How Golf Balls Are Made
Around 600 years ago, the Dutch used to make golf balls by stuffing feathers into a leather sack. With time, improvements were made to the ball, making it cheaper and more aerodynamic.
Today the golf ball market brings in around $550 million in annual sales, with over 850 million golf balls being manufactured and shipped every year.
So how are golf balls made?
How Ketchup is ACTUALLY Made
The ancestor of modern ketchup was completely tomato-free. As far back as 300 BC, texts documented the use of fermented pastes made from fish entrails, meat byproducts, and soybeans.
Modern ketchup as we know it today didn’t debut until 1812 when a scientist named James Mease developed the recipe. The condiment instantly caught the attention of consumers in the US and European markets with companies like Heinz selling 13 million bottles of it.
Today the ketchup industry generates 35 billion dollars in revenue. So, how is it made?

How Pencils Are Made
The history of pencils can be traced back to pre-historic times when chalky rocks and charred sticks were used to draw on surfaces as varied as animal hides and cave walls.
Then, graphite sticks wrapped in string were used for writing purposes. Later, the graphite was inserted into hollowed-out wooden sticks and, thus, the wood-cased pencil was born. Even in our increasingly high-tech world, each year roughly 2 billion low-tech pencils are sold in the U.S. and 14 billion are sold worldwide.
So how are pencils made in factories?

But it wasn’t until the 20th century that ice cream became available to the common man. As the Industrial Revolution brought electric power, steam power, and mechanical refrigeration, the ice cream market grew to astronomical size, with an estimated market size of 81.8 Billion USD in just the United States.
