The Phoenix Police Department has released body camera and 911 call, related to an officer-involved shooting which occurred on February 13, 2024.
This incident unfolded following an emergency call reporting an unknown disturbance at an apartment near 19th Avenue and Berridge Lane. The caller reported a man was holding her mother at gunpoint and forced her back into their apartment into their residence.
Upon arrival, officers swiftly surrounded the apartment. Peering through windows, they witnessed the assailant physically assaulting the victim in a bedroom. On February 3, 2024, at 2:14 p.m., LAPD officers responded to a report of an "Assault with a Deadly Weapon" on Towne Avenue's 600 block. The call indicated an intoxicated suspect armed with a stick was threatening employees.
Upon arrival, officers met with the Person Reporting, who recounted the suspect's entry into a warehouse business on the 4th floor of East 7th Street's 800 block, instructing them to leave. Fearing for their safety, the Person Reporting contacted the police and signed a Private Persons Arrest for Trespass. They directed the officers to the 4th floor, expressing concern about the suspect's access to sharp and metal objects inside.
Once on the 4th floor, the officers observed the suspect later identified as 36-year-old Jason Lee Maccani resident of Camarillo inside the business and ordered him to exit with his hands up. Maccani initially complied then turned and charged toward the officers with a white object protruding from the bottom of his clenched right hand, which was held at chest level. one of the officers observed Maccani holding what he believed to be a screwdriver and deployed a 40 mm less lethal foam projectile round, another officer fired two bean bag shotgun rounds at Maccani however all of the less lethal Munitions were ineffective. Maccani persisted in his advance, grabbing one of the officers and her beanbag shotgun. This escalation led to an Officer-Involved Shooting.
Maccani was struck by gunfire, subdued, and taken into custody without further resistance. Officers provided immediate medical assistance until the arrival of Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. Maccani was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Subsequently, the object originally thought to be a knife was determined to be a white plastic fork.
Jason Maccani's only prior encounter with law enforcement was a DUI charge under section 23152(A) back in 2005 in Ventura County.
He graduated from UCLA with a degree in mechanical engineering in 2011. According to his family, he had been grappling with bipolar disorder in recent years.

Female Deputies Shoots Resident Thinking She's A Burglar. Feb 3, 2024.

Houston, Texas --- The Harris County Sheriff’s Office released body camera of an officer-involved shooting that occurred on February 3, 2024.
On February 3, 2024, at around 2:10 a.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to an "In Progress" call at 90 Uvalde Road. The caller reported a possible intruder inside her apartment. By 2:14 a.m., the first deputy arrived and conducted a thorough search of the apartment, finding no signs of an intruder. However, before leaving, a resident from a neighboring apartment alerted the deputies to a break-in at another nearby unit.
Responding to the reported break-in, deputies observed damage to a window near the front door, with shattered glass and raised blinds. Upon knocking and announcing their presence at the front door, deputies peered through the broken window and spotted a female approaching, holding a firearm. In response, two deputies discharged their duty weapons, striking the woman. Immediate life-saving measures were initiated, and the wounded female was transported to a local hospital by North Channel Emergency Medical Services.
Following a safety sweep of the apartment, no additional individuals were found inside. However, a handgun was discovered within the premises, believed to be the same firearm observed by deputies prior to the discharge of their weapons.
The injured female is reported to be in stable condition at the hospital, with no other injuries reported. Subsequent investigation revealed that the wounded woman is, in fact, a resident of the apartment, along with another female companion. They had purportedly broken their own window to gain entry due to not having a key.
As per standard HCSO protocols, the two deputies involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave. The investigation into the matter is ongoing under the purview of the Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit.

