In this quick video, I talk about an issue I had with the Torrent light mount by Cloud Defensive. It's made for them by Impact Weapons Components and is the same as the Thorntail6 by Haley Strategic. During drop testing of the REIN light, I ended up twisting and breaking part of the light mount. Yes, it's destructive testing however other light mounts have had no issue with this. If you're considering the Torrent mount for some kind of hard use weapon, I believe you'd be better suited going for a different mount.

In this Kalkara Short, I break out the old AR500 Armor Level 3 plate that I previously tested. I was unable to get a bullet to penetrate the plate in the last test, but I didn't have a 20" upper then. Lets see how it does. Kalkara Short is a mini series I want to start doing based on small, quick tests. I tend to ramble in my videos, in addition to liking to go a bit more in depth with details. This means my videos tend to be fairly long, but the idea behind Kalkara's Short is the videos aim to be under 5 minutes. This is the perfect example of that type of video. I don't need to go into any kind of detail, I already did in the first vid, I just need to shoot the plate and show the results. In this video, I test and review the Modlite PLH-V2 handheld flashlight. Modlite has really broke out as a leader in the "tactical" light market, and the PLH-V2 is their more general purpose light head. I do a water submersion test, beam comparison vs a couple Surefire lights, and finally do some more abusive testing to see how durable it is. AR500 Armor, and any other brand of steel armor is often faced with the criticism that due to the spalling or fragmentation, many elitists in the gun community say you might as well not even have armor. They claim the fragmentation of the bullet hitting the steel will blow out the sides of the plate carrier and tear up your arms and neck, so many steel armor companies have liners they put on their armor in order to catch the spalling.
