Koh Rang Snorkeling Tour From Koh Mak - Thailand 2024
Snorkeling is one of the most popular activities for visitors to Koh Mak, Koh Kut and Koh Chang. The best snorkelling sites rival those you’ll find in the south of Thailand. The visibility might not always be as good but you are guaranteed to see large schools of fish. This is an activity that definitely should be on your itinerary.
One of the best spots in the area is Koh Rang. It’s a small uninhabited island that is part of the national park. There are several other islands in the area that are dive and snorkel spots.
Starting at the pier in Koh Mak at 9 am it’s an all day trip with a lunch break around noon. Equipment and guides are provided as well as pickup from your hotel. Cost for the tour was 990 Baht that included a 150 Baht entrance fee for the national park. Thai nationals only pay 30 Baht for the national park fee.
The day we went the water was very rough and not as clear due to the rain. Even with that it was still enjoyable with being able to see the marine life.

Koh Kham - Amazing White Sand Beach - Boat Trip From Koh Mak Thailand 2024
A tiny Island, Koh Kham can be easily reached by motorboat or kayak from neighbouring Ko Mak. The distinguishing features are the black volcanic rocks in eye-catching shapes and formations dotted across the sand. Ko Kham is quiet and unspoiled with crystal clear waters, fine sand and coral reefs on the eastern side which are perfect for snorkeling and diving.
Entrance fee: 200 baht including one free drink plus 159 Baht for the boat round trip.
The island is a private island with a 6 star resort that is about 80% completed. It was raided in 2014 by the government and work stopped. It currently is tied down in litigation as it was deemed an illegal construction.
With the resort not open it’s still possible to visit the island and see one of the best powdery white sand beaches found anywhere.
The island is currently for sale at 1.5 billion Baht if anyone is interested in buying it after seeing this small but beautiful beach.

Ao Soun Yai Beach - Koh Mak Thailand 2024
This beach is also very beautiful and well known for perfect sunsets and a great view of the nearby island of Koh Kham.
Along this beach are only 3 resorts and they share 3 km of this sandy beach.
It is hard to say if this beach or Ao Kao is more beautiful. This beach has a lot less development than Ao Kao so it is much more secluded but still has all of the amenities visitors look for.
The beauty of the beach varies a lot from the season of the year and the weather. The tide and wind can affect how you see the beach. At low tide you will find a lot more of the seaweed on sections of the beach. You may also have higher winds that make it less enjoyable. On of the best things about this island is that it’s small enough that if it’s windy here just cross to the far side of the island and find the right place to relax.
At this beach you find in front of the Koh Mak Resort the pier where the Panan Speedboat departs and arrives. You can travel to Koh Kham also from here for 350 Baht a person and see the amazing white sand beach on that small island.

How to get from Bangkok to Koh Mak, Koh Kut (Koh Kood) & Koh Chang - Thailand 2024
Getting to the wonderful island of Koh Mak, Koh Chang or Koh Kut isn’t as difficult as it might seem when planning a trip. The first part is you’ll have to figure out how to get from Bangkok to Trat. The last part of the journey will be by passenger boat as there aren’t any vehicle ferres to the island. So traveling door to door in the same vehicle isn’t possible.
Many take the bus to Trat and then spend a night in the town before traveling to the islands the next morning. It’s also possible to fly and do the ferry trip to the island that day or the next morning. Either way that is the most difficult part. Once you are in Trat the next step is to get to the ferry pier.
Another option is to arrange a bus with a ferry transfer from Bangkok and one of the piers in Trat. One company that provides service from Khao San Road in Bangkok to the islands is Boonsiri. For 1,100 Baht, one way, it’s a simple and easy way to get to the islands. They provide service to Koh Kut, Koh Mak and Koh Chang on the same bus/ ferry. 1,100 Baht with lunch is the cost to the second stop of Koh Mak on this route.
Here is what to expect on the trip.

