Just a ride around Newberry Country. And yes, the start is a bit slow.

The Devils Backbone, Lexington County, SC. The road is a nice rural road. Before it was paved half a century ago, it was a road so bumpy and curvy it was named for Satan’s spine, says Louise Riley, an unofficial town historian who has written hundreds of articles on local history for the community newspaper. One of the earliest families to live on Devils Backbone Road, Riley says, was the family of Michael Barr, who fought in the Civil War. In Barr’s absence, his family once took a trunk of his valuable possessions, laid it in the middle of Devils Backbone and rode over it with wagons to keep Union soldiers from collecting the valuables, according to Riley. Todays ride, October 8, 2023 - Main Street in my small town.

The road to the Devils Backbone crosses over portions of Lake Murray. However there is a sign on one of the bridges that says "Saluda River". Since the Saluda River feeds Lake Murray, it begs the question.

Not a great video but..... it's what I have. The under the nose camera mount on the ST1300 is a little loose. Maybe be able to fix, but it's a Roam device so not sure.

Faulty Battery Less Than Two Years Old - battery fails to charge. If you parallel connect a 9 VDC battery to it and then after a few minutes pop it in the charger it will charge. But not hold a charge more than a week or so. Oh, the NiCad battery on the left, charging, is over 5 years old, maybe more.
