On May 18th 2002 Micky Ward faced Arturo Gatti in the first fight of their epic trilogy. In what many consider one of the greatest fight of all time the pair went back and forth over the course of 10 rounds in the Mohegan Sun Arena, Montville, Connecticut, U.S.A. The pair went on to fight each other 2 more times in the over the next 12 months with Ward retiring shortly after their last fight. Gatti went on to become a multiple world time champion and fight the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr before his untimely death at just 37 years old. 37 years ago today Mike Tyson scored his 15th straight KO in his first 10 months as a pro in 50 seconds against Mark Young. His 11th KO in the first round in 15 fights. This run would stretch another 4 fights before James Tillis finally brought Tyson the distance in his 20th pro fight.
