US President Joe Biden has called for his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to face trial over alleged war crimes in Ukraine as Western outrage mounts over reports of a massacre near Kyiv.
Kremlin denies Ukrainian allegations of Bucha killings while the United Nations and European Union call for an immediate probe.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says it has become harder for Kyiv to negotiate with Moscow because of the scale of alleged atrocities carried out by Moscow’s troops.
Red Cross says it has been unable to enter the besieged, southeastern port city of Mariupol due to “security conditions” in the area as latest evacuation attempt falters.

Sniffer dog helps Ukrainian army detect Russian explosive devices
UKRAINIAN Emergency Services have enlisted the help of a small sniffer dog to aid its demining unit to detect explosive devices left by Russian troops.
In the video, a Russell Terrier is seen travelling with the unit in Chernihiv, wearing a harness with an official emblem sewn onto it.
When the demining unit reaches a site with an open wooded area, the dog can be seen running, barking alongside his handler, before scratching at the ground, where his human co-worker carries an item back to the team vehicle.
Some Russian troops remained in the northern Ukrainian region of Chernihiv on Monday after pulling back from around the region's main city of Chernihiv, regional governor Viacheslav Chaus said.

Ukrainian President Zelensky says 'Russian butchers deserve only death'
UKRAINIAN President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russian forces of torturing and executing hundreds of people in areas including Bucha and Hostomel, in an address posted to Facebook on April 3.
“I want every mother of every Russian soldier to see the bodies of the killed people in Bucha, in Irpin, in Hostomel,” Zelensky said. “What did they do? Why were they killed?”
“War crimes in Bucha and other cities during the Russian occupation will also be considered by the UN Security Council on Tuesday,” he added.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence released footage on April 3 showing destruction in Bucha following the retreat of Russian forces from the area.
Graphic video released by the Ukrainian military on the same day showed bodies strewn across the streets of Bucha.