Ao Kao Beach (White Sand Beach) - Koh Mak Thailand 2024 - Most Popular Beach on the Island
This is the most popular beach with 12 little resorts along this beach. Ao Kao Beach is about 5 km long, so you will find a lot of quiet spots here to enjoy this beautiful beach.
This beach is considered one of the most romantic areas on the island. The beauty of this beach is –like everywhere in the world- changes from high and low-tide.
Some people prefer the high-tide, so you just walk a few steps until the water is deep enough to swim. Some prefer the low-tide, so you have more of the sandy beach.
From here, you can enjoy nice sunsets and a view of Koh Rayang Nok and Koh Rayang Nai. Coconut trees and sea pines line the back of the beach making for some very scenic pictures.
Ao Kao Beach has the small pier for the Leelawadee Speedboat. It’s right in front of the Makathanee Resort giving easy access for visitors and day trips to other islands and snorkeling.
The beach has very nice sand. The water is perfect and a great place to stay on the island for beach lovers. The island is always very quiet so you will never have crowds on this long stretch of beautiful white sand.

Port FC vs Khon Kaen - Road Trip by Motorcycle for a Game
Port makes a road trip to the north east for an important game. Sitting second in the table they trail Buriram by 3 points. Khon Kaen always plays well at home so it makes for a good matchup.
I jump on the motorcycle and ride the 500 km to the stadium to watch the game.

Wat Samakeetham - Koh Mak’s Only Temple - Thailand 2024
Wat Koh Mak also known as Wat Samakeetham is the only temple on the island of Koh Mak.
Koh Mak is a small island located in the east of Thailand between Koh Chang and Koh Kut. It’s known as the green island and is popular for beach going tourists.
Located near Ao Nid Pier this small temple is perched on a hill giving visitors amazing ocean views.
The temple was originally established as a place to practice meditation. The locals have invested into it in order for it to be a proper temple to service the community. With the expansion they have built a small ordination hall that will be opened soon.
It’s a nice break from the beaches and the monks are very nice. They will be happy to tell you the history of the area as well as the temple.

Ton Tann Night Market - Largest in Khon Kaen - Thailand 2024
Khon Kaen is a city located in Northeastern Thailand. This town is not as well-known for its nightlife as some of the bigger cities like Bangkok, Phuket or Pattaya. But there are still plenty of options for those looking for some evening entertainment in Khon Kaen.
Of the seven night markets in Khon Kaen, Thailand Ton Tann Market is the largest and busiest. This market is more of an attraction than a conventional night market. Rather than a street where vendors set up their carts or vinyl tents, Ton Tann has boutique shops, restaurants, and live entertainment. Scattered throughout the shops are the traditional carts and tents, which add to making this the largest night market. Because of its size and location on Mittraphap highway, Ton Tann can handle the largest volume of people and has dedicated parking to handle the crowds.
The market is very large with plenty of food and shopping. There is something for everyone here. The market is open every evening from 4:00 until 11:00 pm. It’s a great activity to do in Khon Kaen in the evening, out of the heat of the day.

Wat Thung Setthi วัดทุ่งเศรษฐี - Beautiful Modern Temple - Khon Kaen Thailand 2024
Wat Thung Setthi วัดทุ่งเศรษฐี Khon Kaen province, is a relatively new Thai Buddhist temple. Wat Thung Setthi means Temple of the Millionaire's Field, meaning that people who make merit here are, or will become, millionaires.
There is a temple of the same name in Bangkok and a ruined temple of that name in near the Ramnarong Gate outside the Si Satchanalai Historical Park.
Wat Thung Setthi is somewhat different from the typical Thai temple because of its white exterior with gold and blue accents, rather than the traditional gold and red temples seen throughout the country.
Its location is surrounded by rice fields as it sits in a still rural open atmosphere, about a 15 minute drive from town. The wat grounds cover approximately 29 acres. Its planning and construction began in 1999 by Luangta Oy. The developer was a strong supporter of the Dheravata Doctrine of Luangpu-Mon Puritatto to proclaim Buddhism to laymen in northeast Thailand. According to Luangta Oy, the temple was not only built for worshippers to make merit but as a tribute to pay homage to the then living King Rama IX and the rulling dynasty. Major construction was completed in 2012.
The site location was believed to be holy land where the three worlds of heaven, earth and the underworld intersect.
The major structure on the grounds is the Maha Rattana Chedi Sri Trai Loka Dhatu which contains a relic of the Buddha, a crystal sacred lower right tooth and was the final major building dedicated in 2012. Since the chedi is located at the intersection of the three worlds, those who come to worship will pay respect to the three chedis of the three worlds simultaneously.
What makes the temple unique are the contemporary touches such as the etchings in the glass windows, which are usually shown as engraving or carving on wood at other Buddhist temples. The themes depicted are all labelled in English as well as Thai and are between ancient Buddhist moralistic tales mingled with very modern interpretations of those same moral values.
The styling of the temple is very unique and was nicely done. It’s a short drive outside of Khon Kaen and was a nice place to visit.

