Three long freight trains. One of a few, when I get them uploaded I'll edit more information

Haven't had a job felling yet to put this saw to work with. We have a rocky start to our relationship, NOTHING to do with the basic saw design. EVERYthing to do with how Husqvarna is shaping their practices relative to support for both their dealers and customers

Love the Husqvarna chainsaws, especially the 555, 562, 565, 572, and 585 models. Commonly called Autotunes. Not liking the direction Husqvarna is taking towards dealers and customer support. Guess I'm not the only one as the dealers representing the chainsaw / forestry side of their business are disappearing . A lot of reasons why from the focus on mechanical logging to the homeowners going to places like Lowes. BUT in the segment I'm interested in, Small lot logging & farming a saw shop has a place. The full line Husqvarna dealers are more focused on their line of mowers, snow throwers etc. and saws a side show. A reap what u sow deal for them. They have tried to build a dealer network that sells and support the full line of Husqvarna products. A perfectly natural thing for a corporation to do. Problem is the saw market and customer is different than one buying a riding lawn mower. AND we see Husqvarna leaving us behind in fact if if they aren't intentionally doing than.

A really long heavy freight train. This one is typical of this scheduled train, takes about a 1/2 hr for De Witt yard to swallow this entire train. It is LONG. Amazes me that it required only 2 locomotives to move this train at speed. 4400hp x 2 is 8800hp at work.

Killing time , had to get someone at the airport so hung out next to the track for a couple of hours. And THIS is what came through

This day was a "recon" to see where good places might be to get video. Little did we know it was going to be both "recon" AND a productive rail fan day. Caught a couple of trains on the fly... no time to setup so this was kind of raw video

First Was East Bound Lead By CSX GE ES44AH 3185 with A DPU CSX GE CM44AC 7255 Second was a East Bound Lead By CSX GE ES44AH 3167 and DPU CSX GE ESS40DC 5321 Last Was West Bound CSX 3349 and Trailing CSX 502

FIRST Start with my NEW ( Earned from logging ) Husqvarna 585 With a CARBURETOR, A NEW generation saw Carbureted not an Autotune. And its internals look a LOT like the old Husqvarna 576 and even 570, 575 series of chainsaws

A couple of CSX Train Moments and discuss the collection and premise of the series to follow where I take effectively worn out Husqvarna 572's and without the help of a dealer bring them back to a useful place

Some call it trigger wood, but essentially a way to slow the felling process down. Give the faller a chance to step away and LOOK up and around before releasing the tree. This happens to be similar if not the same technique commonly called the "Game of Logging" and I have subsequently learned they have a training program that is the BEST logging / felling program on the east coast.
