Hilarious cockatiel won't let owner use laptop
Sunny the talking cockatiel is the apple of his owner's eyes. He loves to be the center of attention. This little guy is beloved and he knows it!! He does nearly everything with the family. And if you don't include him, he will find a way to include himself whether they like it or not.
One day, Sunny was hanging around with mom as usual while she played on her phone. But when she got too involved on Facebook for Sunny's liking, the jealous little bird jumped into action. His little stunt speaks to the high intelligence parrots have.
Sunny is determined to stop mom from giving her attention to the phone. And he has found a solution. Sit right in front of the phone's screen and block her vision. Back and forth he turns his head in sync with his moms' who tries to see around him. The little stinker knows exactly what he is doing.
As his mom giggles and tries to ignore him, Sunny comes up with another strategy. Talking with all the cuteness in the world. He chats it up with the phone saying hi to it and telling it what a pretty bird he is. Next thing you know he starts to sing a song that he and mom always sing together. "All of the pretty ferrets sing, la la la". But mom refuses to sing along. The spunky little bird retaliates when his owner gently tries to remove him so she can see the phone. And then we see why she didn't try to remove him in the first place. That cutie has a sharp beak! Way to go Sunny, you win!

This Cockcatoo Thinks He Is Chewing Gum With His Owner
Cockatoos love and need to be included in every day family happenings. They are as intelligent as a small child and need lots of enrichment and to be out of a cage as much as possible. Most often a parrots play is creative. But they are also well known for mimicking sounds and behavior. Onni the cockatoo likes to mimic people as a way to join in on their fun. Which is exactly what the kooky cockatoo does.
Onni the cockatoo jumps right in to engage his owner by "chewing gum" with her. Of course the parrot isn't really chewing gum. But the crafty bird has figured a way around that to join in on the fun with mom. He mimics the owners' behavior by "chewing something" as a substitute-- a spitball!
Mom blows a bubble for Onni and he is blown away (no pun intended). You can see the wheels turning in his head as he tries to figure out how he can blow a bubble as well. He can't figure it out and chews even more emphatically. All the while the bird keeps whipping his head around and stares right into the camera as if he is saying, "Are you seeing this sorcery?!" The owner opens her mouth to show the bird what she is chewing on. And he is enthralled with the gum in her mouth. He is nonetheless amazed and continues with chewing his gum, er spit, with her!

Curious Cockatoo Can't Resist A Bearded Dragon
Bearded dragons and cockatoos both need plenty of sunshine and out of cage or enclosure time. Sebastian, the lizard, loves to spend time on the window sill to enjoy the view and the warmth. And so does Onni, the teenage cockatoo.
Normally the two are always kept separate because Onni would certainly hurt him unintentionally ... or not. However, Onni is obsessed with the little lizard. Rebecca. the owner, explains that whenever it's Sebastian's turn to be out, Onni rattles his cage and screams incessantly. A cockatoos scream can be equal the decibels of a jet engine!
Rebecca came up with the idea that if she let Onni see Sebastian and what he was all about, he would get over some of his obsession and his screaming would lesson. She says, "I thought if I took some of the mystery out of the equation Onni's behavior would improve. They both love to sun bath, so I thought that would be a nice place for Onni to see Sebastian up close".
Bearded dragons are inquisitive and sweet creatures. On the other hand cockatoo's can be anything but. They are balls of feathered energy with the intelligence of a small child, and can be quite naughty. The dragons curiosity doesn't hold a candle to a parrots.
Sebastian is curious about Onni when they meet. Onni is cautious, but his eyes quickly light up and he moves closer. Like a child, he can't resist touching him. He reaches out and gently touches Sebastian and pets him. But then Onni moves closer and wants to also mouth him. A birds beak is like a third hand to them, so it's natural Onni would want to do that. Given the fact that that beak can break a stainless steel chain in half, Rebecca discourages him. She see's that Onni's behavior gets more intense and he signals that he is getting irritated at Rebecca trying to control the meeting. And so she ended it.
Did the little experiment work? "No... just no", Rebecca laughed. "Sadly it didn't get better or worse. Onni wants what he wants. He wants all of our attention. And he wants that lizard!

