The story of the movie follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel Rivera who is accidentally transported to the land of the dead, where he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living. Alex’s sister Ava Lynn Deais died on May 1, 2017, at just four months old, after suffering from a kidney disease, according to BuzzFeed. The song Alex performed for his late sister in the video is particularly fitting because it’s about keeping the memories of those we love alive long after they’ve passed away. “My son singing "Remember Me" from the movie "<a href="https://rumble.com/v3zb0h-coco-strums-the-heartstrings-movie-review.html" target="_blank">Coco</a>" to his baby sister, Ava, who we lost this past May “ says Alex’s dad Samir. Samir also told BuzzFeed that watching “Coco” helped Alex understand and cope with Ava’s passing. “He started to ask more accurate and direct questions, and using ‘Coco’ as a reference was a huge help” He's only 4 years old and he understands.
