The Creative Meditation - Mandala Drawing
One way I have found to calm my thinking, shut off the stress, and find peace is to create something. I put my entire focus on my creating and let everything else go. One of my favorite things to draw and color is Mandala symbols.
They can be simple or intricate, but they are always beautiful and time consuming. Not only are the symbols beautiful but they are also used for focusing your attention, as a tool for spiritual guidance, help in meditation or induce a trance.
The rhythmic motion of coloring or drawing the geometric pattern lulls the stress away and centers your mind.
Give it a shot. Take ten minutes and put your full attention to the mandala. Savor the calm that comes over you and appreciate the beautiful image you have created.

Why is being Selfish such a bad thing?
I was reading a book last night and the author was praising his mom for being the most selfless person he had ever met, and it got me thinking, why is that something to be praised? I understand putting aside some of your immediate needs to be able to care for your family, but to be completely selfless? No, I don't get it.
If I was a little more selfish over the last few years I may not have gone through a life shift recently. I am grateful for my journey, it has led me to where I am now, and I know this is where I'm supposed to be. But what kind of mom would I be now if I took a little more time to breathe? What could I have discovered about myself or what financial situation I would be in if I had discovered my purposed sooner?
There is nothing wrong with being selfish, take five extra minutes in the shower. Leave the house and get a cup of coffee you didn't make. Read a book for fifteen minutes. Have a dance party and listen to two of your favorite songs without allowing the kids to change the music. Whatever your heart needs, take the time to cultivate it.
Being selfish isn't always a bad thing. Being selfish can be invigorating.
If you need a little help changing your thinking or eliminating your self-limiting beliefs reach out to me. I would love to help. I am offering a free coaching session so you can see if coaching is for you. Please send me an email at samanthamarcinkocoach@gmail.com.

Creative Meditation - Push Painting
Being creative has always been a way for me to connect with myself, to be able to ignore all the stress and crazy going on in my life, to find joy. And I recently discovered a way of painting that gets my mind off all the chaos.
I call it Push Painting.
It is incredibly simple, all you need is a few paint colors, 1 brush, and something to paint on. I never have a canvas, or thick enough paper, so I use cardboard. I always have old boxes around from deliveries, so all I do is cut off one of the sides, or all of them, and use that as my canvas. It is cheap and easy. Plus, who hasn't used cardboard boxes as a kid to create something new?
The best thing about painting this way? You don't need water. All you do is take your brush, dip it in a paint, "push" the paint onto whatever "canvas" you are using. Next, get another paint WITHOUT cleaning it. This way it give you a beautiful marbling effect and blending of colors. Repeat the process until your entire surface is covered.
If you feel joy when surrounded by flowers, or nature, you can try to create flowers or trees or foliage. If you feel joy around water or the beach, use blues for the ocean and yellow, orange, brown for the sand. It is not about creating a realistic picture, it is about bringing yourself joy and focusing your mind and energy on the positive. All colors have meanings so look into their meanings if you are trying to express a certain feelings or deal with certain emotions you experiencing.
To get the most out of your experience, put some soothing music on, or light a candle. This process is about focusing on the methodical rhythm of pushing the paint onto your surface and keep your mind on creating something new.
Once you have filled your space save the left over paint or continue to paint until you have no paint left. Once your painting is done, put it up somewhere you can see it regularly so the relaxation you felt while creating it can come back to you.
I hope this helps you quiet your mind and get your energy focused on the positive.

