What is it about the toilet brush that she doesn't like?

We recently took our first trip back to Mississippi to check on the training progress with our new Lab puppy, Tater. We had taken her back to Mossy Oak Kennels in West Point, MS about 4 weeks previous to start her initial training. Our goal is to not only hunt with her but also run her in AKC and HRC hunt tests like we did with our previous lab, Jetta. It had been a while since we done any work with handling a dog in a hunt test situation so it may be a little bit to get back in the swing of things. Mossy Oak also has a little different training style than we had been accustomed to so we'll have to work on adjusting to some of the new commands, etc. Looking forward to the journey again!

Jetta is really becoming quite the boat dog and is loving sitting up in the front with the wind blowing in her face. This trip, she was excited to visit with Cozy and his family while they were down here at #LakeCumberland on their houseboat trip. She was anxiously sitting up front watching when she knew we were getting close to the boat. LOL.

It was pretty interesting watching this swarm of fish while at the dock. Jetta was pretty entertained by it, as were we, for quite a while.

After many years of contemplating leaving Ohio and heading to warmer weather, we're finally taking the leap and are now in contract on this beautiful property in Georgia! Looking forward to having guests come to visit!!

Anyone who knew Brad knew of his passion for Ohio State Football. We had a great time in New Orleans despite the loss to LSU.

Enjoyed a great day at EPCOT eating and drinking around the world. The reference to the Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Birds, is funny especially since the main character, Tippi Hedren, had played a character named Marnie in a movie with the same name along side Sean Connery.

First cruise with Brad to the Bahamas. Unfortunately didn't enjoy the diving experience like I hoped he would. The rest of the cruise was great though. LOL.

Mark and Richard at Redmark Kennels take on Miller for hunt test training. They run Miller to see what skills he already has and what areas to focus attention. Miller looks like he has the making of a pretty good dog. :-)

It was great to be able to attend the first day of the #HRC 2021 Spring Grand in Grenada, MS and watch Mike Dulaney and Mo pass their 1st Land Series. They did a great job! The judges did have to remind Mike that it is required to breathe though. LOL! When you run dogs at this high level, it can be a bit more stressful than usual...

Pro trainer, Jim Manson, gives words of advise to Dan Chaney during a training day. A few members of the West Central Ohio Hunting Retriever Club were on hand for training.

Mark Watson, owner of #RedmarkKennels, demonstrates an AKC Master land test with his dog Candy. Mark also judges #AKC Hunt Tests. He said this test "ate some dogs up".

Working with Amos to pull off a Mark and send him on a Blind before going back to pick up the Mark.

One of the best decisions we made was to keep Jetta at #RedmarkKennels to go through their beginner #puppy training program before bringing her home. Everyone loves a well behaved #dog but particularly for anyone running #dogs in Hunt Tests, line manners can keep you calm or frustrate you. Starting off right as early as possible is the best thing you can do for your puppy.

Our Lab's first time going to Lake Cumberland with us when she was less than a year old.
