Ep 112 Joshua 5 13-15 Gods side - My side or Not My side
Joshua was taking a look at Jericho which the Israelites were about to attack, when he met the captain of the host of God. Was he on Joshua's side or that of Jericho?
His answer of "No" tells Joshua all he needed to know and sends a message to us today.
Hope it is a blessing for you today.
Peace.

Ep 111 1Jn 4 1-3 Test the Spirits - Question Everything
I have a T-shirt which says "Question Everything" on it. I think it upset some people, but the Apostle John does say to do just that when he wrote to "test the spirits." What does that mean, why don't we do it, and HOW are we to do this?
It's life guidance that is relevant to Everyone in the clown-world we live in today.

Ep 110 Rom 14 17-19 Fight for War or Revolution or Peace
If Faith about fighting over insignificant things? Is there something more important than determining what to eat or drink? If so, then what is that and what do we do? Who is our enemy and how to we fight against it?
Although I do quote Benjamin Franklin in this sermon, who we choose to fight and how are always the responsibility of the one who makes the choice.
Peace to us all in the Clown world.

Ep 109 Phil 4 8-9 Thoughts and Actions of a believer - Complain or Speak Truth
Think on what is good and true which should lead to good and true actions. Today's virtue signalers just complain all the time.
Just a quick analysis of where all of this complaining comes from and how believers are to separate ourselves from the "complain" culture. It's not an easy thing to do in the world of "Subjective Value." But... it's the way of Peace... which we need today.

Ep 108 Luke 24 1-7 Looking for the Living among the Living – EASTER 2024
He is Risen. Christ is King. So many controversies, so little time.
What does it mean to "seek the living One among the dead"?
What does it mean to "seek the living One among the living"?
As with all of these sermons, I indirectly address various social phenomena while trying to teach a Christian perspective on how to manage it all.
Blessings to you this Easter.

Ep 107 Lk 19 41-44 Entry of the Lords Peace - God is not a Moral Hazard
Palm Sunday and Jesus wept.
Why did he weep when he looked on Jerusalem? Should we weep over our own country (if it's in the west... or even if it isn't)?
Not knowing means we won't and can't have peace.
But Peace to you on the crazy rollercoaster week on the Christian calendar.

Ep 106 Gal 6 7-8 – The Believer who reaps what he Sows – Good intentions and The unseen
Reap what you sow is something I often say.
Subjectivity considered; everyone believes they are sowing for good. Does it matter? If our society now is the result of good actions and actions with good intentions, then how do we explain the injustice?
"Sowing and reaping" are explained as well as why it is difficult to sow for good and God. Also discussed is a suggestion on how to wade through all the subjectivity and ignorance to reap blessing.
Peace.

Ep 105 1John 5 19-21 Your Religion and Your God - It is all religion
This week we take a look at Idolatry through a better understanding of "Religion". It turns out that there's quite a lot of content in that religion/idolatry category, e.g. football.
Clarity in the distinction of what is and what is not of God enables us to be more devoted and better witnesses. This devotion must be a good testimony for people living in the darkness of their own ignorance.

Ep 104 1John 4 15-18 – Love which chases out Fear – Love is not an emotion
NEW Shorter Format!
Since I can't find "highlights" of an episode, mostly because it means more editing and I don't have that kind of time, I have moved to a more summary format.
The Love of God is not an emotion. Over the years people in my circle have struggled with this subjective interpretation of Love, but here it is. Understanding that the Love of God is an absolute allows for a "neater" explanation of the passage and Christian life.
Love as Truth chases out the Lies of sin.
Peace.

Ep 103 2Timothy 2 14-17 - Do not quarrel over words - Correctly discerning the words of Truth
Paul wrote not to quarrel over words, but we are to use them correctly. People will often use the in-fighting in the church (even libertarianism) as an excuse not to join in some way. To top it off, many people are in the business of confusing words and their meaning because it is profitable for them.
How does one learn without creating a fuss and devolving into fighting?
Give a listen.

