Wellness Vinyasa
This vinyasa was created because of the ease, length, and myriad of benefits. Some of the benefits include: an increase in strength and flexibility, muscle relaxation, stimulates organ function, and an improvement of overall health and wellness. The links below will provide you with more details on the benefits of each pose. This is not medical advice, just a sequence I created that works well for me. Check with your Physician for a routine that will work for you.

Weight Loss
These are 2 of the first poses I learned when I started yoga. They’re easy and, combined, great for weight loss. Other benefits include: Downward Facing Dog. It decompresses the spine and pumps oxygenated blood throughout your body and brain, thus, stimulating and improving organ function. It relieves back pain, headaches, and fatigue. It reduces swelling in the legs, and increases flexibility, strength, and energy level. It rejuvenates and benefits the entire body. Child’s Pose. It relaxes, lengthens, and strengthens the lower back, shoulders, hips, thighs, and ankles. It increases blood circulation, aids in digestion, releases anxiety, energizes the body, and calms the mind.
Again, this is not medical advice. This is something that has worked well for Vanessa and she is simply sharing her vinyasa. Check with your body, your physician, and God for a routine that would work well for you.

Joint and Muscle Relief
This is a sequence I created with asanas (poses) that I noticed relieved my joint stiffness & muscle tightness. As a Massage Therapist & author there are times I feel extreme discomfort in certain areas of my body such as my back, shoulders, and legs. I listen to my body as to how deep I go in a pose and how many breaths to take in each one. This is not medical advice, it's just a vinyasa I found works for me. Consult your Physician about a routine for your well-being.

Hip Vinyasa Part 2
This sequence focuses on poses that I've done to stretch my hip muscles. Sometimes the pain and discomfort felt in the hip, which may radiate down the leg, is simply tight muscles, usually the Piriformis. It can affect your gait and ripple into other areas in your body causing great discomfort. This is not medical advice. Check with your doctor for a sequence that will work well for you.

Stress & Stretches
This clip is showing how to stretch the SCM, Levator Scap, and the Upper Traps. These 3 muscles are often affected by stress and can bring discomfort. Also shown here is an example of how to use moist heat on those muscles to assist in relaxation.

Vinyasa for the Immune System
Studies have shown that yoga is a great way to give your immune system a boost. Along with getting enough sleep and eating healthy, yoga is a great addition to your overall wellness regimen. Antibiotics and over the counter medications may help you recover from certain ailments but they don’t strengthen your immune system. Yoga reduces stress’ reaction in the body, reduces inflammation, strengthens the nervous system, it helps the flow of the lymphatic system which eliminates toxins, aids in digestion and blood circulation, and much more. Yoga is not a substitute for medical treatment but it is good for preventative care and a great way to stay healthy and full of energy.
“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” 3 Jn 1:2

Rise and Shine Vinyasa
* There have been days I've just done Downward Facing Dog and Child's Pose several times. This helped me open and warm up my ankles, knees, hips and shoulders. It's also a good calorie burner.
* Poses with my arms outstretched, no matter the direction of my arms, have helped me with posture, to straighten rounded shoulders and slouching.
* Sitting for extended periods of time can affect your hamstrings and your back. I found that stretching my back and hamstrings helped me during my sitting-at-a-desk-all-day years.
* Twisting poses have not only helped me stretch my back but it has also helped me wring out toxicity, aid in digestion, and trim my midsection.
