Light rolling with a first day student. My goal is not not completely overwhelm them, but show the effectiveness of BJJ. He came in with several years of wrestling. He's been interested for awhile, and I finally convinced him to make the leap!

Here is my 1st Place Match from 2014. They say angles make strangles. He had a deep RNC on, but I took the angle away which saved me. That slight movement did more than all the defense most people do. I took the win by points. Even better since I had just come back from a knee scope to fix a year in my meniscus.

A little takedown to submission I picked up from Sambo Fusion on YT. Front headlock, to a knee tap. As long as you keep the tricep and turn the body you get a nasty choke. This is one of my favorite responses to my opponent trying to leg weave my half guard. Especially being a bigger guy, it tends to be very unexpected.
