Road Trip to Alaska, Part 9, The Return Trip
In this part, we travel back to the lower 48. We had planned to take the ALCAN to Dawson Creek, and continue to Calgary, and south to Carway MT. Unfortunately, the road construction on the ALCAN made the choice for us, so our return trip took us back to Prince George via the Cassiar, then southwest to Vancouver, before crossing back to the lower 48. The scenery and wildlife never ceased to amaze us. It is however, as remote as you'll ever get. You can literally drive for an hour or two before you pass another vehicle, the Cassiar highway at times is no wider than a back country road filled with potholes and frost heaves, and there is little to no cell service from the lower 48 to Alaska and back. Keeping all this in mind, we would recommend this trip to anyone, and will likely do it again.

Canyonland National Park UT, South Entrance
We almost missed this great part of Canyonland NP. You have to travel south on UT 191 to enter the park, as the Colorado river divides the two parts of the park. The terrain and formations of the southern park are completely different of the north, yet outstanding in their own right. The southern part is a must see.

Canyonland National Park, UT
This is a pictorial video of our trip through Canyonland National Park. Canyonland is a unique terrain with multiple levels that can be explored. The top level provides improved roads, where you can access amazing formations. If you have a 4X4, you can travel White Rim road that takes you to other levels within the park, and down to the Colorado river. White Rim and Potash Vista roads provide even more spectacular views. Canyonland is located near Moab and Arches NP, so there are plenty of things to do and see. In our next videos, we travel both White Rim and Potash Vista roads.

Road Trip to Alaska, Part 7, Trip to Homer Spit
In this part, we leave Seward, and head to the other side of the Kenai, to Homer Spit. Homer Spit is a tiny peninsula that juts out into Kachemak bay. The weather all week was a mild 60F in mid summer. This stop was a break for us to spend some down time walking the beaches and visiting the small shops on the spit. This is another hidden gem, and we highly recommend it. If you like fishing, they have deep sea charters, or you can catch Salmon off the shore line. Our next stop is Valdez, one of the best stops on our trip!

Road Trip to Alaska, Part 4, Cassiar and ALCAN Hwy, CA
In this part we continue down the Cassiar Hwy, to Junction 37 where we pick-up the ALCAN Hwy into Alaska towards Denali NP. This part of the trip has long distances between services, towns, and RV parks. Don't count on any cell service until you reach towns large enough to justify a dish or antenna. This was also the most amazing part of the trip. The wildlife and wilderness change around every curve. In Part 5, we'll explore Denali NP.

Silverton CO, Animas Forks
This video is a drive through the back country to Animas Forks, near Engineer Pass. We started at Silverton, via the million dollar highway. Fantastic drive, on good weather you can make Animas Forks in you vehicle, but if the roads are wet, recommend 4X4 or AWD vehicle. Bad weather the day before prevented us from cresting the pass, snowed in.