Prasat Pueai Noi ปราลาทเชื่อยน้อย - 11th Century Khmer Temple - Khon Kaen Thailand 2024
Prasat Pueai Noi is a Khmer sanctuary located in Pueai Noi, Khon Kaen, Thailand. It is believed to have been built in the 16th-17th century, of the Buddhist calendar, as a place to perform Hindu religious rituals.
The sanctuary consists of three main buildings and a library surrounded by a moat representing Mount Meru.
Each pagoda has a sandstone lintel with designs and a smaller chapel and a lintel with clear, lovely designs.
A laterite wall surrounds the compound, and there is a pool just beyond it. The place is still well-preserved, and the lintel depicting reclining Vishnu is still rich in detail. It is noticeable that it has been renovated but that doesn’t take away from the styling at this temple.
The ruins are about an hour to an hour and a half south of Khon Kaen. It’s not large but it is very secluded. You can explore without the large crowds and is worth special trip for anyone that enjoys this part of the regions history.

Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market - Bangkok Thailand 2024
Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market ตลาดน้ำบางน้ำผึ้ง is in Bang Nam Phueng Subdistrict, Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan Province adjacent to Wat Bang Nam Phueng Nai temple and considered as a part of Bang Kachao, a nice area on a bend of the Chao Phraya River.
The market was inaugurated in 2004 by the local subdistrict authority to help locals move an oversupply of agricultural products. Its vendors limited to people from the community. The market is on a canal surrounded by a residential neighborhood. Products include commercial crops such as fruits and sweets, noodles, processed food, sea shells, dried shrimp, pickled shrimp, desserts, grain cakes, and fruit.
With a seemingly endless variety of snacks and Thai food as well as souvenirs it’s a great place for anyone to visit. Open on the weekends and being very near the center of Bangkok it’s easy to get to and you can make it part of a day trip by visiting other sites like the park in Bang Kachao. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wat Prot Ket Chettharam Samut Prakan - 200 Year Old Temple - Thailand 2024
Wat Prot Ket Chettharam Phra Pradaeng, Samut Prakan is an important temple established in Rama III's reign. Its architecture received Chinese influence with an exceptional gable decorated with delicate ceramics. It is the only Thai Buddhist temple in Phra Pradaeng, as other temples within the area are Mon style Buddhist temples.
Wat Prot Ket was built by Phraya Phetphichai ( Ket ) during the reign of King Rama II in Chinese architecture style, without the traditional Thai style roof decorations.
Phra Pradaeng was the original center of the area south of Bangkok near the mouth of the Chao Phraya river. Originally named Nakhon Khuan Khan it was settled by Mon people.
In 1815, King Rama II built the Pom Phlaeng Faifa fort at the river bend. The fort is now located in a small park and accessible for visitors.
The temple has several interesting things to see. It’s said to contain the largest reclining Buddha in Samar Prakan as well as a sala that was used by King Eama VIII and Rama IX (when he was the prince before becoming king himself) in 1946.

