Lucky scuba divers encounter the largest species👏🏽 of shark in the world
Whale sharks are the largest shark in the ocean. They are also the largest fish and they reach an incredible length of 20m (60 feet). Estimates of their weight place them at up to 45,000kg (100,000lbs). They are truly majestic giants of the deep. Anyone lucky enough to see one swimming in the wild will never forget the experience.
These lucky scuba divers have traveled to the Galapagos Islands to swim in the water near Darwin Island, a remote area where three strong ocean currents collide. The upwelling of cold water brings nutrients and food from deep in the ocean to the surface. Animals such as Galapagos sharks, hammerheads, and stingrays congregate here. For mysterious reasons that baffle scientists, whale sharks also cruise through here during certain times of the year. They are almost exclusively large, pregnant females. It is believed that they come here to give birth, but everything about this possibility is little more than theory. The babies are almost never seen.
Watching a whale shark cruise past, seemingly unconcerned with the presence of comparatively tiny humans, is simply awe-inspiring. It is a life-changing moment when it becomes clear that we, as humans, are small and clumsy in this underwater realm. The whale shark could easily increase its speed or simply dive deep, as they often do to avoid predators. They are gentle beasts with no ability to bite or defend themselves. They outswim predators when needed. This whale shark was not concerned with the divers, swimming slowly through the group. Perhaps the whale shark was equally curious about them. Either way, these divers will never forget this underwater encounter.👏🏽

Adorable lion cub pulls brother's tail when 👏🏽mom isn't looking
Baby lions are some of the most adorable creatures on this planet. This video shows just how cute they really are when three male lion cubs become playful, with one brother deciding it’s a good time to practice his hunting skills on his brother’s tail. During this time their mother was lying passed out in the background, taking a well-deserved nap.
The African lion is known as the king, the one that rules the savannah plains of Africa. Lions are the top predators in Africa and feared by prey animals and man. While these fearsome animals leave you with an adrenaline rush every time encountered in the wild, it is a totally different story when one is lucky enough to encounter lion cubs in the wild. These adorable baby animals immediately make lions go from scary and dangerous predators to cute little furballs, creating a sight filled with heart-warming moments and a cuteness overload experience. During a safari in the Kruger National Park, we were fortunate enough to come across a pride of lions which included three adorable male cubs. We were totally amazed by our find and decided to spend time with the lions. Most of the pride was resting and the mother of the pride looked totally passed out with some of her feet up in the air. As youngsters do while their parents try to rest, the lion cubs became full of energy and decided it was time to play. One of the lion cubs stole the show and made for the funniest and cutest part of the playtime. While playing around, this lion cub decided it was a good time to grab hold of his brother’s tail, acting like he was catching something. Lion cubs love biting, pulling and chewing on things when they are young as it simulates the actions and skills needed for hunting live prey when they grow older. His brother’s moving tail made the perfect target and the pulling and biting continued all while mommy was fast asleep in the back ground.
The lion cub looked like he was going to drag his brother around by the tail and it was so cute and funny to watch the whole time. The lion cub that had his tail in his brother’s mouth decided he had to get his tail released and in a playful manned started wrestling his brother for his tail. Soon the tail was released and the lion cub went straight for the other brother’s tail. This adorable type of playfulness continued for a few more minutes until the cubs lost interest in their game and went to lie down to rest. The large lioness never even opened one eye to see what was going on, from our arrival until our departure. She must👏🏽

