ICE SVU has just made the deportation of Ilhan Omar possible—well, not really, it was always available to ICE SVU to deport Ilhan Omar, but recent events showed it was still possible. The latest news is that ICE SVU just publicized a case that highlighted their mission to identify and deport aliens who unlawfully obtain U.S. citizenship, and by extension, Lawful Permanent Residence (LPR), by lying on their application for an immigrant visa or on an application for U.S. citizenship regarding human rights violations the aliens were involved with before immigrating to the United States. In this case a naturalized citizen from Ethiopia was charged and convicted with concealing his participation in the Red Terror there, a systematic campaign of torture and murder committed by the then communist regime. On July 30th, 2023, the wife of a South African farmer was bound in her home, suffocated with a plastic bag, assaulted, and forced to watch as four attackers slit her husband’s throat. Stories like this have become extremely common in the Rainbow Nation. VDARE.com’s Kenn Gividen has logged roughly 150 South African farm attacks in just the last year. At the center of the chaos is Julius Malema, the leader of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighter party. The EFF is a self-described Marxist, Leninist and Fanonian organization. Some Democrats were always glad about Gorsuch’s nomination. Whites have nothing to apologize for. They won this land fair and square. It is our land. The area now known as “America” was a social, economic and cultural, wilderness before the white man came. July 2023 saw President Joe Biden announcing not one but three Memorial Parks to Emmett Till, the black teenager who in 1955 sexually harassed a white woman and was killed by her menfolk. Amidst these challenges emerged a figure who would make a significant impact on the nation's immigration policies – President Calvin Coolidge. We here at VDARE.com are especially grateful to the thirtieth President for his having signed the 1924 Immigration Act. The act established a quota system based on the nationality of immigrants and their countries of origin. The quotas were determined by the percentage of foreign-born individuals from each nationality residing in the U.S. as of the 1890 census. This meant that immigrants from countries with a significant population in the U.S. at that time were favored, while immigrants from countries with smaller populations in the U.S. faced more stringent restrictions. If you consult Wikipedia, the federal law was designed to uphold “white supremacy.” But Coolidge was no “white supremacist” bogeyman, despite what the woke writers at Wikipedia seem to think. He said it best himself during a State of the Union address on December 8th, 1925: We ought to have no prejudice against an alien because he is an alien. The standard which we apply to our inhabitants is that of manhood, not place of birth. Restrictive immigration is to a large degree for economic purposes. It is applied in order that we may not have a larger annual increment of good people within our borders that we can weave into our economic fabric in such a way as to supply their needs without undue injury to ourselves. The immigration restriction was hardly even controversial in 1924. The House of Representatives voted for the Bill to become an Act by 306-58, the Senate by 69-9. Coolidge was in any case not instrumental in writing or promoting the Bill; he’d only been President a few weeks when Congress started debating it. Still, he supported it, and signed it into law while making his motivations clear. During a speech Coolidge delivered on October 16, 1924 entitled “The Genius of America”, the president remarked: We are all agreed, whether we be Americans of the first or of the seventh generation on this soil, that it is not desirable to receive more immigrants than can reasonably be assured of bettering their condition by coming here. For the sake both of those who would come and more especially of those already here, it has been thought wise to avoid the danger of increasing our numbers too fast. It is not a reflection on any race or creed. We might not be able to support them if their numbers were to great. In such event, the first sufferers would be the most recent immigrants, unaccustomed to our life and language and industrial methods. The Mexican President continued to rant about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, attacking him for being in support of completing the U.S.