I've gotten this before in the Arcades, but to get this On-Stream was Fantastic!
Another Underrated tune from DDR A Without Question, And the Expert Chart is a lot of fun. It's probably on the Easier Side of 13's, Since the 16ths are Telegraphed, and most of the 8th Patterns are Straightforward and Simple. Worth a Play Still!

To go from absolutely hating to absolutely enjoying a song, it's got to do something absolutely right. And for me, xenon does TWO things right: (1) It's a catchy tune, and (2) has Impressive Expert Chart to go with it. Despite not being 400 Steps long, it manages to cram in some difficult 16th Sections and Technical Footwork in order to keep your on your toes. You will have to keep your head up throughout the song if you are to FC This.
Worth a Play Without Question!

That's Right!
I got the chance to Stream the Alpha for what would eventually become known as Dance Dance Revolution GRAND PRIX for the PC. And My Impressions on the Alpha are pretty positive. Though the Song Options were limited, it DID feel like I was playing DDR A20 PLUS right in the comfort of my own home.
However, after the Announcement and Details regarding the Official Game were released, I am very uncertain about playing it again due to the Horrible Payment System you have to deal with just to get any level of accessibility to all of the songs you may want to play. The Fact that in order to EVEN SAVE your Scores, You MUST Purchase the 'DDR Basic' Subscription for $15/Month is infuriating to me. It's made even worse by the fact that you MUST purchase Tickets through the PASELI System ON TOP OF THAT to even access 'Arcade Premium Play', which functions similarly to A20 PLUS in the Arcades.
You're better off waiting to get chances to play DDR A20 PLUS at your nearest Round 1 or Dave & Buster's... Which I'm crossing my fingers for the FUTURE Augusta, GA Dave & Buster's to have one...
I can ONLY justify DDR GRAND PRIX if you have NO D&B or R1 Locations that you can access, and this is your best means of Playing DDR Without Consoles like the PS2, XBOX, XBOX 360, and Wii.
And Even THEN, it still feels like a stretch.
Which Leaves me with One Question:
Do Scores on this Game Count as Arcade Scores or Console Scores? My Arguments for each are as follows:
Arcade Score: It uses the A20 PLUS UI, and the Gameplay is almost exactly the same as in A20 PLUS.
Console Score: Synchronization Options are a thing, which are Non-Existent in the Arcade Version of A20 PLUS. In addition, this is on the PC, not on an Official Arcade Machine.
If Anyone can provide a firm answer to this, leave it down in the Comments Section.
Now Onto the Song and Chart:
Has it REALLY Been 8 Years since I AA'd this? Man does time fly...
This Song is a Classic, No Question. But it's not something I'd listen to very often. As for the Expert Chart, I don't know if it's just me or the chart, but I cannot get a Good Score on This. In Fact, The Lowest Great Count I've gotten on this is on the PS2 Version of DDR EXTREME, where I got 16 Greats. I'm sure I could go lower if I improve my step accuracy. Otherwise, It's another AA on the List.

The Last AA from the July 25th Stream. It was quite the ride going through all of the songs from DDR EXTREME. (Except for Miracle... Screw that Song)
.59... Heh, it's another amazing Classic. Heck, it took me several years to realize it had been released on 5th Mix, NOT EXTREME. But for what it is, it's a classic, no question about it.
As for the Heavy Chart, it has a Good Mixture of Easy to do and Surprisingly Difficult Steps for a 7. It's not difficult to do, since most of the patterns are simple enough, even on the 16ths. Although do watch out for that Ending, It can be a bit cruel if you're unprepared.
And that's all the AA's from the July 25th Stream. Not sure if Streaming's my Thing, but it will be something I consider doing every now and then.

THAT'S RIGHT! We have a Double Feature to Close Out 2021! I Tackled BOTH the Heavy and Challenge Charts of A (Renaissance) and Full Combo'd them BACK-TO-BACK!
And Personally... I LOVE THIS CHALLENGE CHART. While possessing a little less Standard Steps than the Heavy Chart, the Challenge Chart MORE than makes up for it with Jumps Galore, A lot more Technical Movement, and a Final 30 Second Stream Run that will leave players without Stamina Gasping for Air by the End. This Chart will TEST You if You're trying to go beyond the Standard Level 8's (10-12 on X-Scale) and will PUSH You on a Level 9. Just an AMAZING Chart all-around.
Just One More Video from my Stream on July 25th, and we'll move onto the Videos from the September Stream. Stay Tuned!

OFF COURSE I was going to do A (Renaissance). How could I not? It's another of my favorite tunes from DDR EXTREME, and is honestly quite Iconic.
A lot of people love the Heavy Chart, and I can Understand why. It's pretty straightforward for the most part, and there's nothing here that's incredibly Difficult or Taxing, making it a Great Warm-Up Song for most.
However, I prefer my Warm-Ups to be a bit more... Challenging.

