LEGAL IMMIGRATION FINALLY SURFACED IN THE FOURTH GOP DEBATE—at 6:22 when Governor Ron DeSantis attacked it (admittedly in the context of importing antisemitism, but whatever) and, perhaps more important, at 8:20 when Vivek Ramaswamy said: …the Great Replacement Theory is not some grand rightwing conspiracy theory, but a basic statement of the Democratic Party’s platform. Of course this is true, but who else has the courage to say it? One hundred years ago, Lord Birkenhead, the then Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain and a piratical upwardly mobile product of the same socially marginal English school I attended some 75 years later, caused a great scandal by remarking in a Rectorial Address to the University of Glasgow that the world continued to offer glittering prizes to those with ”stout hearts and sharp swords.” By sheer imagination and courage, Vivek Ramaswamy is illustrating this principle. As of course does former Trump aide Stephen Miller [Tweet him], whom I continue to regard as America’s first Jewish president, cf. Britain’s Benjamin Disraeli. Back in August of 2023, American female musicians Gezebelle Gaburgably[Instagram/SoundCloud], 19, and Brynn Miche [Instagram], 23, scheduled a concert in Montreal, the largest city in Canada’s French-speaking province of Quebec, at a small bar venue called the Brasserie Beaubien. They have a small but enthusiastic fanbase in Montreal and 42 tickets were sold before the scheduled performance on November 11th, 2023. Montreal was to be Gaburgably’s first stop in a two-show tour in Canada, the second at Lee’s Palace in Toronto. In a classic case of Anarcho-Tyranny, her Montreal event was suppressed by the Lying Press and Antifa, in tacit alliance with law enforcement authorities. I was there. Gaburgably, whose songs have been listened to millions of times online, is a self-described “e-punk” artist. After three long weeks, the GOP finally picked Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson to replace Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker. In a stunning, though likely inadvertent, admission, the Biden Regime has admitted that it is acting illegally by using their Parole Amnesty to bring refugees into the United States. In Palestine, Israel’s retaliatory attacks on the majority Muslim population of Gaza are forcing civilians to flee their homes. Within the first week of the war, the Gaza Strip saw nearly half of its citizens displaced due to Israel’s e bombing campaign. Gaza is a 140 square mile territory which borders Egypt and Israel. Home to over 2 million, over 40% of the Strip’s residents are below the age of 15, and half of the total population are displaced refugees from previous conflicts in the region. Neighboring Arab countries have so far refused refugees from the war, arguing that a mass evacuation of the Gaza Strip would result in greater Israeli occupation, something that has been resisted in the Middle East since the establishment of Israel in 1947. The United States must now choose its priorities wisely as our leaders grapple with threats they’ve created as a result of long-standing policies, both foreign and domestic: The bi-partisan American support for Israel, which has inevitably helped stoke radical Islamic militant groups throughout the Arab world, and the Democrats’ campaign to replace the Historic American Nation through non-traditional immigration, above all with President Biden’s opening of the southern border. However incredible these warnings may be, a plot by Islamic extremists to retaliate against United States foreign-policy in the Middle East is plausible. Ironically, it may even be facilitated by Jewish Non-Governmental Organizations. On America’s Southern Border, an organization called “Jewish Family Services” operates bus routes which transport illegal aliens farther into the United States. As we’ve reported extensively on VDARE.com, news of Biden’s open borders policy has reached the world. Millions have made the journey to join migrant caravans throughout Central America, including citizens of Middle Eastern countries. It is only reasonable to assume that a percentage of those Arabs are engaged in an active Jihad against U.S. meddling in their region over the better part of the last century. 2023 has seen 151 apprehensions of illegals whose names appear on the FBI’s terror watch list so far. The ideological origins of what we now call wokeness are a common topic for conservative authors. Pat Buchanan’s The Death of the West is probably the most important for an entire generation, and I credit it with starting my political career. However, Richard Hanania’s book is valuable because it attacks the problem from a different angle—that of policy. He argues that power and law set up rules and an ideology (notably surrounding the supposed value of diversity) was essentially invented to justify it. The value of the book is not just in its strategic perspective, but also in its detail. Hanania goes into the specific regulations and court decisions that subvert our entire way of life. “Way of life” is no exaggeration; he argues that essentially all conduct is illegal under civil rights laws, leading to a complete abandonment of limited government and self-rule. Americans really are not free to discuss political issues outside the private home. More than this, any business faces an existential threat from civil rights legislation that can be used whenever the government wants to destroy a rival or political figure. Certainly, this is what Elon Musk is facing, with sudden civil rights lawsuits against several of his companies. Hanania also gives us a guide for practical action, naming specific policies that conservatives could target. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has already blown it when it comes to affirmative action, which somewhat undermines his argument. However, the point is that it is possible and realistic. It can also be done without simply repealing the Civil Rights Act, which is probably politically unfeasible. Paul Kersey and I discuss this important book, as well as Hanania’s idiosyncrasies. Our advice—don’t take the insults against conservatives or immigration patriots too seriously. The issue is too important, the book is too valuable, and we have work to do.
