This truck is all original and I am the second owner. The gentleman passed away but, when he purchased the truck brand new in Knoxville, Tennessee. He used it for his painting business in the Oak Ridge area. The bed of the truck is 8'10" with the tool boxes on the side. The racks are homemade that carried his ladders. He use to load a old Wisconsin air compressor into the bed of the truck when needed by a built in crane in his garage. That air compressor was huge and took up about half of the bed. The FC stands for Forward Control and the FC 170 is the longer and bigger engine then the FC 150. The cab over or FC are fun to drive and remind me of the old 68 Dodge van I had as a young man. This Jeep FC 170 is for sale at the current time and is in great shape. The Super Hurricane engine does not run but, comes with a spare engine and parts.

A strong hive is the best defense and their are many traps. But, since you are going to kill the SHB you can try this free technique.

Took the family to the Chattanooga aquarium in Tennessee. it's a really nice place with multiple levels to see all kinds of sea life and river life.

It's best to use a red light at night for honey bees since they cannot see the red light. If you use a white light then they will go towards it when you open up the hive or work it. If you have a light strap to your forehead, it is definitely not a good thing.

You can use a LITTLE smoke to drive the bees down into the hive. I capped the LITTLE, because if you use to much the bees will lift off the frames and may come after you. Not the point of using smoke lol. It makes it easier to pull frames out to inspect if the bees are not in the way. I do not use smoke myself, but everyone does honey bees differently.

This gentleman has a hard time learning at a bee club since he only has about 10% of his hearing. Need to spend a little extra time with him to help him learn why his honey bee hive did not survive. Do not know the true reason why the bees declined in the first place. But definitely saw evidence of robbing of the hive and leftovers of small high beetle poop and some varrora.

If you do not order your honey bees by the end of January. You may not be able to find any bees. You will not get them till the end of March at the earliest. Most come around April or May, so you will have time to order or build your hives.

Trying to pull a bent nail out of a piece of old oak and it did not work out well for my hammer. The nail won the round with this hammer. But, the second hammer won the war.
