TLD Member Build and Giveaway
Ironsight Army had a fantastic idea! Let's build an AR-15 for one of our own who helps everyone else, but never asks for something in return. This person is absolutely supportive of the 2nd Amendment, but they don't even own an AR-15. Well...a group of do-gooders decide to correct that.

Agilite K-Zero Slimline Carrier Perfection
In todays Agilite K-Zero review, we dig into this brand new carrier and see what new features it has. I want to know if it keeps that same insane comfort of the K-19 plate carrier. I'm also curious to see what interesting customizations Agilite added as we move into their next generation of plate carriers. Do you think we have a new leader? Lets find out!

If you are worried about CBRN threats, the MIRA Safety TAPR is the respirator for you. Being able to don and doff easily while maintaining the best visibility you can is a huge strength of the TAPR.
In this video, we discuss MIRA Safety a bit as a company and then go into the unboxing.
We the go over our testing criteria which includes Comfort, storage and portability, helmet/head attachment, filter options, filter changes, filter seals, and finally the rifle cheek weld test.
The TAPR performed exceptionally well
We hope our review helps with your purchasing decisions.

Again, this is a loadout video focused on our LEO friends/viewers.
First thing is the Wilder Universal Handcuff pouch. This works great for metal hinged and chain handcuffs. No idea if ASPs would work with this.
Next we look at the Wilder Rotating pistol pouch. Great retention and the rotation is nice if you have the belt room. But rotating this is a pain. If you do...just make sure your are SURE it is at the angle you want it.
We then look at my favorite piece, the Wilder Medical Pouch. This is perfect for an IFAK.
After that, the Alien Gear Rapid Force Duty Holster. That will be my go-to holster for all future belt builds.
Hope our LEO friends enjoyed this.

First we take a look at the IFAK V1 Compact. I'm very impressed with the construction of this pouch. If it's anything like their battle belt, it should last a good while.
The contents of the IFAK though are meh at best. They can barely cover MARCH and it's really more like a boo-boo kit than an individual first aid kit.
Next we take a look at the IFAK V2 Standard and this is probably my favorite kit of the three. We see a much needed addition with the CAT tourniquet knockoff and Israeli Bandage. However, the CAT knockoff is not trustworthy in my book. I'd say ditch that and get a real CAT or SOF-T Wide.
The final IFAK is the V3 Extensive. This is more of a car kit and again, I'd ditch the knockoff CAT and get a legit one.
Of the three, I really like the pouch of the V1. Just streamline it and make sure you have a real tourniquet somewhere else on your belt.
I'd recommend buying the V2 if it was me. Great for a PC or an EDC backpack. I'd ditch the knockoff CAT and get a real one, but everything else seems reasonable to me.
We hope this review was helpful in your purchasing decisions.

Primary Arms seems to have found a soft spot in the hearts of the TLD team. We do like a lot of their stuff, however, their first jump into the pistol optic market was...not good in my opinion. They made an optic with a...doctor cut...*gasp*
However, I was genuinely excited to hear they were jumping into the micro red dot market and was anxious to get my hands on this Micro Reflex Sight to see how it does in this arena
In this video, we talk about Installation, Form Factor, Glass, Illumination, and then the catch all “additional features.”
The installation isn’t bad, but PA skimps on the included screws. The screws they include work in this IWI Masada Slim. But not sure how they would do in a Sig or Springfield Hellcat. Cheap fix going forward...just add more screws PA!!!
The Form Factor (size and shape) was the next thing we looked at. There's nothing super special here except this slightly scalloped look throughout the optic. The window is wide enough to get an easy sight picture, but not overwhelmingly large.
3rd area we looked at is the glass. The glass is super clear with a slight blue tint towards the top of the glass. Also, the fisheye is very hard to see on this thing.
4th area was the illumination. This thing could get almost bright enough that you could see it if you were pointing it at the sun. Don't do that though cause you'll hurt your eyes...ask me how I know.
5th we had our “additional features” which is just a catch all. We discussed the water resistance rating...or lack of information about one. Also, the glass is recessed pretty far back in the housing. This made it very easy to rack the slide using the optic
Finally we get into the Primary Arms Lifetime Warranty.
We hope our review of the Primary Arms Classic Series Micro Reflex Sight was useful in your purchasing decisions.