Baby cockatoo leans how to use his voice and wings
Onni Cockatoo is 4 months old and is being hand raised. He is still considered a "chick" ... just a baby. And as a baby he is discovering a whole new world, as well as his voice! He sounds like an adorable squeaky toy when he experiments with it.
The baby cockatoo becomes so excited by the different sounds he learned to make, he jumps around and nearly falls off his human dad. In the midst of the excitement he flaps his wings wildly with joy. You can hear the power of them beating in the air. He then discovers that if he flaps his wings hard enough he can experience some lift! Again, he nearly topples over as his owners giggle. Who wouldn't giggle? And who wouldn't shout with glee finding out that you can squeak out so many different sounds let alone learn what your wings are supposed to really do.
Today, this "little" cockatoo is all grown up at 5 years of age and he adeptly flies through the house, even with clipped wings. The owners explain that his powerful wings are clipped slightly so if he gets outside he can't fly away for miles at a time. "I must say, it sure was cute when he learned to use his voice for all different things...even to talk, but it sure wasn't cute when it evolved to the typical screaming that cockatoos do!"
Umbrella Cockatoos, native to the Indonesian Rainforest, have a scream that is equal to that of a jet engine. It can certainly cause some ear damage. "We use ear plugs sometimes," says his human dad, Scott. This natural behavior makes keeping them in apartments or condos impossible and dealing with it can be challenging even under the best circumstances.
It's so hard to not to have an ear to ear grin watching this little guy flap and chatter with complete joy. What a wonderful thing to experience and see.

Baby cockatoo learns how to play fetch with owner
Onni is a baby umbrella cockatoo who has a special relationship with his human friend. At age 2 Onni is very much a baby as cockatoos can live up to 80 years in captivity.
Here his brother, Chet, started to teach him how to play catch. To make it easy, Chet used a sock. Given the fact that cockatoos have the intelligence above that of a 3 year old human, it is no surprise that he caught on very quickly. In fact it seems that he got a bit bored in the end from doing something so repetitive.
Cockatoos need a lot of attention and out of cage time as possible to be happy and healthy. Engaging them in games such as this one is a perfect example of the enrichment they need.
The umbrella cockatoo, also known as the White Cockatoo, lives in the rainforests of the Indonesian islands. Due to human encroachment and deforestation, these cockatoos are endangered in the wild.

Cockatoo Tells Owner What a Hard Day He's Had
Living with a cockatoo is like living with the 3 year old child. Literally. They have the intelligence and emotional intelligence of a human 3 year old child or more. Given the fact that they live up to 80 years, that means you'd be living with a toddler the rest of your life. And all of the challenges you have to deal with raising a human child are the same as with in a large cockatoo.
Onni, the 5 year old Umbrella Cockatoo, is bonded to his daddy. Bonding to a single person is a very common thing. When his daddy isn't around, Onni acts like any other kid enjoying his day with toys and time spent with his mom. But when his daddy walks through the door, it's a whole different story!
As soon as Onni's daddy walks through the door, he proceeds to tell him all sorts of tales about how hard his day was and how mean mommy is. And his daddy falls for it every time as seen here in this video. But then we see what truly happened during Onni's day. It was filled with playing a toy instrument, with playing games, and enjoying cuddles.
Look at the face his daddy gives the camera after Onni tells him how bad his day went because of his mommy. And watch Onni peer at his mommy behind his daddy's back with defiance.

Eating Hawaiian ice with a split tongue!
He can do a trick most of us can't. Eat a Hawaiian ice with only his tongue...
We all love our icy cold treats. Whether they be ice cream, popsicle's, frozen drinks, or any of the other forms, most of us eat them in the same way. When we aren't using spoons to scoop them into our mouths and letting them slowly melt into a heavenly bliss, we take our time licking them to savor the awesome goodness. Either way, the frozen goodies always get to the same target... our mouths.
Chet Stout loves to do 'tongue tricks' for his friends. And this one is a real doozy of a trick!

Cockatoo ends up ordering hilarious items through Alexa
Onni the cockatoo is quite the Internet sensation, known for his tap dancing and insane reactions to his daddy coming home. But now this talented bird has added another skill to his list. Shopping on Amazon with Alexa.
Onni is a 4 year old beloved baby umbrella cockatoo. His parents enjoy using the Amazon Echo to listen to music and to ask what the weather is, but that is about all they know how to do with her. Apparently Onni knows how to get Alexa to do much more.
One day, the owners heard the bird mumbling in the next room. Then they heard the ever so familiar voice from Alexa say, "Okay, I'll add that to your shopping list". So they dashed into the room only to see Onni sitting in his cage and looking innocent and Alexa quiet. Onni's parents have never ordered a thing in their lives. They have no idea how to open Alexa up to shop or make a list. There is no way Onni could have picked it up from them. So they thought it was just a fluke.
Later, The owners did learn that you can make Alexa "fart" on command. Thinking back to when Onni accidently ordered something on Alexa, they got the idea and thought it would be funny to teach their bird how to make Alexa to fart. They tried and didn't quite get the reaction they expected. Turns out poor Onni is terrified of Alexa's farts.
Ah, but the story does not end with the failed farting venture. Weeks later, the couple heard Onni talking to Alexa again. And again they heard Alexa loudly and clearly confirm something being added onto a shopping list. The couple had seen people request Alexa to recite a shopping list back to them. On a hunch they tried to get their Alexa to to do it to see if Onni had really created one. Well, turns out that when Onni activated Alexa to take his orders before, it was no fluke.
Onni has had a virtual shopping spree with Alexa over time. The list is as follows:
Fart
Fart
Hello
Eggs
Onni's parents still have no clue how to activate the shopping skill on Alexa and use it to buy things. They'd rather stick to asking her to play music for them. "I think it's funnier if we don't learn how to open up Alexa's shopping skill and leave it up to Onni. I just hope we don't get a bunch of farts delivered to our door"

