This first part of this video recaps some trading and interesting things I discovered while studying my equity curve. This video shows and explains a footprint chart template created in Sierra Chart for studying order flow analytics. In the video I showed the template on a few different markets including a high volume option contract through Interactive Brokers data. The IBKR feed is not a tick by tick data feed, but it might be close enough for some, more info about that in the video. For the option demonstration we only had the Level 1 OPRA subscription, which is why you only see the top bid and offer on the order book. This video explains why it is important to use the One Cancels the Other order type for the exit strategy when in a trade. This will impact short term traders more, but swing traders should not overlook it. When you have an existing position and an OCO pair for a profit taker and stop loss, these orders are held on the exchange servers. When one side is filled, the other is canceled and there is no risk of an erroneous trade in the case of a power drop out. With this method there is no way you can get trapped in a trade without a stop unless the exchange blows up, and in that case they probably still have a fail over. Most trading services support OCO orders, but not all trading services support server-side bracket orders before the parent order has been filled, which is also very important for day traders. This video shows 5 useful layouts for the Trader Workstation desktop platform by Interactive Brokers. We gave an in depth guide for each layout and showed the settings that may apply. Users can download the .XML settings file to add these layouts to their system. Upon restoring a settings file, your previous settings will be overwritten so remember to save those if necessary. When restoring a settings file it will overwrite existing hotkeys, watchlists and any defaults that were configured. The provided settings file has a few configured keyboard shortcuts which are basic and provide a good starting point. These templates are meant to be a basis for new users to build on or get ideas. In this video we demonstrated a method of automatic order placement and modification for a parent order. This system is not finished being implemented and these videos are here to document our progress. When we showed the code for resetting the order IDs, it was missing curly braces for the (sc.GetOrderbyOrderID()) function.
