Why should you stop buying feed from Tractor Supply? Well, if they don’t have what you need when you need it then you can’t buy it! S&L Feeds in Lexington, North Carolina was my local solution to this problem. When you buy from big feed companies you have no idea from what farms that feed came from. You be not be support local families. But buying feed from a local company that gets their feed from a local mill, you are more likely to be help to put food on the table for your neighbors. And because they seem to have a large stock of items, I have yet to arrive to get the common items people get at a feed store and they be out of stock. Do your research, look up milling companies, or feed stores online, and I hope your able to find a local feed store that you shop at! Roasting your own coffee! Sounds crazy right? While you can do this in a pan over an open fire. This is not a requirement to be able to do this at home. With simple home equipment like the Popper it can be pretty easy, once you learn what you are doing. Not only do I enjoy doing this it also saves money as green coffee is cheaper. You put in 3oz of green coffee beans in the device. Turn it on high. Put the temperature up to about 80%. Put the timer on 10 minutes, and let it go. This gives me a medium to (almost) dark roast. There are lots of other opinions of how to use the device and it can also vary with different types of green coffee beans. Be sure to wait 30 mins after it is done before your start another batch. I did not get paid for this video, and I paid for the Popper myself.