Cockatoo shows beloved friend happy dance on surprise visit
Onni the baby umbrella cockatoo is a four year old male who is going through some difficult phases in life. He is entering puberty and because of that he can be very moody and even aggressive. It isn't always snuggles and kisses for everyone. But you can always count on this unpredictable animal to have happy feet when his human girlfriend shows up for a visit.
It's always the same routine when Erin shows up. Onni displays and fluffs up his gorgeous white plumage and runs about stomping his feet to do a sort of tap dance for her. He always breaks out into a little game of peekaboo. He gets so excited here he keeps forgetting to say the word peekaboo to her as he scrambles back and forth on the couch to hide behind pillows and pop up to surprise her.
But his favorite game of all is one he only plays with her. And you can see why. Erin has quite a number of piercings! And this is one of the things Onni finds absolutely fascinating about her. He has learned to waggle his tongue back and forth across his beak in efforts to imitate Erin when she runs her tongue across her teeth with her piercing. He is quite successful at it. Sometimes he is so good at it he can imitate the clacking noise the piercing makes on Erins teeth when he wags it.
As said, cockatoos go through many stages in life. The most difficult is puberty. The feisty birds can become very moody, scream a lot and even bite. Onni has chosen just a couple people who he will be safe with. Oddly enough, Erin isn't always safe around Onni. Onni becomes so excited and out of control he tries to literally attack her most times. But Erin is highly experienced with birds luckily and so she can engage in close intimate play with this bird.
This baby, yes Onni is still a baby, means happiness and luck in Finland. And that is exactly what he brings to this world through his fantastic videos on the internet with his famous stompy feet and 'Lalala" song. As stated he is a challenge to raise and has required complete dedication from the family. He carries a message for the world. "Think beyond the cage" for your pets and yourselves. These birds need plenty of space and need to be out of cages as much as possible to be happy and healthy.

Daring seagull eats live baby shark
Usually a stroll along the beach of Ocean City, NJ is a peaceful non eventful one for Rebecca and Scott Stout. But this day was anything but, and luckily Rebecca had her phone on her and was quick to whip it out and capture what appeared to be the impossible.
Seagulls of all sorts are part of the Jersey shore experience and most enjoy the sight and sound if them. However, they have become quite a nuisance in recent years on the boardwalks. The gulls have become out of control with aggressive behavior on the boards as well as the beach. So much so that NJ has hired East Coast Falcons to help with the problem.
That's right, NJ is battling birds with ... birds. Falcons, hawks and an owl are being flown up and down the area to deter what locals consider pests. " It has really been working", Stout says. "These gulls have been seen to snatch food out of babies hands right from the strollers. I adore the animals, but it really has become quite an issue".
Back to the beach and the Stout's quiet little stroll. They were enjoying the sound of the waves, the late afternoon breeze, and were watching tiny sand pipers darting back and forth between waves when in the distance something caught the their eyes. A large herron gull ran out of the water with a fish in it's mouth. "I was so excited. It was a neat thing to see a gull hunt for its natural food and not feast on boardwalk scraps. So I whipped my phone out to film him. But then my husband shouted it was a shark!" The very idea seemed impossible. But when Rebecca zoomed in on the bird, sure enough the bird was wrestling a thrashing baby shark up onto the shore.
The scene was both shocking and exhilarating. It seemed like the thrashing shark was too much for the gull to handle, but he wasn't ready to give up yet. Scott tried to run up on the gull to save the shark but his wife stopped him. Rebecca says, "I really thought he might leave it anyway and I was fascinated and couldn't stop watching or filming this crazy sea gull."
Anyone who has lived among the large seagulls in Ocean City can tell you how fast and stubborn they are. "Heck I've seen one snatch a large piece pizza right out of a ladies hand and fly off with it. They can be determined," she said. "So I was pretty sure if my husband tried to chase the gull away, the bird would just scoop it up and fly away with it whether he was going to be able to eat it or not. In that case it would die for sure." Scott disagrees and felt bad for the baby. He wanted to try to save and release it.
Then the unimaginable happened. Other gulls spotted the prize and as they tried to swoop in the gull picked up the live thrashing shark and swallowed it whole right in front of their eyes!!! Due to it's size the tip of the sharks tail was still sticking out of its mouth when it flew away leaving the Stouts stunned by what they saw and with a blurry but remarkable video.