Ep 102 Eph 1 9-10 Unity in Christ – Do we Destroy Diversity to save it
So, how do we have unity when EVERYTHING in and out of church is so divided? I offer a place to start using this passage from Ephesians. We must acknowledge that unity is tricky if we want to avoid superficial or fake unity. You may be happy to know that unity does not require conformity in knowledge or behavior, quite the opposite.
Hope this message is a blessing for you. Peace.

Ep 101 Luke 5 27-32 – The Lord who came to call sinners – Elites and Elitism
The calling of Levi, an IRS agent, includes the critique by some of the Elites of the day, the Pharisees. This week, we take a look at the elites and all of the elitist things they do.
How are believers supposed to respond?
Blessings and Peace.

Ep 100 Phil 2 14-16 Living in a warped generation - Innovation not Regulation
How does one NOT complain when the trend these days IS to complain... about everything. But most things people complain about are not really a problem. Complaints today lead to political activism and legislation. Just say no to this destructive activity and embrace innovation and creativity.
Blessing and Peace to us all!

Ep 99 Hebrews 11 1-6 – The privilege of Faith - What is better than White Privilege
People talk about privilege as if there's only one kind worth having: White Privilege. I have talked about white privilege in Ep 13 and Dollar Privilege in Ep 65 but neither episode addressed the Faith aspect of the concept. So, Faith Privilege, beyond the obvious, what is it and what does this mean for us as believers, as children of God.
May this be a bit of grace for you, today.

Ep 98 1Sam 16 6-13 The Anointed and the Believer - Who is going to save you
This passage covers the story of David's anointing as future king of Israel. It is a foreshadowing of Jesus the Anointed. So, what does this mean for believers today? What do we do, how do we live in service to the anointed?
It surely does not mean we do nothing.

Ep 97 Amos 5 14-15 – The believer who hates Evil and Loves Good
It is hard to know what is good and what is evil these days. Some people have the advantage of the bully pulpit and thus have a louder and more authoritative voice. But the Lord does not leave us in the wind, he does provide for us the means through which we can seek and find Good. It's a blessing and curse, because we now see just how evil things have become... but we press on because we have hope in faith made possible by Jesus.
Peace to us all.

Ep 96 Is 43 18-19 - The New Year the New Thing and Faith
Happy New Year.
Yes... as usual, the message is a bit different from what some might expect from a church. In spite of that, I hope that it is a blessing to you.
What is the "New Thing" and what do we do with it? What do we do with the old? The subjective answers are in the recording.

Some people are beginning to catch on to what RACE really is. So, this episode will review the concepts covered in Ep 8 and offer some bad examples of lazy and thus, bad racism.
In case you feel knots tightening in your stomach, Ep 61 explains why all humor is racist.
Regardless of your reaction, please remember that Freedom is always the way forward.

Ep 92 Col 1 13-20 - The Jesus Believers Worship - The repentance challenge
My mom actually asked that I preach this passage today. I guess I don't talk about Jesus enough. But it's a more theological type sermon about the character and nature of Jesus. One might listen trying to find flaws or points of disagreement; or one might try to find something which inspires.
Hopefully, you will find something to start your week.

Ep 90 Gal 5 16-18 As the Spirit Leads - Lawlessness vs Lawful
"As the Spirit Leads" is an impressive expression in the church world. But how does one know if one actually is following the Spirit? This is especially the case when people believe that "not being under the law" implies lawlessness.
This is my subjective take living as the Spirit Leads.

Ep 89 Mt 23 27-28 Beautiful Inside and Out - Beauty and Virtue Signaling
A sermon about Beauty and Virtue Signaling. Virtue signaling is hypocrisy and it is basicallly a lot of fakery.
So, what is beauty, subjectively speaking, and where can we find, achieve or perceive it?
Hopefully this un-sermon will inspire you as it did me when I was writing it.
Blessings.

Ep 88 1 Tim 4 1-5 Believers who receives all with Thanksgiving - Thanksgiving Sunday
The Apostle Paul writes to Timothy that he should receive EVERYTHING with thanks. Given all of the bad that is in the world, this is a difficult task, but not impossible with faith. How does one be thankful for even the subjective bad things in life?
This is my take...
Blessings and Peace.