Wat Phraya Tham - Royal Temple in Bangkok Noi - Unique 20m Bell Tower - Thailand 2024
Wat Phraya Tham - Ayutthaya Era Temple in Bangkok
The historic structure, nicknamed the “Giant Stupa” for having four giant sculptures surrounding it is a historic temple in the Bangkok Noi area of the city. The unique structure was being restored when part of it collapsed injuring 11 and killing 1 worker in 2018.
The temple is a third class royal monastery built in the late Ayutthaya era. The temple was formerly called Wat Nak. It was later restored by Chao Phraya Rattanathibet (Kun) and renamed Wat Phraya Tham in dedication to Thai King Rama II.
The temple was restored again during the reign of King Rama III. The whole temple was restored during this renovation including the bell tower/ naga stupa.
The temple features an ordination hall and 2 chedi (pagodas) that are built in the Thai style popular during the reign of King Rama I. There is also a large chedi with 12 indented corners built in front of the ubosot.
Inside the hall there is a wooden pulpit with Kanok motif wood carvings. The pulpit carvings show off amazing wood carvings with late Ayutthaya craftsmanship. It is said to be the second finest examples of this period that is incorporated into the wooden pulpits.
The temple is small but the style of the bell tower is unique. The tower is called a chedi in some write ups but the fine arts department calls it a bell tower in all of their documents at the site. There is a modern bell/ drum tower in addition to the one that is being renovated but it is not as impressive.
The temple is near Wat Arun and a few other sites and worth a visit to see this tower if you are in the area.

Tha Din Daeng Community & Market - Bangkok Thailand 2024
Tha Din Daeng is one of the oldest traditional market in Bangkok, Thailand. It has no clear evidence to show when it was established. It is believed to have been established during the early Ayutthaya period. This is a famous market because of the location of it which the Thais call “the golden place”.
Tha Din Daeng is located at Tha din dang Rd, Khet Khlong San, Bangkok. It is on the bank of the Chao Phraya River. This area are connect to Yarawit (China town), Sampeng and Pahurat which are important markets on the other side of the river.
In this Ayutthaya era, this area used to be breakpoint for cargo transport before sailing to Ayutthaya. The river route was long with many curves so this was an important location to switch boats from sea faring to river boats to make the rest of the journey.
During the early Bangkok era up to King Rama IV’s reign this area was an important industrial and shipping region.
Industry like rice mills, sawmills, warehouses and shipyards were all here. It was also where Chinese and Malay Muslims conducted business and later trade with Europeans took place.
Today the area is known for its historic market and important Chinese shrines. Many of the people in the area trade goods that are used in traditional foods and products.
This is a great area of the city. It has the feel of Chinatown but without the huge crowds.

Wat Phitchaya Yatikaram วัดพิชยญาติการาม 2nd Class Royal Temple - Thonburi Thailand 2024
Wat Phitchaya Yatikaram วัดพิชยญาติการาม is a 2nd class royal temple in Thonburi. It was restored around 1830 by Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Pichaiyat (That Bunnag) during the reign of King Rama III. That Bunnag was a successful trader with China and the architecture of the temple reflects the Chinese influences that were fashionable during this time. A statue of him seated is in front of the temple. His wife built the adjacent Wat Anongkharam.
The most notable feature of the temple is the massive 42 meter tall prang. Inside the prang are four Buddha images are seated looking out at each of the cardinal directions. Smaller prangs east and west of the main prang house an image of the Maitrya Buddha (The future Buddha) in the east and footprints of the four Buddhas (The last four incarnations of the Buddha) to the west. The prangs also contain the ashes of That Bunnag’s family.
The inside of the ubosot is finely decorated with some beautiful paintings in Chinese style of maritime voyages on the main pillars. The main Buddha image Phra Sittharot is in Sukhothai style.
The temple is said to be the most beautiful temple in Thonburi. It is very nice and well worth a visit. It’s off the normal tourist trail so you won’t have massive crowds while you explore this historic site.

Princess Mother Memorial Park - Bangkok Thailand 2024
The Princess Mother Memorial Park อุทยานเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี, often shortened to สวนสมเด็จย่าฯ, Suan Somdet Ya is a park in Bangkok, Thailand. It was established in 1993, and opened on January 21, 1997, by King Bhumibol Adulyadej, in remembrance of his mother, Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother.
The park contains gardens and a reproduction of the royal mother's childhood home, as well as two exhibition halls showing memorabilia of the princess and the royal family and a pavilion with a statue of the princess. There is also a souvenir shop which sells items from charitable foundations and social welfare organisations which used to be under her patronage; the profits go to help the poor and the destitute.
The park is in Khlong San District, close to the banks of the Chao Phraya River, near the south end of Phra Pok Klao Bridge, on Soi Somdet Chao Phraya 3, next to the Gong Wu Shrine.
This park is dedicated to the mother of King Rama IX, who is believed to have devoted her energy to improving the lives of Thai people.
A small green space in the city but still very nice. The information and pictures of the King’s mother and family are very informative. It’s worth an hour or two for a visit.

