The gun issues continue here. Lost a bufflehead that dove, those things are tough. Paddy got some retrieves in.

A few ducks here, and the start of my shotgun troubles. John's old ammo that I was trying to use up wasn't ejecting well, if at all. Paddy refused to get a hen that swam under the ice, but redeemed himself by finding the last one in the cattails. Unfortunately, the battery died right after I shot her.

Here's my buck from this year's gun season.

After all these years, I finally got a goose. I've shot plenty of them, but they never seem to fall. The second one got away, he must have recovered. A drake woody got lucky and escaped my steel when I went to pick up the honker.

Every time you go to pick up dekes, action happens.

A little buck decided he wanted a ride on my cart in early November.

Every woodcock I've shot this year in slow motion. With an epic soundtrack. Luckily for you, there are only six!

On my way to do some upland hunting, I was able to get my turkey tag filled.

Looking back, I think I was wrong. That woody was actually a hen. I never noticed how much green hen woodies actually have on their head.

Corey and I scored some mallards on a pothole. For October these birds sure didn't wanna commit. Corey got a drake and 2 hens, and I got 2 hens. There was only one drake in the bunch.

Found a spot loaded with woodcock. I got 3 in 4 shots without moving much.

...but I'll take 'em any way I can get 'em.

After a lackluster morning of duck hunting on 'Bago, we head into Oshkosh for a bucket of whiteys.

For as little pressure as this section gets, and as long of a walk as it was, I expected better results. I got a couple nice ones, though. The water was higher than normal, so that may have screwed me up a bit. There were a couple spots that I had to tiptoe through to stay dry, and the current was also difficult in places. It was an exhausting, yet enjoyable jaunt. I was happy to get back to my car.

Here's some driftless fishing. Not much excitement other than not being able to seal the deal on a nice one.

Not a spectacular morning, but the one fish I caught was pretty decent.

Got out teal hunting with John and Paddy a couple mornings. We did much better the second day, but got a couple the first day. Camera light was low right away the first day, but there's not much I can do about that. My camera angle was kinda bad before I changed the battery, that IS my fault. It was good to get out in the marsh regardless.

Had some run-ins with good fish up north, but couldn't seal the deal with 'em. What a great stretch of river!

Some up north trout fishing here. Saw some big fish that wouldn't bite, but had a good time exploring a new section of water anyway.

John and I got out and fished for browns at night during the white mayfly hatch. It's gonna be tough footage again, but I manage to get my light on at some point during the catches. Gonna need a camera crew for this type of stuff next year!

Found some brook trout.

Goose and I catch some driftless trout. All three Wisconsin species.

Manguy catches a brown on the Kickapoo. He had leaky waders, and probably didn't wanna walk too far with two boots full of water, but I'm glad he got out and caught one.

Here's my first successful trip to a driftless stream. Caught my biggest of the year so far at 16", and got a 14" right at the end.