Bee gathers pollen from thistle and packs it on her belly hairs 👏🏽
Bees are the pollinators of the world, gathering pollen from flowers to make their honey. The pollen is made of simple sugars, protein, vitamins and minerals. When combined with bee saliva, a fermentation process begins. A biochemical transformation takes place, breaking down the walls of the flower pollen grains and making the nutrients more readily available.
Ironically, the bees that gather the pollen cannot actually eat it. They lack the proteolytic enzymes to digest it. Instead, they eat a substance known as bee bread, which is created in the cells in the hive.
In the process of gathering pollen, some of the grains are transferred from the male part of the flower to the female part, allowing reproduction to occur. This is the process that is crucial to the production of most fruit, vegetables and the breeding of other plants. It is widely known that without bees, the world would be at risk of losing the majority of plants, and with them, many animals. We understand our dependence on the survival and health of these tiny creatures.
This bee is gathering pollen on a beautiful thistle flower. Usually, bees pack pollen on their leg hairs, resembling small yellow baskets. They carry the pollen back to the nest with these baskets that look a lot like saddle bags on a motorcycle. But this bee actually packs the pollen onto her underbelly, using a deliberate patting motion with her hind legs.
The thistle is a gorgeous backdrop for such a spectacular little beast. She is more than beautiful. She is critical.😇

This house wren is literally the "home wrecker" of the bird world 👏🏽
The house wren is a small and dainty looking bird, but its behaviour is that of a feisty and competitive animal with a dark side. The female is known to be a cantankerous and demanding mate. Eager to impress her, the male builds a nest and awaits her approval. In more than half of the cases, the female discards most of the sticks and rebuilds it, having little regard for the male's feelings about watching his work being picked apart.
The male house wren will often watch this process patiently and take his place alongside the female as she lays eggs. Together, they will raise the young. The female spends most of the time on the nest and the male brings her food as she does her job keeping the eggs warm. But occasionally, the male has a wandering eye while the female is dismantling his nest. In some cases, he finds himself with a more accepting female and the two will pair up as a more agreeable couple.
The female house wren's cranky side extends beyond her own nest and is directed toward others in the area. She is not tolerant of other birds in the area that would compete for her food supply or nesting grounds. She fills the nests with sticks to make them unusable, driving the birds away from her territory. Those who persist and successfully lay eggs might find their nests under attack as the female house wren will peck holes in the shells of the eggs. She earns the label "homewrecker" for her aggressive intolerance of other bird families in her neighbourhood.😂

Hungry kitten adorably falls asleep during his feeding 😻
These tiny kittens are getting a helping hand at a beautiful animal sanctuary called the Black Dog Farm and Rescue in Texas. This shelter takes in and cares for the most needy and the most neglected animals, like Dougal, a truly adorable little kitten.
He's doing well now, but for Dougal and his family, their story nearly ended in tragedy before they were born. Their mother was an underweight and poorly nourished cat who was allowed to become pregnant far too early in her young life. The owner found her through Facebook, advertised as a "free kitten". But soon after he took her home, she became pregnant. The owner took the mother to a shelter and abandoned her. Life at a shelter is usually short for pregnant cats, and for their babies as they are often the first ones sacrificed to solve the problems of overcrowding and lacking funds. Miraculously, the young mother's story came to the attention of Jennifer and Jim at the Black Dog Farm and Rescue. They couldn't let this mother and her babies be euthanized.
Jennifer and Jim took the cat home and named her Diana, after the author of the popular book and TV series, Outlander. Two weeks later, Diana had her babies, Roger MacKenzie, Jenny Fraser Murray, Claire Beauchamp Fraser, James (Jamie) Alexander MacKenzie, and this sweet soul, Dougal MacKenzie.
Diana was small and she was already struggling. She became very sick and was unable to provide her kittens with enough milk. Jennifer and Jim refused to give up on these adorable babies. Jennifer syringe fed them every two hours for three weeks until they were strong enough to eat gruel (milk replacer). Although their stories nearly ended in the worst way, they are now thriving and growing bigger by the day. Jennifer and Jim have found carefully selected forever homes for each of these beautiful babies. Every one will have a loving family and proper care.
Here, we see Dougal enjoying his feeding and gulping down his dinner. But Dougal is a tired little boy and he can barely keep his eyes open. He's hungry and he's eager to eat, but his eyes are closing, even though his mouth is working hard to fill his tiny belly.
No animal should be treated like Diana was. Black Dog Farm and Rescue continues to do the work they do only because of help and support from animal lovers like them. They refuse to give up on any creature who wants to live. Please support their rescue so they can provide food and medical care to mend beautiful souls like Diana and help them find their forever homes. 👏🏽