We go in depth on this IWI Masada Slim
We touch on the history of the company and some awesome firearms they've developed over the years
We then get into the ergonomics and looks. We touch on the magazine release and the magazines that are included. We look at this awesome trigger that comes with this firearm. I then show you how to field strip this thing down so you can clean it easier (something I may have neglected). We then go over the optic and iron sight options you have (hint...there are none).
Finally is a catch all where we go over the size and holster options.
We hope this video helps with your purchasing decision. Thanks

Riton Optics has had a place in my heart for years. I have told anyone who would listen that all of my magnified optics were/are Riton Optics. The glass clarity for the price point has been fantastic.
I was excited when they entered the pistol red dot market, and was equally disappointed when Joe shared his insight with the Riton MPRD gen 1.
When I saw the gen 2 had nice improvements over the gen 1, I was excited again!!!
In this video, we talk about Installation, Form Factor, Glass, Illumination, and then the catch all “additional features.”
The installation isn’t bad, but Riton skimps on the included screws. The screws they include do NOT work in this IWI Masada Slim. But not sure how they would do in a Sig or Springfield Hellcat. Cheap fix going forward...just add more screws Riton!!!
The Form Factor (size and shape) was the next thing we looked at. The flow of the optic is great and the removal of the buttons from the gen 1 add to the sleek design.
3rd area we looked at is the glass. The glass is super clear with a slight blue tint towards the top of the glass. Also, I don't notice any fish eye.
4th area was the illumination. This thing could get almost bright enough that you could see it if you were pointing it at the sun. Don't do that though cause you'll hurt your eyes...ask me how I know.
5th we had our “additional features” which is just a catch all. We discussed the shake to wake, the waterproof/shockproof features and the Riton Lifetime Warranty.
We hope our review of the Riton MPRD gen2 was useful in your purchasing decisions.

The Trijicon RMRcc has been on the market for almost three years now and has brought that known durability to the concealed carry optic market.
We learn a little bit about Trijicon as a company and it was enjoyable to see where they came from and how long they've been making great products. Learning that my Bright and Tough night sights from them have been around for almost 40 years was definitely eye opening.
After that, we touch on the installation of this thing. Having it's own footprint definitely throws a wrench into the mix. It's frustrating, but it is nice that Trijicon makes adapters for most of the major micro pistols on the market.
After that, we go over the form factor. At a glance, you'd be hard pressed to determine if this is the original RMR or the RMRcc. The sizes are very similar with the RMRcc being slightly shorter and slightly narrower.
Next is the glass clarity. Very subjective, but the glass clarity is the best I've seen out of the optics we've viewed to date.
After that, we go over illumination. Unlike the other optics we've seen to date, this RMRcc packs a load of illumination features into it's tiny package. It does Auto illumination AND Manual illumination. The Auto illumination works exceptionally well. Very impressed with the NV settings and the "Super Bright" mode
We then talk about some other "additional features" and go over my pros and cons.
We hope our review of the Trijicon RMRcc was useful in your purchasing decisions.

Agilite Six Pack Hanger Pouch - Tactical Fanny Packs Rejoice!
In this video, we take a look at the all new Agilite Six Pack Hanger Pouch to show off some real grey man capabilities. This product was actually designed to work seamlessly with the Agilite K19, or even the new hotness with the Agilite KZero (shhh...no one tell Boaz I got one). So we’ll take the time to look at the Six Pack from a standpoint of just a regular dangler pouch first to see if it’s any good. And then we’ll dig into the covert ops capabilities this thing has and how it can increase the offensive capabilities of the user. I’m excited for this one for sure!

Battle Steel vs Tacticon Armament - 3A Armor Showdown
In this video, we put the Battle Steel Level 3A plates against the Tacticon Armament Level 3A Plates. We shoot them with everything from .22LR to 45ACP and even sneak in some 5.7 ammo to really see if we can penetrate these things. In a world where the most common threat is a handgun, it makes sense to have these plates in your low visibility plate carrier. Let's see how these do!

