Gambia Refugee, Human Rights Advocate, and Founder of a Socioeconomic Development Agency Omar Bah
Omar Bah was one of the most respected and effective journalists in The Gambia. At the age of 21, while The Gambia was under the control of a dictator, Bah sought to become a human rights lawyer to fight rampant political corruption and injustice. Owing to the law program’s foreign travel requirement, Bah shifted his focus onto journalism and specialized in court and political reporting.
Over the ensuing years, Bah built a reputation as one of the country’s most respected and effective journalists. Due to his persistence and resilience, he became one of the world’s most wanted journalists. In 2001 Bah was kidnapped while reporting on a secret trial taking place at a military barracks. He was attacked, tortured, and confined to a closet-sized cell by soldiers, who left him with several injuries. He was held until several witnesses, human rights workers, and fellow journalists called for his release. Still, he remained a journalist. At the age of 26, Bah found himself the target of a national manhunt owing to his criticism of the totalitarian state. After a dangerous journey, he found refuge in Rhode Island, where he would embark on a professional and personal journey that would impact the lives of thousands of Rhode Islanders. A year after fleeing persecution, fate brought him from the smallest nation in mainland-Africa to the smallest state in the United States. Dr. Bah challenged a brutal authoritarian and was fortunate to escape with his life. He knows what it takes to stand up for progressive change, and he is running to fight for that change for every Rhode Islander.

Different Strokes: Serena, Venus, and the Unfinished Black Tennis Revolution Cecil Harris
The days of tennis as a country club sport for the aristocracy have long passed, as have the pre–Open era days when Black players faced long odds just to be invited to the four Grand Slam events. An entire generation of sports fans has grown up seeing Venus and Serena Williams as the gold standard in American professional tennis.
Although the Williams sisters have done more than any other players to make tennis accessible to a diverse population, it’s not as if the tennis revolution is over. When you watch tennis next, take a close look at the umpire, the person sitting in the high chair of authority at courtside. Look at the tournament referee and the tournament director, the officials who run the tournament. In those seats of power and influence, Blacks are still woefully underrepresented.
Different Strokes chronicles the rise of the Williams sisters, as well as other champions of color, closely examining how Black Americans are collectively faring in tennis, on the court and off. Despite the success of the Williams sisters and the election of former pro player Katrina Adams as the U.S. Tennis Association’s first Black president, top Black players still receive racist messages via social media and sometimes in public. The reality is that while significant progress has been made in the sport, much work remains before anything resembling equality is achieved.

Africa On The Rise! China/US Fighting to Influence Africa! China/Russia Stealing African Resources
Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want.
AGENDA 2063 is Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the continent’s strategic framework that aims to deliver on its goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance The genesis of Agenda 2063 was the realisation by African leaders that there was a need to refocus and reprioritise Africa’s agenda from the struggle against apartheid and the attainment of political independence for the continent which had been the focus of The Organisation of African Unity (OAU), the precursor of the African Union; and instead to prioritise inclusive social and economic development, continental and regional integration, democratic governance and peace and security amongst other issues aimed at repositioning Africa to becoming a dominant player in the global arena.
As an affirmation of their commitment to support Africa’s new path for attaining inclusive and sustainable economic growth and development African heads of state and government signed the 50th Anniversary Solemn Declaration during the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the formation of the OAU /AU in May 2013. The declaration marked the re-dedication of Africa towards the attainment of the Pan African Vision of An integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens, representing a dynamic force in the international arena and Agenda 2063 is the concrete manifestation of how the continent intends to achieve this vision within a 50 year period from 2013 to 2063. The Africa of the future was captured in a letter presented by the former Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr. Nkosazana Dlaminin Zuma.
The need to envision a long-term 50 year development trajectory for Africa is important as Africa needs to revise and adapt its development agenda due to ongoing structural transformations; increased peace and reduction in the number of conflicts; renewed economic growth and social progress; the need for people centered development, gender equality and youth empowerment; changing global contexts such as increased globalization and the ICT revolution; the increased unity of Africa which makes it a global power to be reckoned with and capable of rallying support around its own common agenda; and emerging development and investment opportunities in areas such as agri-business, infrastructure development, health and education as well as the value addition in African commodities
Agenda 2063 encapsulates not only Africa’s Aspirations for the Future but also identifies key Flagship Programmes which can boost Africa’s economic growth and development and lead to the rapid transformation of the continent.
Agenda 2063 also identifies key activities to be undertaken in its 10 year Implementation Plans which will ensure that Agenda 2063 delivers both quantitative and qualitative Transformational Outcomes for Africa’s people

