What Happens When California FALLS? Where is everyone moving to??
When the last of the Hollywood celebrities have left for greener pastures, when the Silicon Valley techies have decamped for cheaper environments, when the beaches are no longer crowded with sun-worshippers and the mountains are no longer dotted with skiers – what will be left of California?
A state in decline, that's what.
For years now, California has been bleeding residents. People are leaving in droves, fed up with high taxes, high cost of living, and a generally deteriorating quality of life.
So where are they going?
There is no one answer to that question, as people are fleeing California for all sorts of reasons. But there are some states that are seeing a huge influx of Californians, as people seek out a better quality of life elsewhere.
Here are just a few of the places people are moving to when they leave California:
Texas has been one of the top destinations for Californians for years now. And it's not hard to see why. Texas is a big state with plenty of opportunity, and it's much more affordable than California. The cost of living is lower and there are no state income taxes, which means more money in your pocket.
And if you're looking for a job, Texas is a great place to be. The economy is booming, thanks to the oil and gas industry, and there are plenty of jobs to be had. There are plenty of other reasons why Californians might move to Texas. For one, the weather is much more temperate than in California. It's not as hot in Texas as it is in California, and it's not as cold either. Plus, Texans are known for their friendly and welcoming attitude, which is a refreshing change after living in California. Some of the best cities to consider checking out would be Austin, Dallas and Houston.
Houston is a great city for those who want to be in the heart of the action. It's a huge city with a lot of energy and excitement. There are plenty of jobs and opportunities, and it's a great place to be if you're looking for something to do.
Next on that list is Dallas, Dallas is also known as a great city, and it's been attracting a lot of Californians in recent years. It has a more relaxed vibe than Houston, and there are plenty of family-friendly activities to keep you busy. The cost of living is also lower than in Houston.
Austin is our personal favorite of the three cities. It's smaller than Houston and Dallas, which makes it more manageable and less overwhelming. It's also been voted one of the most livable cities in the US, thanks to its eclectic mix of restaurants, bars, music venues, and parks. And the cost of living is relatively low compared to other major cities.
Here is the real kicker, in Texas as a whole, the average person pays about $1091 in rent. However, this varies drastically depending on the city.
The average rent for a typical person is $1,547 in Dallas, $1,335 in Austin, and $1,139 in Houston.
As opposed to what the average person would pay in California is $1844 a month.
Arizona is another popular destination for Californians who are looking for a change of scenery. The cost of living is lower than in California, and there are plenty of jobs to be had.
The Arizona economy is doing very well, thanks to a number of factors. For one, the state has a low tax burden, which makes it attractive to businesses and entrepreneurs. And the weather is great, which makes it a popular destination for retirees.
But the biggest factor driving the Arizona economy is its thriving tech sector. The Phoenix area is home to a number of tech companies, including Apple, Intel, and Tempe-based GoDaddy. And these companies are hiring; in fact, Arizona has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country.
All this activity has led to robust economic growth in Arizona; between 2016 and 2017, the state's GDP grew by 3.5%. And this growth is expected to continue; between 2018 and 2020, Arizona's GDP is projected to grow by another 3.5%.
So if you're looking for a good job and a great quality of life, Arizona should be at the top of your list.
Some of the best cities to live in Arizona are Phoenix, Tucson, and Mesa.
Phoenix is the biggest city in Arizona, and it's a great place to be if you're looking for opportunity. There are plenty of jobs, and the cost of living is relatively low compared to other major cities with a single average rent in Phoenix being at about $1380 per month.
Next up on the list we have Nevada. There are a number of reasons why Nevada is a top contender for Californians looking to relocate. First, the cost of living is much lower in Nevada than it is in California.
