Israel Is Returning Home To Their Father's Land Jesus told how the Good Shepherd leaves the 99 to go after that one lost sheep. Israel's population is that 1 percent, and the Good Shepherd is bringing that lost one home to the Father's land. Then Jesus told the greatest short story ever (Charles Dickens said so), and talked about the son who left his Father, and wanted nothing to do with him anymore. He set out and went off to a far away land, and lived a life away from his father. When that son spent all of his inheritance, he lost all of his so-called friends. Then a severe famine came, and he was starving. One of those foreigners gave him a job feeding the pigs. He was so hungry, that even the pig slop, the stinky pig food was what he ate - This is like the Jewish people during the Holocaust. Then, he finally came to his senses and planned to RETURN TO HIS FATHER'S LAND. He thought that he was better off as a hired servant for his father than what he was doing now. So, he planned on telling his father sorry, and humbled himself to return home. The Father, saw him from a far away distance, even before he came all the way home. The Father was filled with compassion for his lost son, and he began to bless him and started a big celebration feast for his returning son. Meanwhile, the other son was in the field harvesting and he heard the sound of the celebration. When he found out the Father was welcoming his lost son home, he began to get angry, and he argued with his father about this. But his father said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’” (Luke 15:31,32 NASB) Many churches today hate the nation of Israel! Why? Because they are like that other son who was envious and he did not want him returning home. The Father has made it very clear in His word, that Israel will be saved! Lord, Remember Me You know, as well as I do that I certainly do not have all the answers, and I agree with you that the Good News of Jesus has been made so complicated. Here is what simplifies it for me, I know Jesus, and I know he did an amazing thing for me the day I surrendered my life to him - the rest of it is just a complicated mess. So, for me, it is as simple as it was for that one criminal, "Lord, remember me," and He will. The other did not confess that he was a sinner. He never called Jesus Lord, and he never asked him to remember him. Both of those men are a picture of us all! We all have a choice to make. One made it public and decided we'll for himself. See Jesus in Genesis 38: Jesus in the Old Testament You have read through Joseph's story starting in Genesis 37, but when you read Genesis 38 you did not understand how this fits into Joseph's story. Here is the key to understanding Genesis 38: You must see Joseph's story as Jesus's story, and understand the history around Jesus's life, his rejection, death and resurrection. As you look at it through this lens, you see how Israel and Jesus had been separated for a long time. But that is not the end of this family story. God had his plan play out perfectly the whole time. You see Judah depart with his staff and seal. This has an amazing resemblance to what happened around 7 AD in Jerusalem. The Sanhedrin wept in the streets and cried out, "The Scepter has departed from Judah, but Shiloh has not come". They cried this out because there was an ancient prophecy in Genesis 49, where Jacob tells the fate of each of his son's lineage, their tribes. In this, he prophesied that the Scepter and the Staff shall not depart from Judah until Shiloh (Messiah) comes. In 7 AD, the Romans took away the Judicial power of Judah, from the Sanhedrin and this was the first time that Israel could no longer rule over their own people in Judicial matters. Another words, they lost the Scepter, the "Rulers Staff", and they thought Messiah had not come. However, Jesus was already there, on the scene and walking among them. Joseph is the biggest picture of Jesus in the Old Testament. Both Joseph and Jesus had Tunics dipped in blood. In Genesis 37, Joseph's brothers presented the tunic and a lie to their father Israel. See Joseph As A Type Of Jesus: Watch now and see how Joseph was a foreshadowing, a picture and portrait of Jesus. His tunic was dipped in blood and we see in Revelation that Jesus is clothed in a tunic dipped in blood. His brothers convinced their father, Israel, that he was devoured by a wild animal. In Psalm 22:16 (verse 17 in the Hebrew Bibles), it originally said, "They pierced my hands and my feet", but it was changed around 1000 CE or AD to, "Like a Lion". This is what we see in Joseph's prophetic story because they lied to Israel about Joseph. They told their father Israel to examine the tunic to see if it was Joseph's. Today many expert scientists have examined the Shroud of Turin, and they have concluded that it was a Jewish man, who was crucified from the time of Jesus, and that he had the same wounds as Jesus. They are also perplexed by the image on the cloth, the burial garment that looks like Jesus. They cannot explain how it got there because it shows evidence of a bright light that put an image on the cloth. This speaks of what we see in Joseph's story as they told their father to examine the garment to see if it is Joseph's. Joseph & Christ: How to Find Jesus in the OT Watch now and see Jesus in Joseph's story like never before! You will learn how he was sent by his father out of Hebron (Means: Fellowship), finds his brothers shepherding the father's flock in Dothan (Means: Laws and Customs). This is how Jesus found the Religious leaders (Shepherds) of Israel. When Joseph approached them, they conspired to murder him. He was sold for pieces of silver, and his brother Judah came up with this plan - the name Judas derives from the name Judah. Joseph was thrown in the pit - like the tomb. He was handed over to the Gentiles and at that point, he was out of their lives for many, many years - like Israel and Jesus. His brothers came up with a lie, a lie that lasted a long time until Israel discovered HE WAS ALIVE! What was the lie? That a wild animal had devoured Joseph. This is so similar to how the text in Psalm 22:16 (17) was changed: "they bite like a lion my hands and my feet". So, just like Joseph's story, this lie has been going on for a long time and it was a lie to ISRAEL. But we see that in Joseph's story that ISRAEL discovers that he is alive! When did this happen? During the 7 year time of Great Trouble (The famine over all the earth). That speaks of the 7 Year Great Tribulation Period (Daniel's 70th week (7 year period). This verse, which is Psalm 22:17 in the Hebrew verse numbering, reads in most versions of the Masoretic Text as: כארי ידי ורגלי, which may be read literally as "like a lion my hands and my feet". The full verse of the Masoretic Text reads: כִּ֥י סְבָב֗וּנִי כְּלָ֫בִ֥ים עֲדַ֣ת מְ֭רֵעִים הִקִּיפ֑וּנִי כָּ֝אֲרִ֗י יָדַ֥י וְרַגְלָֽי (Kî sĕḇāḇûnî kĕlāḇîm 'ăḏaṯ mĕrē'îm hiqqîp̄ûnî kā'ărî yāḏay wĕraḡlāy). The syntactical form of this Hebrew phrase appears to be lacking a verb. In this context the phrase was commonly explained in early Rabbinical paraphrases as "they bite like a lion my hands and my feet". The Septuagint, (The oldest manuscripts) a Jewish translation of the Hebrew Bible into Koine Greek made before the Christian Era, has "ὤρυξαν χεῗράς μου καὶ πόδας" ("they dug or bore through my hands and feet"), which Christian commentators argue could be understood in the general sense as "pierced". Is it not amazing how God told this prophetic story of His Son Yeshua (Jesus) in the story of Yosef (Joseph)? This was not by chance, only God could do this.