Talking Bryant Winning the NEC Championship, NCAA Tourney Bid, and 2022-2023 Season and Recruiting
Phil Martelli, Jr. joined the Bryant staff in April 2018 as an assistant coach and was promoted to Associate Head Coach in August of 2020. He begins his fifth year on the Bryant sidelines in 2022-23.
Martelli has helped the Black and Gold become one of the premier mid-majors in the country. Bryant has won 62 games during his four years on the sidelines, while claiming the 2022 NEC Regular Season and Tournament titles and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
Bryant won a DI program record 22 games in 2021-22, finishing its season with a 22-10 record. The Black and Gold featured one of the nation's premier shot blockers in Hall Elisias, and ranked first in the conference in rebounds per game. Elisias set the Bryant DI program record with 202 blocks.
The 20-21 season was one of Bryant's best, as the Bulldogs went 15-7 and advanced to the Northeast Conference Championship for the first time in school history. Bryant's defense ranked eighth nationally in three-point percentage defense, while its offense ranked in the top five nationally in both scoring and tempo.
The Bulldogs have ranked in the top three in the NEC in field goal percentage defense and three-point field goal defense in each of the last three seasons.
Martelli arrives in Smithfield after spending the 2017-18 season at his alma mater, Saint Joseph’s, as the Hawks’ director of program administration. His stint in Philadelphia follows a year in the NBA G-League with the Delaware 87ers (now Delaware Blue Coats) and 13 seasons as a Division I assistant coach.
Prior to his year with the G-League affiliate in Delaware, Martelli coached for five seasons on the staff at the University of Delaware, where he helped the Blue Hens to an NCAA tournament appearance in 2014. The Blue Hens set a program-best mark for conference wins over a five-year stretch (55) and placed eight players on CAA all-conference teams, along with two all-rookie, two all-defensive and four all-academic team honorees. Seven Blue Hens saw time professionally from the teams Martelli coached at Delaware.
From 2006 to 2011, Martelli was an assistant coach at Niagara, helping the Purple Eagles to a 95-69 record in his five years, including the 2007 MAAC Tournament title and a victory in the NCAA Tournament.
He also served in the same position at Manhattan in 2005-06, while beginning his career in 2003 at Central Connecticut as the youngest (22) full-time assistant coach in Division I at that time.
A 2003 alum of Saint Joseph’s, Martelli was a four-year player for the Hawks and a member of the teams that made NCAA Tournament appearances in 2001 and 2003. A team co-captain in 2002-03 with Jameer Nelson, he received his bachelor's degree from SJU in marketing.
Martelli and his wife Meghan have three children - a daughter, Marra, and sons Philip and Nathan.

Millennial Fighter Running in the Most Rural District in Florida Danielle Hawk For Congress FL-3
www.daniellehawk.com
Danielle has been fighting for everyday people her entire life. Growing up in suburban Philadelphia, Danielle learned the value of hard work from her parents who made ends meet for their three children while still managing to care for others. Her parents’ community-oriented approach to life instilled in her the critical importance of living a life of compassion towards and service for others. From a young age, Danielle has always prioritized spending her free time volunteering at community organizations and leading through service, like when she organized a community-wide project to deliver Christmas gifts to our troops stationed overseas.
Danielle volunteered in Central America where she participated in a year-long program supporting impoverished and orphaned children in El Salvador and Guatemala. After returning to the U.S., she attended college in South Florida, where she started a career in higher education before settling in Gainesville. Danielle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Biola University.
Throughout her life, Danielle has consistently advocated for doing what’s right. As an administrator in higher education, she pushed for a more equitable distribution of scholarship funding to permit more low-income students to access international education opportunities. During the height of the pandemic, Danielle organized with local community leaders to secure a safe work environment for university staff and faculty. Most recently, she co-organized the North Central Florida March for Reproductive Freedom and Justice to challenge Republican efforts to reverse landmark civil rights protections. Danielle has demonstrated herself to be a talented, dedicated, and passionate organizer in our community through her political engagement and persistent activism on behalf of the downtrodden, exploited, and impoverished.
Whether it’s pushing for more equitable policies in the workplace, organizing protests for worker safety, or speaking truth to power, Danielle understands how to address the critical issues confronting our community. Danielle is running for Congress because as an active constituent of Florida’s 3rd District and working-class resident of Alachua County, she recognizes that our district’s challenges demand community-first leadership.
