Yurkova (RU/AT).
“Observations have led us to various questions, such as: How have knowledge production and spatial relations been resituated within new immersive relationships and virtual entanglements that act as mediators of space and presence? And how do we keep a critical distance when the distinction between real and virtual, computer-generated and tangible defy perception? What does this new “now” look like and feel like?” the curators commented.
The artists in this exhibition help us give shape and clarity to this moment through their expression about what we are losing, how we are changing, and what the digital “poster children” or the virtual totems of the current crises will be. Artworks displayed comment on the issues of political urgency today.
The exhibition is realised within the framework of Beyond Matter, an international collaborative practice-based research project that brings cultural heritage and culture in development to the verge of virtual reality. Tallinn Art Hall has been part of this project since 2019, and the upcoming exhibition and catalogue mark the conclusion of this multi-year endeavour. This common undertaking seeks to engage with a contemporary shift – largely attributable to the rapid development, ubiquitous presence, and use of computation and information technology – in the production and mediation of visual art within institutional frameworks.
The exhibition Immerse! is open at Tallinn Art Hall’s Lasnamäe Pavilion from 18 February to 30 April. Tallinn Art Hall’s Lasnamäe Pavilion (24 Jaan Koorti Street) is open from Wednesday to Sunday 12–7 pm. Free entrance.
Beyond Matter is co-funded by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union’

“KONTAKT—JOON”, Stockmann Galerii, 16.02.2023
KONTAKT—JOON” grupinäitus on avatud 16.02–16.04.2023

"Emperor Tomato Ketchup" (1971)
Director: Shūji Terayama
Set in an indeterminate future in which children have overthrown adults and established their own empire, the film does not have a central narrative or identifiable character roles. Rather it depicts a series of graphic tableaux in which children (played onscreen by actual children) engage in cruel and abusive acts against the adults under their dominion. These include scenes of child soldiers arresting, enslaving, executing, and raping helpless victims, often held at gunpoint.
A constitution is read aloud, establishing the basic laws of the empire and the supremacy of children over adults. The title of "Emperor Tomato Ketchup" is derived from the stipulated favorite food of children enshrined in the constitution. The titular boy emperor lazily lords over his parents and shows disinterest in the young girl who is his designated concubine. He later sexually assaults a glamorous woman, suckling on her breasts and placing his head between her thighs.
The violent overthrow of the adult government is understood by the children in the film as akin to rock paper scissors (じゃん・けん・ポン, jan-ken-pon).
The film includes scenes of animal abuse, drag play, fascism, Nazism, racism, rape, the Ku Klux Klan, nudity, and sexual fetishism as well as pantomimed erotic acts involving both children and adults.

Lisbon Story. movie clip-05 ( Wim Wenders, 1994 )
"Lisbon Story" (1994)
Director: Wim Wenders
Lisbon Story (Portuguese: O Céu de Lisboa (Brasil); German: Lisbon Story) is a 1994 feature film directed by Wim Wenders. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival. As part of Lisbon's programme as the European City of Culture in 1994, Wenders and three Portuguese filmmakers were invited to make a documentary about the city. The result was the fictional Lisbon Story
Lisbon Story is partially a sequel to Wenders' 1982 film, The State of Things. The fictitious movie director in the previous film, Friedrich Munro, reappears, again played by Patrick Bauchau.
In Lisbon Story Friedrich has moved to Lisbon, Portugal (the country where The State of Things was set). The principal character, Philip Winter (Rüdiger Vogler), a sound engineer, receives a postcard invitation from Friedrich to come to Lisbon to record sounds of the capital city for his forthcoming film. On arriving at the house where he is staying, it finds it occupied with his film editing equipment, but the director is nowhere to be found. Some children who apparently work with him indicate he will return, but don't know when. This sets in motion Winter's quest to find the missing Friedrich.
