Interesting to find a fuse on the Scout heater blower switch BEHIND the dash and difficult to access if it ever blows.

This Scout will soon undergo rebuilding. Will be removing the body and repairing all the mechanicals. Stay tuned as we go thru each step of the process.

Removal of dash gauges requires dropping the windshield which first requires lifting the top.

Removing the dash requires unscrewing a series of screws. Some of these screws haven’t been touched in nearly 60 years. I had a couple that were difficult to remove. Use this technique to remove tough screws while ensuring you don’t strip the Phillips head slot, and don’t slip off and scratch anything.

When repairing older vehicles, it is easy to mix up fasteners because they are not all the same. Use a makeshift template to ensure all the fasteners go back in their original spot.