Wat Prayun - “Turtle Mountain Temple” - Second Class Royal Temple - Bangkok Thailand 2024
Wat Prayurawongsawat Worawihan, known in as Wat Prayun for short, is a 19th century Buddhist temple complex, located near the Memorial Bridge (Thonburi side) in Bangkok, Thailand.
The temple was built during the reign of King Rama III of the Thai Rattanakosin Kingdom. He was the king of Siam from 1824–1851. Rama III was the elder brother of Mongkut who succeeded him as King Rama IV in 1851.
Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Prayurawongse (Tish Bunnag) dedicated his own coffee estate to build a royal temple. Hence the name "Prayurawongsawat" in his honour.
Wat Prayurawongsawat Worawihan is a "second class level" of royal temples.
The fair to celebrate temple's 190th anniversary was held in January 2018.
Moreover, at the Chao Phraya River in front of the temple during the Ayutthaya period, it was believed as the stop of Zheng He's fleets when he traveled to Siam at the mouth of Chao Phraya River.
Main Stupa, an ancient white stupa of the temple build in the reign of King Mongkut, inside contains the Buddha's relics. This stupa received UNESCO Cultural Heritage Conservation Award of Excellence in 2013.
Khao Mo, a replica mountain of temple is located in the middle of the large pond. It is a rock garden surrounded by a number of miniature chedis and stupas, cathedrals, pavilion, and rare plants. It has been a place of peace and tranquility in the monastery for more than 180 years. The word "Khao Mo" derives from the Khmer word “t’mor” meaning rock. It was created as a representative of cosmic mountain Mount Meru. It is considered the largest and oldest replica mountain in Thailand.
In the pond around this replica mountain is also the habitat of turtles and soft-shelled turtles as well. In Buddhism, turtles are sacred animals. Common Buddhism beliefs dictate that restraint should be made against killing this animal. It has led to the ceremony of releasing the turtles. In Buddhism, turtles represent creation, endurance, strength and longevity. And for this reason, this temple has an unofficial name for general person "Wat Khao Tao" ("turtle mountain temple"). Khao Mo is registered as an ancient monument by the Fine Arts Department in 1979.
Three-cannons monument, the three downward-facing cannons on the white pedestal. It was created as a memorial to the first surgical event in Siam (now's Thailand) by American missionary Dan Beach Bradley that occurred at this temple in the 1836. It was erected as a memorial to those who lost their lives in an accident caused by the explosion of a cannon that was used for a firework display during a celebration at the temple. The accident resulted in seven deaths and a number of casualties.
Phra Prayu Phantakhan Museum, the Buddha images museum was originally a dhamma studies hall. It was built in 1885 as a place for monks and novices to study Buddhist scriptures. Later in 1916, the former Ministry of Public Instruction used this hall as the first public library in Thailand. In 2007, ancient relics of the Buddha and antiquities were discovered, as a result, Buddha’s relics from Sri Lanka was enshrined here, along with Buddha images and Buddhist amulets which were excavated.
I show you around this amazing temple and you can see and feel a bit of Thai history.