We start out this out belt with our low rise multitool pouch from Grim Hunter Tactical. This allows us to use our Lilygo meshtastic devices that enable the end user to have encrypted mesh SMS communication. This is great for overall comm out situations or when radio or satellite signals are unavailable/jammed. If you don't end up using a mesh device, this pouch also holds multitools very well.
For our holster step, we went HCM holsters for our custom solution on our Staccato 2011 P with our Holosun 509t, and streamlight TLR-9. I really loved both the custom configuration and streamlined size of the holster to give a sleek and sexy setup without any added bulk.
The whole setup is then connected into a Safariland QLS system into the True north modular holster adapter and 9 toes vastus leg strap. The 9 toes vastus is key here as it adds a significantly higher level of comfort. The true north adapter can absolutely dig into your leg if you don't have a good leg system to support its position.
Moving around, we did our Grim Hunter Tactical Medical cover and 6x6 pouch. This allows us to quickly and easily move or deploy our medical equipment if we needed to render aid or if we were just riding in a vehicle and it was uncomfortable. The 6x6 can then be easily added or removed so you could just throw the same medical kit in a bag for hiking.
Inside the medical pouch, I used the grim hunter medical sleeve to keep all of the bits organized and together. I don't always organize it this way but I love that I can move the sleeve from location to location or from kit to kit and I know all of the bits and pieces are there in an easy to retrieve package.
I then use the Grim Hunter Tactical dump pouch. I find dump pouches to be useful but mostly from a video aspect. Your mileage and what you're doing may obviously vary.
Next, we have our black spartan blades Damysus knife with black micarta grip. This is a great balance of quality and cost and the safety latch on the sheath was a great choice. This would work great in both a belt or plate carrier setup....but I'd probably still just throw it in a bag.
Rounding out the setup our esstac mag pouches. I did the rifle mag pouch in the mid length to get a good coke can purchase on the magazine. This mag pouch also has an option for a shell holder or molle on the outside.
Our pistol mag pouches bring a new trick with a magnetic front. This allows the user to have a place to add additional magazines or store tools and equipment while they work. I like this as I'm able to keep my tools retained instead of just tossing them on the ground.
And finally is our Haley Strategic anything hook. This hook allows us to connect up various items like gloves or tools to belt systems that didn't include this feature. The reversible velcro makes it great to add when the setup is.....non-standard.
Hopefully, by seeing some things that worked for me, you have a better idea of what may work for you!

The first thing of note is that both the Holosun 507c and Primary Arms 507c with the ACSS Vulcan use identical housings. They have the same 507c x2 design with the same button placement, RMR footprint, and side loading 1632 battery. The main difference you'll find is the reticle.
As we showed in our 507c X2 video, the housing allows the reticle to be in auto-brightness, manual brightness, and lockout mode. You can also change the reticle design on both models by holding down the minus button.
On the standard 507c, the reticle can be the standard circle dot, only the dot, or only the circle. The ACSS Vulcan reticle can be the large outer ring with the chevron or only the chevron.
Looking closer at the reticles, the standard 507c gives you a 2 moa dot in the center with a 32moa ring along the outside. This gives you an easy-to-see reticle with the quick acquisition ring along the outside. I've used this standard Holosun reticle for some time and I found it to be extremely simple and easy to use.
The ACSS Vulcan takes a different approach and replaces the center 2 moa dot with a precision chevron. This gives you both additional accuracy and a larger target focus as less of your vision is obscured by the dot. Additionally, the chevron itself gives you additional ranging markers that can be used for longer distances.
On outer ring, the 32 moa ring of the standard 507c has been replaced by a much larger ring. Instead of being a quick acquisition ring, the outer circle actually works to bring you back to the center if you're misaligned.
In standard shooting positions, you'll likely never see the outer circle ring, particularly if you have a well-practiced draw for a red dot. But where it does shine is when you draw from more dynamic and realistic positions. Here you may be in an unfamiliar position and the outer ring gives you a quick and intuitive method to drive right back on target instantaneously.
The Primary Arms 507c ACSS Vulcan also does particularly well when paired as an offset red dot as you can choose to turn off the outer ring of the optic if it's too close to the user. Here you then have a chevron that can be used for additional distance markers instead of just a simple red dot that only marks your zeroing distance.
Using night vision, the ACSS Vulcan again shined as it gives the user a tool to find and center the pistol optic easily. With the nuances of focal distances and all the other challenges with night vision use, it's was surprising how well the ACSS Vulcan worked to easily direct the user back to the center chevron.

Taking a look at the Helion, the first thing that will surprise you when it shows up is just how light it is. The insulation material is a synthetic insulation that mimics the properties of down while still being able to keep in heat, even when wet.
The Helion comes in three different selections with the Helion, Helion B, and Helion B pullover. The Helion standard comes with two Polartec side slits that work to off-gas heat when you're active. The slits are designed to relieve extra heat through the cummerbund when worn with a plate carrier. Having the elastic Polartec sides also allows for a more form-fitting overall shape of the jacket.
The Helion B removes the slide to add a tiny bit more cold protection but removes the ability to off-gas additional heat. The bottom of the jacket can also be cinched closed using the pulls located in the pockets of the jacket.
Lastly, the Helion B pullover keeps the design of the Helion B but then adds a large pocket on the front of the jacket, covering the lower zipper portion.
As both the Helion B and Helion B pullover have the bottom retention cord, they have a more boxy style of fit when compared to the standard Helion.
But the most notable thing about the Helion jacket is how well it fits and is designed to fit full size individuals. The sleeves seem longer to keep your wrists covered along with a drop tail and longer overall length to keep your body covered even when you're active....or you bend over.
The Helion's insulation materials also work great to use in combination with a plate carrier and your duty gear. Since the insulation can be compressed down, you can wear the Helion jacket without having to make any modifications to the sizing of your plate carrier.
Looking at the hood of the helion, it can also be compressed down to be placed under a helmet without having to make any changes to the pads or sizing of the helmet.
Also included on the Helion are very large side pockets that easily fit in a gloved hand. These side pockets include zippers to keep the contents secure and the center of the jacket also includes a center locking zipper. Then you don't have your jacket opening up the moment you start moving around.
Another great feature of the Helion is the tension around the sleeves of the jacket. This allows you to wear gloves or larger watches and the wrists form fit around your wrists or other objects to still keep the heat retained within the jacket.
Overall the Defense Mechanisms Helion really surprised me as to what a jacket could do and the expectations I should have when it comes to quality gear.
Hopefully, this video was helpful in your purchasing decisions

