I found this nice bit of prairie to camp on my way to Estes Park.

These wild burros are descendants of the burros used by the Spanish and later the miners.

After a long walk in the desert near Why, Az, I finally found an artifact. This was used to grind seeds and grain on another stone called a metate (meh-tah-tay) . This is called a mano (mah-nyo).

A large obsidian outcrop near Riley, Oregon where the ancients came from far away to collect material for knives, points and other tools. Shards (debutage) everywhere!

Taking out a large oak along with it's stump the safe way when you only have a backhoe. An excavator is the better way.

Here's a sweet corps of engineers campground on the Arkansa river about 13 miles east of Pine Bluff.
