McKayla Maroney VS Kohei Uchimura VAULT GYMNASTICS COMPARISON
The video shows American gymnast McKayla Maroney and Japanese gymnast Kohei Uchimura performing their signature vaults - the Amanar for Maroney and the open-twisting Yurchenko double for Uchimura. Both gymnasts completed 2.5 twists in the air with brilliant height and form.
The video uses a split-screen effect to showcase the two vaults side-by-side, allowing viewers to compare them in real time. We see Maroney's explosive block off the vault table propel her skyward as she shows gorgeous leg extension and perfectly pointed toes throughout her flight. Uchimura likewise demonstrates beautiful form, keeping his body pin-straight as he twists through the air.
Both gymnasts stick their landings cold, barely moving as their feet hit the mat. However, Maroney's greater vertical leap is evident, as she seems to hang in the air for an eternity compared to Uchimura. The video makes clear why Maroney's Amanar is regarded as perhaps the greatest vault ever performed. Even matched against the legendary Uchimura, her otherworldly height and flawless technique stand out.
Though an impressive display by both athletes, the side-by-side footage gives viewers a new appreciation for Maroney's singular brilliance on vault. Her unparalleled performance skills are crystallized beautifully through the video's novel format.

Want to get strong and flexible? Try these ring exercises!
If like me, you're trying to build some extra #strength and #stability doing #ringsupportholds on #rings are a great way and work your entire chest, triceps, biceps, traps and forearms, incedible! I'm really trying hard to stop my elbows hyperextending as I'm a little too flexible at the joint.
Rings are relatively cheap (These ones were sent to me from a supporter ❤️) and a very versatile piece of equipment. Check out my rings video for more exercises!

This Gymnastics skill is called a Manna - Manna Do Doo Do Do Do
If you know you know 😂 The manna is an advanced gymnastics skill performed on the still rings. It is considered one of the most difficult strength skills in men's gymnastics.
To perform a manna, the gymnast hangs upside down from the still rings, Parallel Bars or floor, maintaining a straight, inverted handstand position while gripping the rings turned out 180 degrees. The gymnast then slowly lowers his torso toward the floor while keeping the rings turned out and arms straight until he forms an inverted straddle 'L' shape. The entire body remains straight and rigid from the shoulders through the legs. The gymnast holds this precarious inverted straddle position, with the body perfectly perpendicular to the floor, relying solely on strength to support himself.
Executing a proper manna requires immense upper body strength, coordination, flexibility, and control. The gymnast must exhibit straight arms, tight upper shoulders, a straight and rigid torso, and perfectly split legs at 180 degrees to maintain the correct shape. Even the slightest bend in the arms or torso will lead to deductions in its execution. The manna tests a gymnast's functional strength and body tension like few other skills, and is considered a benchmark of elite rings mastery. When performed to perfection, it is an awe-inspiring display of strength and gymnastic artistry.