An Affirmation a day Keeps you Happy!
No matter how much you work on your mental health, or your positive attitude, sometimes self-doubt and negative thinking pops in your head. One way to combat the negativity when it happens is to first acknowledge the thoughts, then say an affirmation that counteracts them.
The affirmation should be something that you believe in your heart and soul, or want to. The tricky part of affirmations is they are often times filled with thoughts and ideas that haven't happened yet.
I am unstoppable. Is a powerful affirmation, and works for everyone. No matter your situation, circumstances, or dreams you are unstoppable.
Every morning start with repeating "I am unstoppable" as you are brushing your teeth. It may not be long, but if you do it every day, it will become habit, and your brain will start to believe it. As you become more accustomed to saying your affirmation say it more throughout the day.
If you are washing dishes, say your affirmation. If you are walking the dog, say it. If you are in the shower play some meditative music and say your affirmation. Any time you feel you need a boost, say it.
Alter it to fit what you feel you need to work on, or if you have a regular negative thought, such as "I have no money, I can't afford anything" have an affirmation that says "I am surrounded by an abundance of wealth, money comes to me easily and often."
Use affirmations to retrain your mind and keep you moving forward, striving for more, better.

Kids Crafting for Better Adulting! Melting Crayons
When you realize you have hundreds of broken or naked crayons going unused what are you to do? My solution is to give them new life and melt them into a new shape. I use mini muffin tins and in ten minutes in a 200 degree oven, they are brand new crayons.
The kids are always ripping the paper off or breaking the crayons, just for fun, and then getting annoyed when they pick the wrong color. The mystery of not knowing how the crayons are going to turn out, or exactly what colors are being used is part of the fun.
You can use any mold you have, as long as it is oven safe, and the crayons should pop right out. I have never tried melting the crayons in a glass tray, so I can not guarantee the effectiveness of those, but standard non-stick or silicone molds have worked well.
To get yourself into the calming state, turn on the oven light and watch the crayons melt for the five to ten minutes it will take. The crayons melt relatively quickly, so it won't take long to see the changes start to happen. Let your mind stop racing and just watch the melting. Watch the crayons take on a new shape, take on a new life.
After they have cooled, flip the tray over and bang out the crayons, or pop them out. If they are stuck a little run a tooth pick on the side of the crayon to loosen them.
That is all. Simple and useful.

Change what you put in head, and change you mind.
The one thing that changed my life, allowed me to be happier and have a healthier mindset, was changing what I read and watched. I would watch a lot of news, which makes you depressed and anxious. I would watch a lot of crime dramas, even with the happy endings, everything was stressful and angry. And I would only read romances, now I live romance novels, but they stopped bringing me the joy they once.
I switched to watching The Secret and Tony Robbins: I'm not Your Guru on Netflix. I started reading The Law of Attraction by Esther and Jerry Hicks, and Vibrate Higher Daily by Lalah Delia. I started listening to The Life Coach School podcast by Vrooke Castillo, and she changed my life in so many ways.
If you want to be happier, surround yourself with things that are joyful and inspirational. It's like the saying goes, thoughts become things. There is also the cliché, 'Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.' Any step forward is better then never moving at all.
If you don't try because you are afraid you might fail, by not trying you are guaranteeing you will fail, but if you try you may get the chance of a lifetime.
It is all about perspective, all about thoughts.

Enjoy the chocolate!
I was feeling anxious this morning and none of my daily practices were working so I found a beautiful pink bag of caramel filled chocolate. I enjoyed them, without guilt, because I appreciated that the chocolate was giving me pleasure, and when you feel the rush of pleasure the negative feelings dissappear.

Creative Meditation Journaling Day 1
I am starting a Creative Meditation Journaling practice for the next 45 days where I do an art prompt and a writing prompt everyday.
To join along at home all you will need is a 15-20 minutes, a quiet place, a notebook, pencil, crayons, markets, colored pencils, or pens. I would avoid paints unless you have thick sketch paper that won't wrinkle with the moisture from paint.
Todays prompt is "Star Goal". On the top of both pages of your journal write the words "Star Goal". The meaning of Star Goal is a Goal that is so far from the realm of possibility that it is just as likely that you could reach the stars.
Do your art on the left and writing on the right. When you are doing your art give your full focus to what you are creating and make anything that makes you feel excited, hopeful, possible, and a little anxious when you think of your Goal.
If you want to be an actor, you could draw a red carpet, spot lights, or an award. If you want to be a published author you could draw your first published book cover with your name printed boldly.
Do whatever you feel. Whatever you are inspired to do. Once your mind and body are relaxed, your soul will be more open and honest in your writing.
Write whatever your art inspired. Be as detailed as possible to give your dream the most strength to manifest into reality.
No matter what you draw and write give yourself over to the focus of the work.

