It's time to celebrate Feast of Tabernacles! We built our sukkah this week with small trees my husband cut down from our back fence. We decided to build it right on our porch to make it easily accessible for our guests. We decorated with sliced apples, corn stalks, and pumpkins from our garden. Today, I tried to capture some snippets from around our farm. My daughter has 18 Welsh Harlequin ducklings, with a few eggs left to hatch. Our muscovy ducklings are settling in nicely. We had one bottlefed lamb this year who is just about weaned. And once I get this video uploaded, I'm off to let the chickens out for the day. We just added some adorable Muscovy ducklings to our farm. They are almost a month old, but won't finishing feathering out for another month or so. Muscovies are excellent foragers and mothers. One of our first tasks in the fresh vegetable garden is adding some mulch. Normally, when we mow, we let the grass clipping stay on the lawn to keep the soil healthy and protected. I am so excited about this year's vegetable garden! I plan to take weekly video updates to see how it grows and progresses. We managed to fit cantaloupe, corn, tomatoes, pole beans, butternut squash, pickling cucumbers, spaghetti squash, leeks, beets, zucchini, summer squash, sunflowers, several varieties of peppers, cabbage, marigolds, and brussel sprouts.
