In fact, I focused primarily on the Old Testament because I didn’t want to learn about Him. I’d heard His name at churches for my whole life, 20+ years by then, but somehow didn’t know Him at all and blamed Him for the blandness of my church experiences. But when I asked my friend who was teaching me from the Scriptures, “What’s so special about Jesus? How do we know He wasn’t just another prophet?”, well that changed everything. 11/10/23 Profitable Doom "Fallen From Grace" part 5 When I was younger I enjoyed a computer game where different factions would war with each other for control of a world full of a valuable commodity. It was a strategy game, where the primary object was to always collect this commodity because it was used as money, so if you ran out of it you were broke, your armies would fail, and you’d lose. I never understood why the factories would refuse to build more weapons when the computer’s team was winning. Just because I ran out of money? Don’t they know that if I can’t fend off the opponent, they’ll all die? It seemed like a basic failure of common sense to be thinking about dollars when your life is on the line.
