Are team members not achieving like you'd expect or even want? Are things getting missed? Are you finding yourself getting frustrated with the whole situation and thinking "It's just easier to do it myself?" This isn't uncommon and whilst you might not have the right team members, perhaps the cause is a little more mundane. Have you taken the time to set out clear objectives and metrics for your team members? Why is this important?

"Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm." – Winston Churchill I love this quote even if it's hard to actually implement. In 2015, Amazon released the Amazon Firephone and it failed spectacularly costing the company hundreds of millions of dollars. People were aghast but Jeff Bezos' statement? "If you think that's a big failure, we're working on much bigger failures right now. And I am not kidding. And some of them are going to make the Fire Phone look like a tiny little blip," Hard to imagine isn't it? But what if we took that approach with the mistakes we made? Don't you think it would be better?

Have you ever been so upset or hurt by someone that they consume just about you every waking thought? I have for sure - and someone once said to me, "Why are you letting them live rent free in your head?" Such a great question. Are you letting someone live rent free in your head?

This was something that was said to me when I was very upset by something that someone else had done. In those words, I found words to live by and words to raise my children by. What do you think?

One technique I learned as a young sales person was to break a sale into a series of smaller sales. The other technique I learned was that once I made the "smaller sale" , I needed to stop selling it and not go back tp it.

When someone sends you a request for work, take the time to truly understand the issues and what they're asking for. Be sure to clarify the requirement with the client and determine what the true pain points are.

Before giving people the 'answer' to their problem, it's best to find out what the problem is. Sure, you'll get some sales, but if you want longevity with your client, take the time to find out what they really need.

There's so much more to selling than just saying 'buy myself'. Good sales people understand the importance of developing a relationship first