In Tucson, Arizona, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has made public a series of materials, including a 911 call, bodycam footage, and images, shedding light on the events of December 21, 2023. On that night, deputies from the department responded to a residence near Shannon and Overton roads in Casas Adobes following a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute over the custody of a child.
"We have a problem, he tried to take the kid," a person who later identifies himself as the child's grandfather says in the 911 call. "He is trying to say he has the paperwork and the mother is not here, I'm the grandfather and we are not going to let him take the kid."
Upon arrival, deputies encountered Sanchez, aged 29, who did not have court-ordered custody of the child and refused to separate from them, intending to leave with the child against the family's wishes.
As deputies attempted to apprehend Sanchez, a struggle ensued, leading to a physical altercation. The sequence escalated with the sound of gunfire. Subsequently, an exchange of gunfire between officers and Sanchez occurred, with over a dozen shots heard in the footage. The confrontation resulted in both deputies and Sanchez were shot.
Sanchez managed to flee the scene initially but was later apprehended nearby. All parties involved, including the deputies Jaylon McEuen and Leonardo Wells, and Sanchez, were transported to Banner University Medical Center with severe injuries.
Following treatment, Sanchez was placed under arrest and faces multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, felony endangerment, and custodial interference. Both deputies have since been discharged from the hospital and are recuperating at home with their families. Wells, it was clarified, was the deputy who discharged his firearm during the encounter, as confirmed by Pima County officials.

Police Chase Florida Man Who Ran A Red Light At 100 MPH - February 4, 2024
Please Like and Subscribe!
The Marion County Sheriff's Office released dashcam, body camera footage of a high speed chase that occured on February 4, 2024.
Around 10:30 p.m. Marion County Sheriff's Office Corporal Jordan Tripp witnessed a silver BMW two thousand two running a red light at the intersection of South West 38th Street and South West 80th Avenue in the city of Ocala. The driver later identified as 19-year-old Michael Gonzalez drove around Corporal Tripp while speeding at approximately a hundred Miles per hour through the intersection. Corporal Tripp, stationed at the red light, promptly activated his emergency lights and siren, initiating a pursuit in an attempt to catch up to Gonzalez's vehicle. Gonzalez continued to evade capture, reaching speeds exceeding a hundred Miles per hour for several miles. However, upon reaching the 7900 block of South West 80th Avenue, Gonzalez lost control of the vehicle, causing it to spin out onto the grass on the west side of the roadway.
Corporal Tripp approached the vehicle, but Gonzalez persisted in attempting to flee. Given the high speeds, erratic driving, and the residential setting, the pursuit was terminated in the interest of public safety. Approximately 30 minutes later, other deputies in the vicinity located Gonzalez's vehicle. Corporal Milton Manchester executed a traffic stop, with Gonzalez pulling into a gas station. A felony stop was conducted, resulting in Gonzalez's arrest.
What is a felony stop?
A "felony" or "high-risk" traffic stop occurs when police stop a vehicle which they have strong reason to believe contains a driver or passenger suspected of having committed a serious crime, especially of a nature that would lead the police to believe the suspects may be armed (such as an armed robbery, assault with a weapon, or an outstanding felony warrant for the registered owner).
When questioned by Corporal Tripp about his actions, Gonzalez admitted to fleeing because he believed he could escape and it would be fun. Gonzalez was charged with Fleeing to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer with Disregard for Safety, a third-degree felony carrying a potential 5-year prison sentence. He was subsequently transported to the Marion County Jail.

Upon revealing he didn't possess a valid license, the driver attempted to flee, prompting the officer to intervene by stepping on the brakes, resulting in being dragged by the vehicle. Despite the partner's use of a taser that was ineffective. The driver, still dragging the officer, shifted the car into reverse, prompting the partner to fire two shots, striking the driver in the chest. The driver succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital.
Upon further investigation, the police discovered a Glock "ghost gun" equipped with an extended magazine modified for fully automatic firing. A "Ghost gun" is described by the police as unregulated and untraceable firearms without serial numbers. Additionally, a significant quantity of narcotics, including oxycodone, crack cocaine, ecstasy, promethazine, marijuana, a scale, and cash, was recovered.
The passenger in the vehicle was initially taken into custody for questioning but was later released. The driver, unnamed by the police, was on bond for receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon. It was noted that he was prohibited from possessing a weapon.

