2024 Solar Eclipse
We were in Texas to do some ministry work with a Christian organization during the month prior to the eclipse. Knowing that the eclipse would occur near the end our project I made plans to stick around in Texas until April 8 to try my hand at shooting a time lapse of the eclipse.
I made an RV campground reservation in Granbury, TX. With months of planning I determined that my Sigma 15-600mm f/5.6-6.1 lens would be the best to mate up to my Canon R5 for the shoot. I ordered up an Astrpzap Baader Visual Solar filter to mount on my lens. I used a Celestron AVX editorial mount. I used the SET'n'C Ver. 4.18.1.0 Solar Eclipse Timer and Camera Controller software to control my camera. I had it set to take one shot per minute during the pre and post totality portions of the eclipse. During totality I had it set to take a 9 shot bracketed set as rapidly as possible. I edited this video using VAGAS Pro 21. The RAW images from my R5 were preprocessed in Adobe Camera RAW into TIF format for importing into VAGAS
One of the reasons I choose Granbury, TX was because a childhood friend lived there whom I hadn't seen in 35+ years. On Sunday we had an opportunity to attend Triple Cross Cowboy Church with them. During the service the worship team sang "How Great Thou Art" in recognition of the up coming eclipse. I recorded their performance and have used it as background music for this video. For me this song reminds me of what an awesome Creator God, Jesus Christ, we serve. On Monday during the eclipse this song was playing in my mind as I watched the eclipse occur.

1.55 Gigapixel Focus Stacked View of '70 SS Chevelle
This is a virtual tour of a photo I just finished processing. Some 2871 individual focus bracketed photos went into creating this. Shot with Canon 5R, 200mm lens, f/13, 1/125th sec., 400 ISO.
These were focus stacked to create a 5 row x 13 column set of focus stacked images that were stitched to form yesterday's post with the hood of the car closed. I shot a second set of images 3 rows x 13 columns with the hood open. I focus stacked each image with Helicon Focus software. I then imported all the focus stacked images into PTGui and stitched them together creating a version with hood closed and a second image with the hood open. I then imported both images as layers into Photoshop. I masked off the area of the hood in the hood closed version to allow the engine to be visible trough the hood.
The overall finished image is 1.55 Gigapixels, 106" H x 161" W.

Yellowstone Falls Sunrise Wall Mural Virtual Tour
This is a 4K UHD video virtual tour of a Wall Mural I shoot on June 28, 2019, 5:40AM. -- The Yellowstone Falls had eluded me for several years. Always at the top of my bucket list of locations begging to have a Gigapixel photo shot at, I finally managed to be in the area with good weather. We got up at 3:45AM to drive the 45 miles from West Yellowstone to be at the overlook for sunrise. The good Lord blessed us with nice blue skies and a beautiful morning with no smoke or wind. This was the first time I ever witnessed a sunrise at Yellowstone Falls and I stood in awe as God painted the canyon with new sunlight. Known as the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, the early morning light played on the canyon walls casting shadows across the deep cuts in the walls of the canyon giving testimony as to why this land is called "Yellowstone".
This image shot with Canon 5DSR, Canon 300mm lens, f/13, 1/160th sec. exposure, ISO 160. This Gigarama is made up of 200 individual images (8 rows x 25 columns)
The original image is: 4.69 Gaga-pixels, 48,417 x 96,835 pixels, 161" x 323" 300 PPI ( 13.4 ft. x 26.9 ft.) un- cropped image size

The campground owner told us that they had Northern Lights 2 nights before and we should check about mid-night to see if they were showing. I got up about 1:30AM and went out to check and this is what I found.
