Making Full Use Of A Moose
Preparing a moose hide in the traditional, native way requires a lot of physical effort. Once it is treated with the animal's brain, the hardest work goes into the scraping, in order to get the thickness and softness right before it is smoked.

Entrepreneurs in Trucks - Intimacy On a Schedule?
Based on a mature couple's experience, this is the first in a series looking at how men and women can build successful relations with each other, quite different from advice spread by popular self-help channels - mostly from a "Now you got her, how do you keep her?" perspective.
In this episode we will look at the dilemna of husbands and wives having vastly different needs when it comes to frequency of intimacy and how best to deal with it.
The channel this series intentionally contrasts itself with is Rich Cooper's "Entrepreneurs In Cars" which can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/c/EntrepreneursInCars
Although the advice given here may differ, this series is not meant to disparage Rich or his channel in any way.

Dene Assembly 2022
This video provides a view into the Dene Cultural Assembly (what many think of as a pow-wow) that took place in Bushe (near High Level, Alberta) on August 26-28, 2022 after 3 years of shut-down due to restrictions. It was a joyous event, made interesting by the unique drum dancing and "hand games" played, which this video shows.
For more background on this event (including some explanation of how the hand game rules work), you are invited to view this portion of an extended version of this video: https://youtu.be/bWHWN14piQc?t=89

Trapline! The Musical.
This video expresses quite well how we I feel when on our trapline. There is something pure and almost magical about the place; so pristine that the lake water is safe to drink.
And peaceful - it gives you the time you need to think about life and your relationship to God and family.
For trapping, the area has an abundance of lynx and the other fur-bearing animals my wife uses for her native crafts, plus moose and deer for food.
Sometimes I wonder, if civilization came crashing to a sudden end, how long it would take for us to notice out there?

When You Don't Know What You're Doing! (Mini 3 Refuses to Come Home) (4k)
While getting used to flying a drone for use in this channel's videos, we ended up in a highly stressful situation as we attempted to record the beautiful, remote lake located within our trapline in northern Alberta.
Due to having it's target-tracking feature turned on, the drone would not let me return it to the narrow shoreline it had taken off from - placing us in quite a predicament for getting it back in a way that would not involve a force-landing on the water!
As it turned out, there would only be one, possible solution...
My wife tries, but has no idea what to do. The drone shown in this video is a "DJI Mini 3 Pro."

No politics, no message; this is just an easy-going walk with the family along one of the many trails we have in Edmonton, sharing a taste of the good Canadian life. My wife and I are blessed; so often spending time with our grandchildren and even our first great-grandchild, Holden.
Little known fact: Edmonton Alberta has the largest system of trails of any city in North America - exceeding even New York's Central and Vancouver's Stanley Parks.

Bill C-21: Trudeau Opens Gates To Swatting In Effort To Reduce Number Of Canadian Gun Owners (4K)
It's not an exaggeration to say what Trudeau is now proposing in Bill C-21 will eventually result in the loss of life for some law-abiding gun owners or their families in Canada. And all in the name of safety, of course! There are provisions contained in this bill that are absolutely ripe for abuse and this video will show you exactly where and how.
In addition, as this video will show, an Emergency Prohibition Order filed falsely (and later revoked) will still result in the permanent removal of the accused's PAL, with no legal recourse because all that is required is the history of that first filing (whether it was later falsified or not). This is an incredible violation of Canadian legal rights.

Trudeau's Ban Extending To Hunting Rifles! (4K)
We've been lead down the garden path and it appears our worst fears are now being realized. In a supreme act of arrogance and dishonesty, Trudeau is reneging on the promise he made, when he assured Canadians his intent was never to take away our hunting rifles.
Law-respecting Canadians who who took him at his word have been played for patsies; which will tend to destroy what little respect is remaining for the country's institutions.
We are in a really serious situation now in Canada, being led by a political opportunist who thinks nothing of dividing our country; using honest firearms owners as convenient boogey men (as he did with the truckers) to stir up fear in the non-gun-owning public and maintain his faltering grip on power as the scandals in his government multiply almost daily.
In this video I give an explanation of what Trudeau's government says it is planning to do and how it will, overnight, effectively make a huge proportion of hunting rifles illegal.

Bill C-21 Changes: Is Now the Time To Get An Authorization To Carry? (4K)
This video explores the possibility more Canadians are eligible to obtain an Authorization To Carry (ATC) than is commonly assumed. Because Trudeau's handgun freeze provides an exemption for ATC holders, now is a good time to examine this topic more closely; it may be worth the pile of paperwork and additional expense now!

Handgun Freeze in Canada - What You May Not Know
As many Canadian gun owners are aware, the government has tabled unfair changes to firearms regulations intended to make the buying, selling and transferring of handguns unlawful so that, once you pass on, your property can be confiscated and destroyed.
There are, however, important exemptions to this proposed law you should be aware of if you own a handgun (or ever want to in the future). This video takes a close look at what those exemptions are and who they apply to.
For legal information related to gun ownership in Canada, check out the channel, "Runkle Of The Bailey" at: https://www.youtube.com/c/RunkleOfTheBailey

Ruger No. 1 ...in .45-120?
Check out this approach to a single-shot hunting rifle, especially if you want to hunt using cast bullets for your reloads. And reload you will, if you use this gun because it's chambered in .45-120; a cartridge no longer manufactured (although the brass still is).
We even managed to get Matthew Quigley to stop by and share a few pointers!
Cast bullets are great, but they do have their limitations compared to jacketed when it comes to maximum velocities (and even expansion). So what to do? Well, shoot a heavier bullet (535 grain in this case) and make a bigger hole to begin with! (.45 cal)
The rifle shown in this video is a Ruger No. 1, custom-chambered for a cartridge and in a manner not often seen. Highly effective and proven in the field on Canada's majestic moose, it's use of peep sights instead of open or scope makes this a fast-shooting and highly accurate firearm.
This video is recorded in 4K video with much-improved sound quality.

How To Make Your Own Carrying Cases Using Leather
In this video I show how to design and make various carrying cases out of leather - right down to the stitching and moulding techniques.
The example used is for carrying camera equipment (a "DJI Pocket 2" camera with accessories), but the methods taught will apply to almost anything you decide to make.
Once you know how to work with leather, the projects possible are endless. In addition to being highly useful, leather working is an enjoyable hobby, all on its own. Plus it requires very little in the way of equipment to get started.

DJI Pocket 2 Camera & Accessories - 4K Video Camera for Outdoor Enthusiasts
In this video I share some information about a 4K video camera I think is amazing for outdoors people due to its in-your-shirt-pocket size, gimble head stabilization and high picture quality. For solo adventures, you can sit it on a small tripod and it will track as you work, using built-in A.I..
In addition, there are a number of accessories I recommend getting, along with a unique carrying case I make, to give you an idea of what is possible.
The best camera is one you have with you and this one fills that bill. To fit your active lifestyle, there is no need to lug around bulky cameras in order to get high quality footage anymore.

The Path Foretold - Dene Thá History and The Impact of Residential Schools on Language
My wife (Nikeeya) and co-content-creator on this channel has many stories to tell about the lives and teachings of her people, the Dene Thá of northern Alberta, Canada.
This is a rather uplifting video, accompanied by drum music and historical photos from the time as she shares a remarkable prophecy her grandfather uttered regarding her future (which came true), how they survived off the land in the old days, her time spent in an Indian Residential School during the 50's and 60's and how that affected the continued use of their language.