Philadelphia police have released new video footage depicting a shooting incident that occurred on January 26, 2024 that resulted in an injured officer, the death of one suspect, and the ongoing search for another.
According to authorities, both officers were patrolling one of the city's most dangerous crime areas when they stopped for a security check at a corner store located at 2859 North Masher and Cambria streets.
The officer is seen approaching three individuals, where he reportedly observed a a firearm in the pocket on one of them, identified as 28-year-old Alexander Spencer, who was wanted for a non-fatal shooting in the area. The second officer, later identified as Raheem Hall, becomes aware of the weapon as he enters the store, leading to a swift struggle.
A scuffle ensues, resulting in both officers falling to the ground with Spencer just before two gunshots are heard. According to police, one of those shots was fired by Spencer, striking one of the officers in the leg four times as he crouched on the ground. Police said the bullet goes in his thigh out his thigh in the back of his calf and out the front of his leg. In response, Officer Hall fired his weapon, fatally striking Spencer.
Police clarify that the officers' guns remained holstered until the suspect opened fire, and during the incident, the struck officer's gun failed to fire. Following the exchange, 42-year-old Jose Quinones-Mendez is observed taking the suspect’s gun and fleeing the store. He is wanted for charges including Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act (VUFA), Theft, Obstruction of Justice, and Tampering with Evidence. A $10,000 reward by the Philadelphia's police union is being offered for any information leading to his arrest.
The officer who was shot in the leg was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition, officials said. He was later released from the hospital Monday afternoon January 29th.
Deputy Commissioner said: "on the night of the shooting we thought that the officer was shot two times cuz he had four wounds all right, we now know that he had a double perforating wound so he was down in a crouch uh during the struggle his leg was bent and the bullet goes in his thigh, out his thigh in the back of his calf and out the front of his leg. So one bullet went through four times all right through his leg so the four injuries"

FORT WORTH, Texas --- On the evening of Saturday, January 27, 2024, at approximately 10:06 p.m., Fort Worth Police Department officers observed a gray pickup truck exiting a parking lot without headlights at 1000 Foch St. The truck proceeded to drive the wrong way on Morton Street, a one-way street. Subsequently, it backed up, narrowly avoiding colliding with a marked police unit, and drove up onto a curb. The officers could hear the passenger instructing the driver to stop. Due to the erratic driving behavior, the officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, the driver fled, rapidly navigating through the parking lot.
At this point officers were concerned that the driver was possibly intoxicated due to his reckless driving and posed a threat to the public in a busy entertainment district, officers witnessed the truck striking curbs and nearly colliding with other vehicles while heading eastbound on West 7th Street. The suspect's actions escalated as the truck cut in front of oncoming traffic, jumped a curb into a bank parking lot, and struck a pole, resulting in severe damage to the front left wheel. Despite the compromised condition of the vehicle, the suspect continued to flee from officers at a high speed back towards the densely populated West 7th area.
Due to the erratic behavior of the suspect, officers decided to back off and slow down. The suspect maneuvered around stopped traffic at the intersection of West 7th and University, ultimately striking a pole and a stationary car. Additionally, the truck hit two pedestrians, an adult male and an adult female, who were on the far side of the intersection.
Responding officers were on the scene within seconds, providing immediate aid to the victims. Both individuals were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. The suspected drunk driver, identified as Andrew Guerra, 29, from Grand Prairie, had to be extracted from the vehicle and was subsequently taken into custody. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries and refused to provide a blood sample. Consequently, officers obtained a search warrant to determine his blood alcohol content.
Andrew Guerra is currently held in the Tarrant County Jail on a $95,000 bond. He faces charges of Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Intoxication Assault with Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Unlawful Restraint. Notably, Guerra has no prior alcohol-related convictions.
The passenger in Guerra’s truck has cooperated with the investigation and is considered the victim in the Unlawful Restraint charge. The police emphasize that Impaired driving is 100% preventable. Drunk driving cases are avoidable and can be traumatizing to victims and their families and put our community at risk. There are too many viable options available for people to get home safely without driving while impaired, such as rideshare, taxis, and designating a non-drinking driver when out with a group.

