A big piece of my story is.. that I’m just a regular gal that one day decided to take small steps instead of huge leaps for the first time in my life. Growing up and struggling with my weight I pretty much had tried it all but one thing I never did was focus on true change. I’m quick to admit that for many years of my life a quick fix was THE only method I was willing to try. I wanted this weight off me quick and I was willing to torture myself through whatever it was that could do that for me. One time I successfully did just that and lost 50lbs in 40 days by extreme under eating (500 calories a DAY as a 17 year old girl that played multiple sports at that) Fast forward a year later and I had gained a total of 90lbs back (almost double the amount I had lost) making it the heaviest weight I’ve reached yet. After giving up and each year my weight on the scale only rising I decided to make myself a promise to go all in but this time in a healthy way. I fed my body high protein with lots of carbs still within my diet, I did exercises I actually enjoyed, I allowed myself balance and normalcy, lastly I changed my lifestyle to one I could be proud of and it not only flipped my world upside down but it lead me to losing 120lbs naturally. March 2021 I decided to change my life. I lost 15 kg in 8 weeks with my self made workout plan (which you can now purchase with my code CHANIKA5). ✨More than just a weight loss transformation✨ I’ve had a few people ask me if I’m happy now that I’ve lost weight so I’d thought I’d share my journey. I’ve battled anxiety and depression for majority of my life and in the midst of the lockdowns, I found myself again at my absolute worst and it was like that consistently for about two years. I hated leaving the house, hated socialising and hated having to get out of bed. I felt like giving up numerous times but I kept trying, I knew I could be happy even though it felt impossible. I changed EVERYTHING, I found an awesome psychologist, I developed boundaries, I started standing up for myself and putting myself first. I started to look after my body rather than hate it. I ate delicious and nutritious food, sat in the sun more, began getting proper sleep. I started to say things I was grateful for and things I liked about myself with the help from my coach @Lionstone Physique Coaching I can’t remember when but one day I remember thinking ‘wow I’m glad to be alive’ and that was such a new thought for me. I am proud of my weight loss transformation but I am SO SO SO MUCH MORE proud of my mental health transformation. If you’re starting your weight loss journey, it’s important to focus on the mental aspects and and not just physical.
