Here is a video of the Gerber Devour Spork. Not just any spork either, in a typical Gerber fashion. its a multi-tool. It includes a screwdriver, bottle opener, a can opener, package cutter, and pry bar. I did discuss it has a few other functions that are not generally listed, but are there. This spork is aluminum, sitting at 0.83 ounces, and comes in Bronze, Dark Grey, and Dark Green as well. There is also a titanium version, which is in theory lighter weight, but specifications say otherwise. I have several bulkier knee braces that still from time to time get used, for more specific issues that are not able to be fixed by KT Flex. What is long term food, and emergency food? For the most part they are the same thing. Long term food is food that has a long shelf life, typically needed in cases of emergencies like natural disasters, war, financial/employment loss. There are a lot of ways to preserve food long term, but the 3 most common types are canning, dehydration, and freeze drying. Canning products has a typical shelf life of 1 to 5 years, but can under perfect conditions and preparation, some can last to about 25 years. Dehydrated food typically lasts 5 years, but with a vacuum bag, or oxygen absorber (not all food need an oxygen absorber), and perfect storage conditions, the food can last 10 to 25 years. Freeze dried typically lasts 25 to 30 years, and retains more of the original flavor, and nutrition profile such as vitamins and minerals than canning and dehydration. If you have a storm/emergency kit, and you should for you and your family, atleast 72hours/3days worth of food and water per person is recommended by FEMA and Red Cross. If the emergency is expected to last longer than 3 days, I suppose you can ration your stocks as needed. Most long term emergency food is calorie dense, meaning it has alot of calories, to give your body the energy it needs for emergency situations. By request, here is my review of the Boruit v7 edc light. This is the in-between model of the popular V3 and V10. The v7 is quite a bit different than the v3 and v10 variants. The v7 has the lamps on the wide sections on the flashlight, instead of one on the side and one on the top. The v7 does infact have a plastic belt clip, which the other models do not, but it does not add to the useful purposes of this light. As with the other models, use half the stated lumens as being pretty accurate, so turbo model is listed as 1100 lumens, in reality its closer to 625 lumens. It has a weak magnet on the bottom, and a key ring/lanyard hole at the top. It still has the USB type C charging port, with the 800mah battery. This light does not have the option for the UV green glowing case light some of the other models. Its only currently available in black and camo. @boruitlighting9310 Personally, this is not a light for me. Although small in size, just slightly larger than the v3 model, it falls flat on uses by design. Between the weak magnet, the odd clip placement, and opposing light apertures, it just doesn't make anything easier for me. A personal highlight in my vast collection of books, is this manual by Cresson H. Kearns, called Nuclear War Survival Skills (NWSS). This is the 2015 edition. This is a civil defense manual, researched from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, during the cold war. The main emphasis in this book is on survival preparations that can be made in the last few days of a worsening crisis. What the heck is Dyneema? I hear it all the time. Its a relatively new super fabric that's used mostly in the outdoor sports like hiking, camping, climbing, but also used in bullet proof and stab proof vests. his is a new one for me, I've never seen screw and snap fasteners used together. I've seen regular snaps, like those on jackets, and some bags, but never ones where you can attach snaps to solid materials like wood or PVC. Today we take a look at the Gerber Tri-Tip mini cleaver. Although listed for use in a kitchen or camp side cooking, it also makes a great fire material processor. Here is a cool knife, well designed for tradesman, and knife enthusiasts alike. The Crescent CPK350C Harpoon knife. This is a beautiful knife made with 5CR15MOV stainless steel, which may not be the strongest steel out there, but its easy to sharpen and has decent edge retention. It has a black composite handle, ceramic bearings, and a liner lock. It is a bit heavy at 6.5 ounces, but that's in part to the solid steel frame. This knife is comfortable in the hand, and has adding jimping, on the top of the thick blade, and on the bottom just in front of the liner lock.