Wat Hua Lamphong - The Coffin Temple - Bangkok Thailand 2024
Wat Hua Lamphong (วัดหัวลำโพง), popularly known as is the coffin temple (วัดโลงศพ), it’s an authentic Buddhist temple where various aspects of Thai culture, traditions, and beliefs are observed regularly. The temple is part of the third class royal temples in Thailand, affiliated with Theravada Buddhism.
Wat Hua Lamphong is located at Rama IV Road (ถนนพระรามที่ 4), which was constructed by King Rama IV. He ordered the digging of the canal to enable easier trade and transportation in the area. The name of thee road at the time was Hua Lamphong Road (ถนนหัวลำโพง). The name was changed in 1919 to the current Rama IV Road during the reign of King Rama VI in memory of King Rama IV who ordered its construction. It’s also 1 kilometer away from Hua Lampong railway station, the old main railway station in Bangkok, that connected the capital with the rest of the country.
The reason why the temple is also known as the coffin temple is the partnership between the temple and an organization called Ruamkatanyu Foundation. They work hand in hand with the together to provide burial services for poor, homeless people and those who pass away without any known relatives. Visitors make donations to the foundation to support this worthy cause.
Wat Hua Lamphong was founded during the Rattanakosin Kingdom (อาณาจักรรัตนโกสินทร์). The Rattanakosin Kingdom is the fourth and current established center of government in the history of Thailand (or Siam). It was officially founded on 21 April 1782 with the establishment of Rattanakosin Island (เกาะรัตนโกสินทร์), the historic center of Bangkok, as the capital city by King Rama I.
The temple was later renovated in 1996 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ascension to the throne of King Bhumipol Adulyadej (กษัตริย์ภูมิพลอดุลยเดช), who became King on 9th June 1946 under the name of King Rama IX (พระรามที่ 9).
The temple is large and well maintained. It is also easy to get to by MRT with the Sam Yan station located right next to the entrance. It’s worth a visit for anyone that enjoys Thai temples.

Erawan Shrine - Bangkok Thailand - Popular Hindu Shrine
The Erawan Shrine, formally the Thao Maha Phrom Shrine ศาลท้าวมหาพรหม 'shrine of Lord Maha Brahma', is a shrine in Bangkok, Thailand, which houses a statue of Phra Phrom, the Thai representation of Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. The name also refer to Mahabrahma, the ruler of the Brahma realm in Buddhist cosmology.
The shrine often features performances by Thai dance troupes who are hired by worshippers in return for seeing their prayers answered at the shrine.
Five other shrines dedicated to Hindu deities are located in the area as well: Phra Laksami (Lakshmi), Phra Trimurati (Trimurti), Phra Khanet (Ganesha), Phra In (Indra), and Phra Narai Song Suban (Narayana on his garuda).
The Erawan Shrine was built in 1956 as part of the government-owned Erawan Hotel to eliminate the bad karma believed caused by laying the foundations on the wrong date.
The hotel's construction was delayed by a series of mishaps, including cost overruns, injuries to laborers, and the loss of a shipload of Italian marble intended for the building. Furthermore, the Ratchaprasong intersection had once been used to put criminals on public display.
An astrologer advised building the shrine to counter the negative influences. The Brahma statue was designed and built by the Department of Fine Arts and enshrined on 9 November 1956. The hotel's construction thereafter proceeded without further incident. In 1987, the hotel was demolished and the site used for the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel.
In the early hours of 21 March 2006, a young man named Thanakorn Pakdeepol destroyed the statue with a large hammer. He was then beaten to death by angry bystanders.
An identical statue of Brahma was placed in the shrine on 21 May 2006 at 11:39, at the instant the sun was directly overhead.
On 17 August 2015, at 18:55 local time, an explosive device composed of three kilograms of TNT stuffed in a metal pipe and wrapped in white cloth inside a backpack was detonated near the Erawan Shrine, killing 20 bystanders and injuring 125.
The bomb had been placed in the shrine grounds next to a metal railing. The statue itself was slightly damaged. It was repaired in two days and reopened to the public.
Beginning March 2020, incense and candles were no longer allowed to be lit at the shrine, due to health and environmental concerns.
The shrine is a very popular place for locals and tourists to visit. If you are in the area it’s worth a visit.

Port FC vs Prachuap Khiri Khan - Road Trip to the Sea - Thai League Football February 2024
Thais are very passionate about football. Port FC fans are among the most passionate in the league and they love to travel to support the team.
In this video we take a ride on a mini bus with the Port FC super fans to Pratchup Khiri Khan. It’s a coastal city about 4 to 5 hours south of Bangkok. It’s famous for being the home of the 3 bays. In addition to the 3 bays, featuring some very nice beaches, the town has a very traditional seaside with old wooden homes and businesses. Prachuap Khiri Khan is a great place to spend a few days relaxing on the beach and eating fresh seafood.
Along the way I show you some of the Thai countryside before stopping at an amazing beach, Ao Manow.
No road trip with Thai football fans would be complete without a stop at a temple to make merit before a game.

