I'm Matthew Williamson, the founder of Williamson Mead and Brewing. At Williamson Mead and Brewing, we're on a mission to revolutionize the alcohol beverage market. In 2022, the domestic wine industry, in the United State generated 33 billion in sales. Meads and Ciders combined represent less than 3% of that total. We believe that there's a huge opportunity to bring these historical beverages back into the spotlight. Our unique production process, the Williamson Process, sets us apart from the competition and has earned us recognition in the industry with over 166 awards and accolades. Our ability to create world class products is matched by an ability to do it in 1) a geometrically shorter time and 2) with significantly less energy and water used. This means we are perfectly positioned to attract a growing number of customers who are seeking out unique and high-quality craft beverages that are sustainable. But our mission goes beyond simply making great Meads and Ciders. We are also committed to being a responsible and environmentally friendly business that is an active partner in our community. That's why we are committed to sourcing the majority of our raw materials from local suppliers and hiring, training, and educating an entirely local workforce, thus making a significant and positive impact to the economic well-being of our county and the State of North Carolina. We believe that with the right resources, we can found a National Premium Mead and Cider brand that will return these incredible beverages back to the prominence they once shared. That's why I'm here today to ask for your support in obtaining the NCIDEA Seed grant. This funding would allow us to take our company and our innovative Williamson Process of production to the next level.