The Houston police Department released body camera about a suspect shot by a Houston police officer at 8435 Tidwell Road at about 7:40 p.m. on Sunday Jan. 7, 2024.
Police said HPD officer Washington and officer Chappell patrolling the area of 8400 Tidwell Road observed a black Lincoln sedan parked on the side of a business that has visible “No Trespassing” signs. The vehicle remained at the location for a period of time and the officers began a trespassing investigation.
The officers approached the driver side of the Lincoln and observed a male, later identified as Broderick Rax, 39, sitting in the front driver’s seat. Officers informed the male they were conducting a trespassing investigation and that there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from his vehicle.
Officers instructed the male to exit the vehicle and he refused to comply. The male continued to resist orders as officers attempted to remove him from the vehicle. During the struggle, officers observed a gun on the driver’s side floorboard, within reach of the male. Officers deployed their Tasers in an attempt to detain the male, but the Tasers had no effect on him.
As the struggle continued, officer Chappell observed Rax reach for the gun. At that time, officer Chappell discharged his duty weapon at the suspect, striking him once. The suspect then ran out of the vehicle and into the business, where officers took him into custody.
Officers rendered first aid to the male and Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital in stable condition.

The Idaho Falls Police Department released dashcam, body cam of a fatal Shooting of suspect wanted on multiple warrents.
shortly after 3:00 a.m. on January 8, 2024, Idaho Falls Police Officers were actively searching for 29-year-old Wyatt Landon in the vicinity of 4th Street and South Lee Avenue. Landon was a wanted individual with multiple warrants, including two felony warrants.
Around 3:10 a.m., an Idaho Falls Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a white Mazda pickup due to an obstructed license plate, a traffic violation. The stop took place near the intersection of 3rd Street and Lee Avenue. Landon, identified as the passenger in the vehicle, promptly exited and fled on foot in a southbound direction on Lee Avenue. The officer conducting the traffic stop positively identified Landon and pursued him in a vehicle.
Meanwhile, Idaho Falls Police Officer Oscar Rosales, stationed on 4th Street in an unmarked vehicle, was surveilling a residence associated with Landon. Upon hearing radio reports of Landon heading towards his location, Officer Rosales, dressed in an IFPD patrol uniform, exited his vehicle to apprehend Landon near the intersection of 4th Street and South Lee Avenue.
Landon, armed with a handgun, turned westbound onto 4th Street and, upon commands from Officer Rosales, discharged his firearm at the officer. In response, Officer Rosales returned fire, discharging his service weapon multiple times and striking Landon four times.
Following the shooting, officers administered emergency medical aid to Landon. Idaho Falls Fire EMS responded to the scene, transporting Landon to a local hospital. Despite medical efforts, Landon succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, Jesus Rosas, was found in possession of 35.9 grams of methamphetamine, materials indicative of drug trafficking, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. Rosas, a 44-year-old Idaho Falls resident, was arrested on charges including Trafficking Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and was taken to the Bonneville County Jail.
During the investigation, the EICITF discovered that the magazine from Landon’s gun was lost on Lee Avenue near the vehicle exit. Without the magazine, Landon's gun could only fire a single shot, and the slide did not lock back, indicating the weapon was empty. Officers at the scene were unaware that Landon's gun could not fire again at the time of the shooting. It remains uncertain if Landon was aware of the firearm's condition.
The incident underwent review by the Bonneville County Prosecutor, who concluded that Officer Rosales acted in self-defense, and his actions were legally justified.
Landon’s outstanding warrants at the time of this incident were as follows: Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Felony Flee or Attempt to Elude a Police Officer, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Misdemeanor Flee or Attempt to Elude a Police Officer, Misdemeanor Hit & Run, Misdemeanor Resisting & Obstructing, Misdemeanor Domestic Battery, and Misdemeanor Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance.

California Gang Member Fatal Shooting by Riverside Police Department. December 6, 2023.

