We lost our Buzzard Tree … a beautiful old Oak Tree that “bit the dust” 2-3 years ago and decided to put its remains to good use before it fell on our hog fence… or a guest walking the trails.

The Briarhill Middle School Family Adventure weekend on Lake Godstone north of Possum Kingdom Lake was much fun for the 57 kids and parents who stayed at the lodge, our cabins, tentsites and group campgrounds this last weekend. #LakeGodstone

It seems easy to build a lake but it takes a great amount of expertise and professional knowledge and supervision to produce the safest and most productive wildlife habitat. This documentary takes you through the seven month period of time it took to build the forty (40) foot deep Lake Godstone at Marluc Bella Vita Ranch in 2016 under the supervision of Norvill Construction of Jacksboro, Texas and Lake Excavating of Bryson, Texas with input from the Texas Natural Resource Commission of Jacksboro, Texas, Zack Zeitler of Double Z Surveying of Jacksboro, Texas and Jeff Crannell Engineering of Highland Village, Texas.

Marluc Bella Vita Ranch has a Crawfish Pond maintained by our lake water purification system backwashing sediment into the pond every morning. Sometimes our brainless crawfish grow to a giant size and they think they are indestructible as the travel from pond to lake where 5 lb large mouth bass await...

Marluc Bella Vita Ranch has a number of secluded, large campsites above its forested lake available for rent. Each one has a large firepit, charcoal grill, water and power (20/30 amp) connections, wifi, and drive-through capability. A comfort station with showers and toilets is a short walk away. The fishing and boating (non-motorized) docks, 4-mile hike and bike trail (no motorized bikes) and the sports complex is available to guests.

Five new 12’x12’ fishing docks are being setup at Marluc Bella Vita Ranch. They feature a fish prep shelf, steps, mooring posts and a roof.

Nothing is more spectacular and worthy of a morning devotion than a beautiful sunrise at dawn.

With plenty of food this spring our young coyotes are healthy.

Marluc Bella Vita Ranch has a newly stocked Crappie Pond below the Lake and a new 3/4 hp surface aeration pump was easily installed in the middle of the pond.