-Mexico border wall and accusing him of being, quote, “for the mistreatment of migrants.” But DeSantis is hardly “against the migrants” simply because he wants to enforce U.S. law. Also, by making comments about an active presidential candidate, with such rhetoric as “we cannot remain silent,” AMLO is openly calling on U.S. citizens to vote against DeSantis. "What can the states do at the border?" you ask? They can do what the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) is supposed to be doing: prevent entry, arrest after entry, they can push-back illegal aliens, but they can’t deport invaders. The big question at the border now is what can State officials can do about the invasion. First, States are authorized by the Constitution to prevent invasion and take military action against invaders independent of Federal action. The Constitution requires that the Federal government protect the States from invasion, but instead the Federal government today is encouraging the invasion, including protecting and rewarding the invaders. The State of Texas started the State-led efforts many years ago when, during the Obama Regime Administrative Amnesty, State Troopers and Game Wardens were initially deployed, with fast boats laden with machine guns, to stop the Obama Invasion. Later, Texas National Guard troops and Texas State Militia were deployed. During the Biden Regime Administrative Amnesty, Texas deployments increased and other States have joined the Texas-led surge at the border. Washington Watcher II writes for VDARE.com: “Your move DeSantis, Tim Scott, Nikki Haley and other Republican hopefuls!” In a recent video released by his campaign, Trump pledged to stop birth tourism from illegal aliens. All by itself, ending Birthright Citizenship would checkmate the Democrats’ drive to Elect A New People through mass illegal immigration: babies born to illegals would not be American citizens and would hence be ineligible to vote. GOP elected officials have ignored this for far too long, even as millions of illegal aliens have invaded the country and threatened to permanently Replace the Historic American Nation. Now, Republicans must take a stand, and the ones who want to be the nominee will share Trump’s view. He had campaigned on eliminating it in 2016 and brought up scrapping it by Executive Order right before the 2018 midterms, reportedly at the suggestion of former White House staffer Michael Anton. Staffers apparently scuttled the idea, claiming Trump didn’t have the legal authority to issue the order. The idea was revived in Trump’s last days in office, but nothing came of it. Calling for the end of Birthright Citizenship was commendable, but his failure to deliver was one of his most significant failures while in office. At least, he’s made Birthright Citizenship an issue once again. Almost no Republican has even mentioned it since the Biden Border Rush began. Millions of illegals can now drop Anchor Babies who will be American citizens, which as a practical matter makes the parents non-deportable and enable them to establish a beachhead here. But Republicans seem blind. Granted, Republicans discuss securing the border and increasing enforcement, but they offer no plan to deal with illegals here now. This will prevent children of illegals from gaining citizenship, passports, social security numbers, and welfare benefits, as well as the right to vote in elections. Under Trump’s order, at least one parent of a child born on U.S. soil will need to be a citizen or be a lawful resident in order to become an automatic U.S. Citizen. This will effectively end “birth tourism”, through which tens of thousands of pregnant foreigners currently travel to the United States in order to deliver a child with automatic U.S. citizenship. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is the primary enforcement arm of the United States for immigration laws, where it makes arrests at Ports-of-Entry (POE) and within the United States, primarily near the land or maritime borders of the United States, though their authority to make arrests includes all of the United States. The components of CBP that primarily make arrests of aliens for immigration law violations are the United States Border Patrol (USBP), which operates outside the POEs, and the Office of Field Operations (OFO), which operates at POEs, where it examines arriving American citizens and/or nationals and inspects arriving aliens. The purpose of the USBP enforcement activities is to prevent illegal entry by aliens through the borders of the United States or arrest those who were not prevented from entering, while the OFO’s enforcement activities are to prevent the admission of aliens ineligible for admission at POEs. During the Biden Regime, both the USBP and OFO have had their mandates under law changed from enforcement to aiding illegal immigration, and their tweets expose it all. First, @CBP has much to say on illegal immigration, ostensibly claiming the border is secure and there will be consequences for those who enter illegally. They even have a few sad sacks that are being deported, but whether they are being removed under Expedited Removal or other authority is not clear. But in fact, few are being deported, much less any invaders with fraudulent asylum claims. Most are released on their own recognizance after arrest; over 60,000 illegal aliens were released by the USBP in April, with only a meager 8,000 illegal aliens removed under Expedited Removal, with almost all of those removed being Mexican citizens not claiming asylum. More detailed records show that most invaders arrested were granted “humanitarian release” or transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for release into the interior of the United States, with those being mostly families and unaccompanied minors coming to join family members already in the United States.