RIVERSIDE, CA --- The Riverside Police Department released dashcam and body camera footage of an Officer Involved in a fatal Shooting that occurred in the 3600 block of Banbury Drive on December 6, 2023.
On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, around 1:48 a.m., Riverside Police in California encountered an incident when two patrolling officers on Banbury Drive observed a silver BMW sedan halted in front of the vehicle entrance gate to an apartment complex in the 3600 block.
Upon conducting a records check on the license plate, the officers discovered that the vehicle had recently been towed and stored due to the arrest of the driver, identified as 26-year-old Ryan Joseph Smith from San Bernardino. They promptly initiated an occupied vehicle check and informed dispatch of their actions.
Approaching the idling vehicle, the cover officer peered through the windshield and immediately spotted a gun on Ryan Smith's lap. The cover officer drew his duty weapon and issued repeated commands for Smith to get his hand off the gun. At one point, Smith lifted his hand up but then put it back down on the gun. In response, the officer fired five shots at Smith.
As Smith exited his vehicle, his handgun fell to the ground beside him. Once he was separated from the weapon, both officers immediately initiated life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. Smith was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly afterward. It was later discovered that Ryan Smith was currently on probation in Los Angeles County for weapons violations.
A record check conducted that night revealed an active arrest warrant for a weapons offense in Los Angeles County and another warrant in Texas for possession of marijuana. Prior incidents included arrests by the Fontana Police Department in March 2023 for firearms violations, another arrest in November for an outstanding warrant, and an arrest by the Riverside Police Department in October for a warrant.
He was also found to be associated with a criminal street gang out of Fontana, and his tattoos and social media corroborated his gang affiliation.
The firearm in Smith's possession during the incident was identified as a 40-caliber Glock handgun equipped with a high-capacity magazine loaded with 25 rounds. A ballistic examination and testing of Smith's gun confirmed that it had been modified to function as a fully automatic weapon.

Vape Store Robbery - Officer Involved Shooting - Fort Worth Police January 7th, 2024
Please Like and Subscribe!
On Sunday, January 7th, 2024, Fort Worth Police Patrol officers responded to a robbery call at a business in the 6400 block of McCart Avenue at 4:01 a.m. The details of the call indicated that the suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Walker Cadd, entered the store wearing a face mask and armed with a crowbar.
The initial responding officer arrived at 4:03 a.m. and witnessed Cadd fleeing through the creek bed behind the shopping center toward a residential neighborhood off Westcreek Dr. Cadd proceeded to jump a fence into the backyard of a residence situated at 3200 Fargo Ct.
The officer drew his weapon and promptly issued verbal commands for Cadd to reveal his hands. Despite repeated warnings, Cadd, refusing to comply, responded with several instances of "No!" The officer radioed his precise location to aid fellow officers in locating him. Cadd, undeterred, stood up and approached the officer. Despite multiple warnings of potential consequences, Cadd continued advancing directly toward the officer.
At close proximity, within arm's reach, the officer pushed Cadd to create distance and retreated out of the shed. However, Cadd persisted in ignoring the officer's commands as he exited the shed. Once outside, Cadd moved toward a sizable opening in the fence, providing access to a neighboring residence and an opportunity to escape.
To prevent Cadd's escape, the officer reached for him with his left hand to impede his progress. In response, Cadd turned toward the officer, reaching for the officer's gun. Fearing that Cadd was attempting to seize his weapon, the officer discharged two shots from his pistol, with one shot hitting Cadd in the leg.
Within seconds, a backup officer arrived, and both officers secured Cadd, promptly administering emergency medical care. Medstar transported Cadd to a local hospital, where he received treatment and was later released on the same day.
Cadd faces charges of Theft and Attempting to Take a Weapon from a Peace Officer. He is currently held in the Tarrant County Jail on bonds totaling $5,500.