A VERY UNDERATED Tune from EXTREME CS / SuperNOVA. It's such a hokey song to listen to, that I keep thinking it's not good, only to play it and realize, 'Oh Yeah, it's THAT kind of Good!'
As for the Expert Chart, It's not too bad. the 16ths, while odd, are telegraphed into the Song, so it's easy to anticipate them in future attempts. Worth a Play in my Book.

Truth be told, I still prefer the Original B4U over the Beat Mix. It's a Solid Tune, Sure, but the Faster BPM and Lyrics don't mix well from my perspective.
As for the Challenge Chart, It's not too bad, but you MUST watch out for the 16th Crossover as you enter the Final Stretch. It comes out of absolutely nowhere, and it's VERY Easy to mess up if you aren't prepared. Otherwise, the rest of the chart is pretty straightforward.

Ah, Another Classic from DDR EXTREME.
I don't actually remember playing this as much back then as I do now. However, it's still a Good Tune. Not something I'd listen to a whole lot, but hey, it's Catchy...
As for the Heavy Chart... Why was this rated a 6? I get that most of the patterns are absolutely easy, but if anyone's making the transition from Difficult to Expert, that 6 rating is INCREDIBLY Deceiving. Thankfully, this was FIXED in X with the new Ratings, so Level 10 out of 20 makes some sense now.

Probably the Song from DDR EXTREME that I end up playing WAY too much than I should... It's just an alluring tune to me, So OF COURSE I had to play this On-Stream. I'm sure I've done a better score somewhere, so whatever.
Honestly, This Challenge Chart STILL remains deceptively hard for what it is. At least for me, I still suck at a lot of 16th Areas. So More Work to be done here, I suppose.

I've warmed up to this song significantly since I first heard it many years ago. Initially, it sounded spooky and unsettling. Now... It's actually quite a fascinating tune. It's not something I'd play or listen to often, but there is something... Unique to it.
As for the Heavy Chart, It's actually not to bad. The 16ths are very telegraphed and easy to learn, so the only way this is difficult is if you do not see them coming. Otherwise, Not that Difficult to do.

A Song from my Childhood that I'm surprised found it's way into DDR.
However, it is a Song I truly Cherish.
Sadly, I rarely ever hear it played anywhere, as if it is a rejected or forgotten relic of past years, when the Country I lived In was a Country to be Respected and Feared.....
..... I fear those days may be long gone.
As for the Heavy Chart, I think it fits the Song EXTREMELY Well. Although, Nothing Really Stands Out that makes this Chart Difficult or Tricky, Though the Chart does somehow make the song feel like it drags at times. Regardless, this song is DEFINITELY worth a Play.

It's still my favorite Orange Lounge Song though.
Just feels so Chill and Relaxing to listen to. If you haven't listened to this tune yet, Why Haven't you? And What are you Waiting For?
As for the Heavy Chart, It's a Well-Balanced 7, and pretty easy to Full Combo if you know the patterns. The Ending can be janky if you're transitioning from DIFFICULT/Standard to EXPERT/Heavy, but It's nothing that can't be Overcome.

Ah, a Great Classic Song from Years Past.
Considering this is Junior Senior's ONLY Major Single to ever hit the Charts, It definitely bangs for a Song back from a better time. However, I'm glad they didn't show the Full Music Video... It gets Crazy beyond the points showcased here on DDR EXTREME.
As for the Heavy Chart, I'm not sure... It either feels Oddly Synced or has parts where it feels like the Steps don't exactly make sense. I can understand what they were going for with this Chart, but I just don't think it works out. However, it is playable, but I've heard this can be frustratingly tricky to PFC. Otherwise, I think the Difficult / Standard Chart did it better IMO.

You can have your Sandstorm, but I LOVE Music (Bostik Radio Edit). Just an absolute Banger of a Song from start to finish. If you haven't listened to the Full-Version of this Song, GIVE IT A LISTEN!
As for the Heavy Chart, it is ABSOLUTELY SPOT-ON, and it goes very well with the song. Heck, once you get past the odd 16th Jump Segments, the Song becomes a Cakewalk. Absolutely worth a play!

I CANNOT KEEP A STRAIGHT FACE WHILE PLAYING THIS SONG. Every time I hear 'Never Ending Story', I just want to BUST OUT LAUGHING from it. If I remember correctly, the Movie (or Movies) related to this Song were actually BAD. Still, it's in this game, so I decided to play it for the heck of it.
So the Song makes me want to go into a Laughing Fit, but what about the Heavy Chart?
In all honesty, It feels all over the place. At times, it's spot-on, other times it's early, and other time it's lake. It's not consistent, so you'll want to manage your steps carefully with this one. The Chart itself is not difficult, but the timing is what will make it difficult, so be on your guard.