Frustrated Start turns into a Feeling of Gratitude
My day started amazing, everything I needed to have a great day. Then I tried to switch the seats around in the car and take the five-point harness off the car seat for my youngest. That caused thirty minutes of grunts, frustration, pulling, scrapes, and a little blood. All I wanted to do was go to Target and buy my kids new face masks, it was a very strong desire. But I stayed strong, not an easy task when there is a real reason to go to Target.
Instead of going shopping I decided to have a treat. So I ignored my whole grain toast with peanut butter and ate the last cup of homemade ice cream swirled with all natural peanut butter.
Even with a delicious treat of sugar coursing through my system I wasn't fully out of my funk. I did what I knew would get my mind where it needed to be, I listed all the things I was grateful for. I put my mind in a space of gratitude and went forward with what I knew would bring me joy.
Making these videos, something I never envisioned doing, brings me joy. The possibility of reaching others, brings me joy. The hope that I am helping someone, makes my heart sing. I know my purpose now, and all I have to do to get past the frustrating moments is take steps to fulfilling that purpose.
I hope everyone is able to find the gratitude in their lives, and take a few minutes every day to say thank you.

The Creative Meditation Journaling Day 3
I hope you are enjoying this journaling journey with me. Remember to find a quiet place, give yourself 15-20 minutes to focus, a journal, crayons, pencil, colored pencils, or markers.
Today's art and writing prompt is "Obstacles". Do your art on the left side of the page and your writing on the right.
When you are thinking about your Star Goal, go back to Journaling Day 1 to hear about the Star Goal, think about the things in your life, right now, that are keeping you from achieving your goal and draw it. Remember, it does not have to be a realistic image of the obstacle. You could draw a mountain, a track hurtle, an obstacle course, or even a clock.
Once your mind and body are relaxed and open go on to the writing side and allow yourself to be completely truthful with your obstacles and how they show up in your life. Allow yourself to feel the emotions now so that when, or if, you feel them in reality they won't be as shocking to you. Writing them down will also help you prepare for how to overcome them which will give you more confidence knowing you can handle the disappointment or the setback because you have the tools ready to use.

Intuition, Learn to Trust Yourself!
I have not always had intuition, or at least I never listened to it. But recently I got such an overwhelming surge of adrenaline that was impossible to ignore. I was listening to a podcast about life coaching and after only a couple of episodes I got a tingling sensation all over my body and I knew in that moment that I was meant to pursue a career in life coaching.
Then the second time within a week I got another rush of adrenaline was when I was texting with a woman I had known for a few years, but we had never had much contact other than to say hello in passing. Things had changed this year and we are in a position to have more purposeful conversations. She text me something about no longer being silent about certain situations, no longer fearing the shame.
I don’t know in what way she will impact my life, I don’t know if it was just the inspiration to change my diet or if there is more to her impact on my life. I don’t know if she is meant to effect my life or if I am meant to make an impact in her life.
If you have never had intuition, or never listened to it, learning to recognize it may take a little effort. Start paying attention to your feelings throughout the day. Start listening to your feelings, start focusing on the images or words that stick with you all day. Eventually you will start to trust yourself and understand the sensations that come over you when something important is happening.
Add an affirmation to your day, I trust myself and my intuition is showing me the way. Whatever works for you, but trust yourself, it will take you on the journey you have always wanted to take.

Creative Meditation Journaling Day 2
To begin your journaling today all you need is a quiet spot, 15-20 minutes, a journal, pens, pencils, colored pencils, markers, or crayons.
Today's art and writing prompt is "Motivation". Remember to write the prompt on the top of each side of the page. Do the art on the left and and writing on the right. Keeping in mind your Star Goal from yesterday, what is your motivation to accomplish the goal? Why do you want that specific goal? What is keeping you working toward achieving that goal?
Make sure to do the art side first to destress you mind and body so when you are writing your soul can be completely open and honest.
Whatever your motivation is, what ever is inspiring you, draw it and write it. The more detailed you can be the better. Write as if it already exists, as if it has already come true. Let your mind and body experience the feelings now. It will help you keep focused and keep you going so you can experience those feelings in reality every day.
I hope you are enjoying the journaling experience so far. I will be back tomorrow with another prompt.