Here are the items I ordered
MEPC
Medium (get the large so it fits larger plates)
Molle backing
Multicam Tropic (to match our placard)
5 Inch hybrid Cummebund
QD
Multicam Tropic
Padded cable management sleeve
Ranger green
Taking a look at the front of the plate bag on the MEPC we see a series of smart decisions that take it above its peers. The front of the carrier has 3 loopback molle rows to attach in any personal devices or any patches and indicators you want to affix to the front.
Also on the front is a row of three molle loops placed vertically on either side. This allows you a place to connect in your placards at three different heights. I used the ITW QASM clips at the low attachment point so I have the top section free to connect into a PTT easily for a clean setup.
The top portion of the molle also has a large zippered pocket area that was easy to access even with plates installed. You could easily place maps or documents in this pocket for easy reading.
Moving down the front carrier, we see a large loop back portion to hold your front placards. Now folks with molle pouches may be discouraged but you can easily grab the kangaroo placard and connect your molle pouches to that. It makes for a fantastic setup and shows the versatility of the Defense Mechanisms Modular placards.
Continuing down the bag, we reach the plate bag pocket. The opening is nice and large and allows you easily insert your plates. There is also a retention strap to keep the plates held in place. As we've seen with some other carriers, this also allows the weight of the plates to move upward on the carrier and be better distributed around the entirety of the body. The enclosure flap also closes on the inside of the plate bag to allow for any odd side plates without issue.
Flipping the front bag over, we see the entire backside is lined with a breathable 3d mesh material that is extremely comfortable. It's rare to see this on other minimalistic carriers as you usually only get whatever the back of the fabric is and you just suffer through it.
Moving to the rear of the plate bag, we see the top of the molle section has an integrated drag handle that comes standard with the carrier. The rear of the carrier is full molle as we selected with three of the molle rows in loop back to affix any identifiers. The fully molle backing would allow you to easily integrate into the Defense Mechanisms recondite bag to give you some rear expansion.
The plate bag opening mimics the front with the large mount and plate retention strap but the rear flap also covers the smart cummberbund attachment area. Also similar to the front, the opposite side of the front bag includes the same 3d mesh that covers all contact points of the body.
Looking next at the shoulder pads, these pads connect the front and rear bags together and allow for easy sizing adjustment. I used the padded cable management sleeves and slid these over to allow for some really nice organization of antennas and whatnots.
The cummerbund uses a QD connection that affixes to the front of the placard area, allowing for micro adjustments in size if required. Behind the QD section is the 3 rows of molle with a mesh center. These three rows can be used on both the outside or inside to allow for gear on either side of the cummerbund. The final rear section includes an elastic portion for expansion that then connects into the rear bag via hook and loop.

The day is finally here. Let see if we can hit 1000 yards with a budget 6mm ARC build. And see if, me as a shooter, can get to 1000 yards!

This entire venture started with 224 valkyrie. I wanted to build a low-price AR15 that could reach out to 1000 yards to see if it was possible. Due to inconsistencies with the round and nuances that could not be overcome with the 224 valkyrie round, I was not able to get the accuracy need using the 224.
Then the 6mm ARC hit the shelf and we purchased a Shaw barrel, swapped out our 224 valkyrie bolt and reassembled in the 6mm ARC platform.
The goal from the beginning was to see if you REALLY needed all of the most expensive things on the market or if it really just came down to the shooter. So we built the built with budget parts with a completed rifle cost (optics and all) around $1200 dollars.
To keep it as basic and cost-friendly as possible, I wanted to accomplish this task with off-the-shelf ammo if possible. We used Hornady black ammo as our primary testing but we also did a significant amount of load development using hand loads. So you can see the difference between our tuned hand loads and regular off-the-shelf ammo that you can buy at the store.
Today was the day. 2 years in the making and it was time to see if my challenge was attainable or just a pipe dream.
We started by working our way out from 100 yards to confirm zero and establish our DOPE at all distances. Once we were all set at all our ranges, it was time to test if you can build a budget 6mm ARC rifle that can hit 1000 yards!