Ao Manao Beach อ่าวมะนาว - Beautiful & Relaxed Atmosphere - Thailand 2024
Ao Manao อ่าวมะนาว meaning "Lime Bay", is a bay in the west side of the Gulf of Thailand. It is five kilometres to the south of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
The bay lies south of Prachuap Bay. It is open towards the east and is bounded by steep limestone outcrops forming peninsulas to the north and to the south. There are two islands in the bay, Ko Lueam about 3.6 km offshore and smaller Ko Aen, about 1.5 km off the beach within the bay.
Ao Manao is a great beach which is a popular tourist destination. It can be reached by road through the Wing 5 Royal Thai Air Force base.
The beach is one of my favorite beaches on the east coast of Thailand. With it being on the air force base it is a super clean beach. The back of the beach is also lined with plenty of shade trees making it a great place to relax. With the popularity of the beach there are many food options as well.
I would recommend stopping by if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed.

Wat Chomphuwek วัดชมภูเวก - Nonthaburi Thailand - Historic 350 Year Old Mon Temple
Wat Chomphuwek วัดชมภูเวก also spelled Wat Chumpoo Wek is a Thai Buddhist temple in the Mahā Nikāya sect, located in Nonthaburi Province, central Thailand. It is considered one of the oldest and most prominent temples in Nonthaburi. It is over 350 years old as well having some amazing historic murals painted on the inside of the ancient halls. The architecture of the buildings is some of the most beautiful you will see from this period.
Wat Chomphuwek is a monastery that was believed to have been built by a Mon monk named Poh Phu Si Chomphu พ่อปู่ศรีชมภู in the late Ayutthaya period corresponding to the reign of King Narai the Great around the year 1682. Originally, it was called Wat Chomphuwiwek วัดชมภูวิเวก but later people just called it Wat Chomphuwek.
Its name means "Lonely Temple of Chomphu", or may translate as "High Temple of Chomphu" because it is located on a small hill.
The wall in the old ordination hall is decorated with mural painting describing the Ten Great Birth Stories of the Buddha. The highlight is mural painting of Phra Mae Thorani (goddess of the earth according to Buddhist beliefs) twisting her hair above the entrance, which is said to be the most beautiful Phra Mae Thorani mural in the world.
Another highlight is the chedi (Buddhist pagoda) built in the Mon-style called Phra Mu Tao พระมุเตา. It is believed to have been constructed in year 1917. Buddha relics are also believed to be found inside making this a holy Buddhist site.
After Seeing this temple i would mark it on anyones “to do list” while in Bangkok if you appreciate historic sites. It really is a hidden gem.

Wat Suthat, Giant Swing & Dhevasathan Brahmin Shrine - First Class Royal Temple - Bangkok Thailand
Wat Suthat Thepwararam วัดสุทัศนเทพวราราม is a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, Thailand. It is a royal temple of the first grade, one of ten such temples in Bangkok (24 in Thailand).
Construction was initiated by King Rama I in 1807. It was initially called "Wat Maha Sutthawat" (วัดมหาสุทธาวาส) and was located in the combretum grove.
Further construction and decorations were carried out by King Rama II who helped carve the wooden doors, but the temple was not completed until the reign of King Rama III in 1847 or 1848.
This temple contains the Buddha image Phra Sri Sakyamuni พระศรีศากยมุนี which have been moved from Sukhothai Province. At the lower terrace of the base, there are 28 Chinese pagodas which symbolize the 28 Buddhas born on this earth.
The temple dating back to the beginning of the Rattanakosin Kingdom, it was a place where stories about undead according to the beliefs of Buddhism and Siamese, preta are often depicted as a tall hungry ghost with a thin body and a scary howling cry. It was said that it often appears in front of the temple at night. Until it was said that "Pret Wat Suthat" เปรตวัดสุทัศน์ in pair with "Raeng Wat Saket" แร้งวัดสระเกศ, "vultures of Wat Saket".
The temple is full of beautiful images and well worth a visit. It’s often passed by without knowing what the walls around it contain.