Kids Crafting for Better Adulting! Fusion Beads
Kids crafts are not only good for kids and their creativity and occupying their time. Kids crafts can be used to help you become a better parent. In this video I focus on the joys of working with fusion beads. I have spent many hours in a quiet house sorting beads in preparation for my kids projects. Not only and I accomplishing something that will help me in the future, keeping kids happy and creating and occupied, I am allowing my mind to stop racing. When I sit and focus on a repetitive task I don't have to worry about focusing on all other things going on in my life, at least while I am doing the task.
Fusion beads are such a great way to engage your mind and relax your soul. It can become like a meditation, your entire being is focused on one thing, over and over again.
If you have the most used colors already sorted you don't have to worry about arguments or stress when the colors your kids need are not where they need it. And there is nothing wrong with trying your hand at making something yourself.
A lot of times your mind will come up with things your kids would never come up with, and that creates a teachable experience for you and your kids. You get to engage with them in a relaxing and exciting way where they are open to learning things from you. And then they take it and run with it, giving the project their own personality.
Just remember, crafting is not just for kids. Crafting can be used to connect with your kids, to ease your mind, and to help teach kids how to follow instructions.
I will have more crafting suggestions soon. If you are interesting in hearing more about how I can help you find the spark in your life, help you combat the isolation and disappointment of giving up who you were in devotion of your children. If you are a mom that has your own identity but know you are meant for more, I can help with that as well.
I am here to help redirect your thoughts to keep you growing and moving forward. I am here to help you eliminate your self-limiting beliefs. Contact me for a free coaching session, samanthamarcinkocoach@gmail.com

The Creative Meditation Journal - I Can Make You Your Very Own
Hello Everyone. I have been doing a lot of journaling using my own Art prompts and Writing prompts for a few weeks, and have loved every minute of it. I didn't realize how much I missed being creative in that way, and how much my writing changed after creating art. It is more free flowing and open.
So to keep myself more accountable, I created my own journal that starts with the Star Goal and then has 45 (or so) other prompts.
If you are having as much fun as I am with your creative meditation and want a journal of your own, send me a message. You will discover so much about yourself and your forgotten, or ignored, desires that will free your mind and spirit to go after them and make your desires a reality.
I am here creating a community for mothers that allows them to discover and explore their deep burning desires and dreams and help them fulfill those desires with encouragement and acceptance. If you want to join the community and grow as a person, as a parent, and live your best life send me an email at SamanthaMarcinkoCoach@gmail.com, or send me a message here, for a free 1 hour coaching session. I Love Grocery Shopping - Self-Care is Whatever You Want it to be!!!!
I have been seeing a lot of memes lately that say something to the effect of, grocery shopping without the kids is not self-care or going to the store alone is not the same as self-care.
Now, to some people that may be true, but for me I have to say they are wrong. I LOVE grocery shopping without the kids. Anything I can do by myself, in peace and quiet is a form of self-care for me. I get to walk around, slowly, pick the best boxes or meats or veggies. I get to pick oy what I want, and need, without worry that small hands will break something or add an item I don't need to the cart.
If you don't have the time or ability to go to the salon or restaurant, and any activity by yourself is amazing, then ignore everyone and enjoy every second you have by yourself. Enjoying the small things doesn't mean there is something missing from your life or you're settling for something less. Enjoying the small things means you are focusing on the positive, making the best and most of the situations you are in, that you are able to find happiness and be positive in all types of situations.
Enjoying the small things is an amazing way to live. And if grocery shopping is where I find my joy and peace, then I will happily, and with a pep in my step, to the store.