Deputy Christian Villanueva from the Harris County Sheriff's Office initiated a traffic stop around 9:37 p.m. on a red Mercedes sedan for running a red light at the 14700 block of Tomball Parkway in North Harris County. The driver, later identified as 19-year-old Carlos Harper, refused to comply, instigating a pursuit that lasted approximately 4 minutes. During this chase, Harper committed several traffic violations, including driving on the wrong side of the road, endangering other motorists. Mr Harper crashed his vehicle in the 18800 block of Tomball Parkway.
Following the crash, Deputy Villanueva attempted to arrest Harper, who resisted the deputy's verbal commands, resulting in a physical struggle. Harper retrieved a pistol from his waist, firing a close-range shot at Deputy Villanueva, grazing his head. In response, Deputy Villanueva discharged his duty weapon multiple times, striking Harper. Subsequently, Harper fled on foot, and despite Deputy Villanueva's pursuit, he lost sight of Harper in a nearby neighborhood.
Additional sheriff's deputies, including a K9 Handler and their K9 partner, responded to the scene. At approximately 10:18 p.m., the K9 Handler and K9 located Harper in the backyard of a residence at the 8200 block of Schaer Lane. Harper fired a round at the K9 but missed. A confrontation ensued where Harper struck the K9 on its head and body with his pistol. Eventually, Harper ceased his actions and complied with the deputy K9 Handler's orders, leading to his arrest. Deputies administered aid and requested EMS, who transported Harper to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment for gunshot wounds and a dog bite.
The investigation, handled by the Sheriff's Office homicide division, resulted in charges against Carlos Harper for aggravated assault against a public servant, evading arrest detention with a motor vehicle, and interfering with a police service animal. Additionally, a handgun was recovered from Harper during his arrest.
Assistant Chief Diaz said that the K9 dog was not injured.

Warren police released dashcam of a deadly police chase that occured on december 26, 2023 in the city of Warren, Michigan.
At around 12:09 p.m. Warren officers initially pulled over a red 2015 Chevrolet Cruze for having expired license plates near Van Dyke and Stephens Road.
Officers approached the Chevy and made contact the driver later identified as Maurice Kelley 24 years old. Officers explained the reason for the stop and requested the driver’s identification however the driver advised officers that he did not have identification. Officers then requested that the driver exit the Chevy at which time the driver shifted the vehicle into drive and sped away from officers.
Officers pursued the Chevy onto northbound Lawrence south of 10 Mile in Center Line. The suspect drove in the grass/field near Lawrence and 10 Mile before traveling westbound 10 Mile approaching Ryan. At 10 Mile and Ryan, the suspect disregarded a solid red traffic signal for westbound Ryan and struck a Ford-150 and then a Penske Box Truck.
Officers immediately requested Fire Department personnel and attempted to rescue the driver. The driver was then pronounced deceased at the scene. Warren Fire Personnel found a handgun that was recently reported stolen in a neighboring City on the front floorboard of the Chevy during the rescue operation. No other motorists were injured.
Commissioner Dwyer stated that, “like every police pursuit, this pursuit was closely monitored in real time by patrol supervisors. Traffic was light and the speeds were moderate throughout the entire pursuit which lasted approximately 3 minutes in length. Thankfully, no officers or other motorists were injured during this incident. We are aware of one handgun being located in the vehicle at this point in the investigation. I know that our investigators will be examining the driver’s background to gather more insight into this situation. This driver is dead due to the choice he made to flee from officers. Fleeing the police unfortunately cost this driver his life.”

The Atlanta Police Department released dashcam, body cam of a pursuit of a Felon With 37 Previous Arrest who shot fired at a gas station.
On December 20, 2023, around 12:15 PM, Atlanta Police responded to reports of gunfire at 3843 Jonesboro Rd. SE. Witnesses at the scene recounted that a male in a gray Jeep Cherokee stopped in front of the location, discharged shots towards the building, and promptly fled the scene. Fortunately, despite several people being nearby when the shots were fired, only property damage was reported.
While officers and investigators processed the crime scene, the suspect's vehicle was spotted returning to the area. Authorities issued a lookout, and nearby ACE Units caught up with the suspect attempting to conduct a traffic stop at 3907 Jonesboro Rd. The driver refused to comply and, after releasing a passenger from the vehicle, engaged the police in a high-speed pursuit that ended near 2000 Lakewood Ave. The driver deliberately swerved in front of an officer, resulting in a collision and effectively performing a PIT maneuver on his own vehicle.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed three young children inside along with the suspect. The children were moved to a safe location to receive treatment for minor injuries while officers worked to extract the driver from the vehicle. The driver, identified as William Burris (born 1984), was apprehended. Burris, a convicted felon with 37 previous arrest cycles, had a firearm recovered from the passenger area of the vehicle.
Subsequently, Burris faced multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana and a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (two counts), possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies, three counts of kidnapping, three counts of 1st-degree cruelty to children, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, and failure to report striking a fixed object.
