SARIAYA OLD CHURCH
A few steps from Natalio Enriquez Ancestral House stood the town's church, the Saint Francis of Assisi Parish Church. Same as the other churches in the Philippines, this one suffered a lot, from natural to man-made disasters. The first structure was built in 1599, second was built in 1605, the third in 1641. When the town transferred to Lumangbayan the church which was built in 1703 was destroyed by earthquakes and floods. This event made the people to transfer the town to its present site and the church standing there today was built in 1748.The church has a four-storey belfry that contains old bells and has the main features of the church, the old baptistery. It houses the replica of the medieval Santo Cristo de Burgos or what the church is called, the patron saint St. Francis of Assisi. It is believed to be miraculous and visited by pilgrims from different provinces. It was considered miraculous when it was left unscathed after all the natural disasters and wars that destroyed the church.

LUCBAN OLD CHURCH
Also known as San Luis Obispo de Tolosa Parish Church, Lucban Church follows the style of Baroque architecture with features of Corinthian columns and niches on its facade. Its interiors meanwhile are washed with colorful frescoes on its walls and ceiling. The church was established by Franciscan priests in 1578 and was elevated as a parish in 1595. Lucban Church weathered several wreckages from a fire, bomb, and earthquake, but was subsequently rebuilt thereafter.

Arrow Root | Uraro
Arrowroot, any of several species of the genus Maranta, members of the family Marantaceae, the rhizomes, or rootstocks, of which yield an edible starch. The most commonly used species is M. arundinacea, the source of genuine, or West Indies, arrowroot. This herbaceous perennial, a native of Guyana and western Brazil, is cultivated throughout the West Indies, Southeast Asia, Australia, and South Africa. Its creeping rootstock has fleshy tubers (underground storage organs), and its many-branched stem, reaching a height of 1.5 metres (5 feet), bears numerous leaves, having long narrow sheaths and large spreading ovate blades, and a few short-stalked white flowers. Plants are harvested when the tubers are gorged with starch, just before the plant’s dormant season. The roots are peeled and then grated in water. The resulting mixture is dried to a powder and purified by several washings.
