I Jumped From Space (World Record Supersonic Freefall)
What does it *really* feel like to jump from space? In 2012 Felix Baumgartner took a helium balloon into the stratosphere and skydived back to earth in a specially made space suit. Whilst in freefall he broke the speed of sound and entered a spin which threatened the entire Red Bull Stratos mission... Felix reflects on his achievement and shares what it really felt like to jump from the edge of space.

Super Orion Nuclear Interstellar Ark #trending #viral #shorts
Project Orion was a study of a starship intended to be directly propelled by a series of explosions of atomic bombs behind the craft (nuclear pulse propulsion)
The project was eventually abandoned for multiple reasons such as the Partial Test Ban Treaty which banned nuclear explosions in space as well as concerns over nuclear fallout.
The biggest design was the "Super" Orion design; at 8 million tons, 7250000000 Kilograms it could easily be a city.
One design proposed by Freeman Dyson for the "Super Orion" called for the pusher plate to be composed primarily of uranium or a transuranic element so that upon reaching a nearby star system the plate could be converted to nuclear fuel.

PACE's Instruments Reveal a New Dimension of Atmospheric Info
Two instruments on NASA’s upcoming PACE satellite mission will look at aerosols and clouds – the A and C in the mission’s name, Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem – to help scientists learn more about their characteristics and interactions in Earth’s systems.
PACE’s instruments that will help scientists view features of Earth’s atmosphere are polarimeters, which measure light properties. There are characteristics of light that we can see with our eyes, such as color, but others that are invisible to the human eye, like what scientists call polarization.

2023 Was the Hottest Year on Record
2023 was Earth’s warmest year since 1880, and the last 10 consecutive years have been the warmest 10 on record. But why does NASA, a space agency, look at Earth’s temperature? And how do we even measure global temperature?

NASA | Sarychev Volcano Eruption from the International Space Station
On June 12, 2009, a fortuitous orbit of the International Space Station (ISS) made it possible for an astronaut on board to capture Sarychev Volcano in the early stages of eruption. The volcano is located on the northwestern end of Matua Island, which is part of the Kuril Islands, a chain of 56 islands northeast of Japan. The eruption sent a plume of brown-colored ash and white steam rising into the atmosphere. The plume was so immense that it cast a large shadow on the island. Sarychev is one of the most active volcanoes in the Kuril Island chain. Prior to June 12, the last explosive eruption occurred in 1989, with eruptions in 1986, 1976, 1954, and 1946 also producing lava flows. Watch the video to see how the eruption looked from space.

Hubble Uncovers Water Vapor In Small Exoplanet’s Atmosphere
Astronomers using NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope have observed water vapor in the atmosphere of the smallest exoplanet ever detected. Located 97 light-years away, planet GJ 9827d is approximately twice the size of Earth.
This finding raises the possibility of other planets with water-rich atmospheres in our galaxy. However, it remains uncertain whether the observed water vapor is in a hydrogen-rich atmosphere or if the planet's atmosphere is predominantly water.
Water on a planet this small is a landmark discovery, pushing us closer than ever to characterizing truly Earth-like worlds, and thanks to the Hubble Space Telescope we’ll be able to continue our search for more planets like our own.

Hubble’s Inside The Image: The Eagle Nebula
The Hubble Space Telescope has taken over 1.5 million observations over the years. One of them is the incredible image of The Pillars of Creation.
The Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula, situated in the Serpens constellation, stand as celestial marvels. Composed of interstellar gas and dust, these towering structures captivate astronomers and stargazers alike. Shaped by the potent forces of stellar winds and radiation, the pillars, resembling cosmic sentinels, showcase vibrant hues. Functioning as crucibles for stellar birth, they facilitate the creation of new stars in a delicate dance of destruction and formation. The Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula offer a captivating spectacle, inviting observers to contemplate the profound dynamics at play within our ever-evolving cosmic tapestry.
In this video, Dr. Jennifer Wiseman explains this breathtaking image and how important Hubble is to exploring the mysteries of the universe.