Saying it Straight Up:
THIS is my Favorite Song from CAPTAIN JACK. I remember listening it on Radio Disney during my Extremely Young Childhood Days. When I found out it actually made an appearance on Dance Dance Revolution, I HAD TO PLAY IT. Unfortunately, It was released EXCLUSIVELY to DDR 4th Mix for the Arcades, but it was at least given a Console Showcase on DDR EXTREME US, Complete with a New Beginner Chart, Updated Banner, and even the Music Video playing in the Background!
As for the Heavy Chart, it is LITERALLY a Breeze to play, but it is a TON OF FUN for 3 Reasons:
(1) At 93 BPM, you can take advantage of a faster speed mod.
(2) Most of the Patterns are straightforward and EASY to step through.
(3) There are only 3 Jumps in the entire Chart, and they're VERY Predictable.
So if you're making the Transition from Standard Difficulty to Heavy, Consider Starting Here! Great Chart and Song Overall. ABSOLUTELY PLAY THIS!

Pink Rose... One of the First Songs I ever played on DDR. And to play it again after all these years is just a sweet nostalgia trip. Worth a listen without question.
As for the Heavy Chart, it's probably what makes this song so memorable (For the Right or Wrong Reasons depending on your perspective). It is quite different from the Standard/Difficult Chart, as you have to deal with an Early Half of the Song that has very interesting 16th segments that force you to play differently that most other Heavy/Expert charts around that time. Still, it's not very difficult, and the 2nd Half is oh-so-satisfying to play once you get there.

Simply Being Loved "Somnambulist" is the Next AA from the Stream, and I have to say: This song is UNDERRATED. It is EXCLUSIVE to this Version of DDR EXTREME, and it's quite a shame that it never made to any other releases. The Song is Excellent, and the Chart, despite having a few tricky spots, is simply SENSATIONAL. Worth a play if you have a US PS2. Again, it's a Shame it wasn't put on any other DDR Game besides this one.

Man, It's been Several Months since I streamed DDR, and I hardly remembered Streaming it at all. Still, here we are with 18 AA's from what was a very fun stream that lasted 4 Hours and had it's share of Fun, Frustration, but overall Enjoyable Gameplay. All AA's were on EXTREME, as I ran into Pad Issues playing MAX that I ultimately corrected when I got to EXTREME to a certain extent. I'm still trying to troubleshoot it, but since this Omega GX Pad has been so Frustrating to Keep in Playable Condition, I'm Considering Shopping around for a Better DDR Pad at this point for Console and PC Play. I'm just not sure what it will be, so stay tuned.
Anyways, WILD RUSH. It's a Classic without question. However, I am personally a fan of the Nonstop Megamix Version, which takes out the Dumb BPM Gimmick and instead gives you Both a Song and Chart that Chills you Down and helps you relax into the groove. It's definitely the Easiest Challenge Only Song and Chart in the Game, as nothing about it is that difficult to do. PFC is certainly possible, but I'd prefer to get it in the Arcades.

Shoutouts to my Bro, JonBladen, for Allowing me to use his Switch to Practice some Endless Puyo on Puyo Puyo Tetris 1.
Also, My Apologies for the Random Screen Dimming at 5:00. I believe this might be due to the Laptop I was using, as it has a Faulty Display that Needs to be Replaced. I hope this won't affect the viewing for you guys, but I'll make sure Future Videos do NOT have this Problem.
If I'm honest, this Round of Endless Puyo COMBINED with a Recent Tournament I entered for PTG Weekly on Sunday REALLY made clear to me the Limitations of Stairs and L-Chaining.
Basically, Unless you plan your Transition Early (Something Kiyobi Insisted I start Doing) AND get the Right Pieces for your Stairs Transition, It's going to be difficult, if not IMPOSSIBLE to get a Chain Higher than 5 or 6.
Second, I tend to Fall Back into doing L-Shaped Chains in order to try and setup some kind of chain. But I've found that it has the exact same problem that Stairs-Chaining Has: You've got to get the right pieces or your Chain won't Work farther than 5 or 6.
Worst of All, In most Tourney Matches, Any Chains that are Less than 10 may as well be NOTHING compared to what Better Players can Straight-Up BURY you in. The ONLY way I can possibly defeat Higher-Ranked Opponents is to basically Build a Chain FASTER than my Opponent and HOPE they haven't got something to Counter With. Not a Good Strategy at all.
The Result? I was COMPLETELY Swept out of the PTG Sunday Tournament in 2 Matches to Void & kzN without even Winning a Round.
I've still got a long way to go, but thanks for watching.

The Sequel to I'm so Happy from DDR X2. And it was released a Decade Later on A20 PLUS. Fitting, I suppose.
And it is a Great Sequel of a Song! A Very Uplifting Melody, Combined with Straightforward and Simple Lyrics. Nothing much else to add. Worth a Listen!
As for the Difficult Chart, it is a proper 13. Long 8th Streams with some Pockets of 16th Steps. The only areas to take note of is the middle part where the 16th Steps can throw you off if you're not prepared, and the Final Two Runs which throw in some short 16th Triplets. Otherwise, it's a Fairly Straightforward 13 that is Quite Fun to Play.
And that's going to do it for my 2nd Trip to Round 1 Four Seasons. After the Incident at Dave & Buster's Concord Mills, it's safe to say that Round 1 Four Seasons will be my Recommended Place to Record DDR Footage in North Carolina. It might be some time before I make another run there though, so we shall see.
Thanks for Watching!