Did you know that cockatoos can whisper?
Most people think of talking abilities when they think about parrots. But did you know a cockatoo and some other birds can whisper? Onni is a 4 year old baby Umbrella Cockatoo who has been learning to exactly that. He loves nothing more than to whisper sweet nothings to his owner and human mommy, Rebecca Stout. She says it is now one of his favorite activities and ways to communicate with her. Just look at his determination in this video clip!
Watch how Onni puts his foot up on his human mommy's mouth to feel how her lips move and to feel her breath in an attempt to figure it all out. Rebecca says that the first time he did this he was very confused, but he was also absolutely fascinated by her whispering. He was relentless in trying to "talk" without using his vocal cords. But he has nearly mastered it now. It seems he has the technique down and all he has to do is learn to enunciate the words better. Can you make out what he is trying to say?
The notion that a cockatoo can learn to whisper should be no surprise. Although cockatoo's are not often known for exceptional speaking abilities like some other types of parrots, their intelligence and problem solving abilities surpass that of a 5 year old child. Their emotional intelligence can reach that of a 3 year old and because of that their bond with their owners can be intense. As you can see, regardless if a cockatoo can speak well or not, their desire and ability to communicate is off the charts.
A cockatoo's curiosity, stubbornness, and intelligence make them very challenging to live with. They are not for the feint of heart or inexperienced. They require special care and an incredible amount of attention for them to be happy and healthy. Most of all, you need to be ready repay their love and loyalty with a lifetime of commitment. These cuties can live upwards to 80 years old!
Onni is an Umbrella Cockatoo. These beautiful birds originate from the rainforests of Indonesia. Because of human encroachment and loss of habitat they are critically endangered. Illegal capture and the sale of these wild birds world wide has also contributed to their decline in the past. Responsible captive breeding has reduced this cruel practice greatly and has even helped increase the population. Even so, Rebecca says that far better to adopt from a bird sanctuary. Cockatoos are one of the most abandoned birds because of their difficulty and long lifespans. There are many sitting in shelters just waiting for love and a home of their own.
But be forewarned... who knows what secrets of yours that they will share!

Kid with split tongue eats ice cream in bizarre fashion
Chet eats ice cream in the most unusual of ways because he has a split tongue. Chet doesn't have to eat his ice cream in this way, but it sure is fun. What fun is a split tongue without doing split tongue tricks after all?

Cockatoo gets surprise lesson while learning to use whistle
Many things in the world are new to Onni the four year old umbrella cockatoo. And that includes this ceramic bird caller. His owner, Rebecca Stout, introduced the water whistle to the bird who is considered a small child in both human and cockatoo years. His wonderment over the whistle is absolutely endearing!
However he took his owner by surprise when he took things to a whole other level beyond what she ever imagined. He tried to make it work the same way exact way she did! You can just see the intensity of his watchful eyes while his owner prepares and works the whistle. After careful contemplation, he reaches for and holds the whistle in a great effort to blow it like his human companion. When he finds that he can't, he then changes his approach in the most creative way. He attempts to mimic the sound of the whistle instead. But he is not satisfied. And so he makes attempt after attempt to figure out a way to make it work. His determination is mind blowing.
But then Onni and his owner are taken by complete surprise by a little helper. A cockatiel, named Sunny, lost patience and stepped in. It wasn't good enough for him to copy the warble of the whistle though. Instead Sunny bursts out into song with a whistle like voice. The first song he belts out is "Nights in White Satin". But when he watches Onni fail at blowing the whistle again, he changes his tune to a more exuberant song, "Would You Like To Swing On A Star". Both birds are brilliant in their own right.
Many studies have proven that cockatoos are as intelligent as a 4 to 5 year old human child over all. These sweet and beautiful birds have the emotions of a three year old child. And their creative problem solving and crafting abilities can surpass that of a 7 year old! This is why owning a large cockatoo can be such a challenge. It takes life long commitment to have this species in your life. They should be out of the cage as much as possible for stimulation and enrichment. Not to do so leads to the cockatoo being tragically depressed and neurotic. Rebecca says that her message to people is to "think outside of the cage" to make their lives as happy and healthy as possible. Onni can live well into his seventies, so that leaves his owner with a lot of challenges in her future. But there is always Sunny to help along the way!

Hilarious Cockatoo Refuses To Go To Bed
Onni, the baby Umbrella Cockatoo normally watches TV in bed with his owners before he goes to bed. However this night was different. Normally he resists going to bed a little bit like any human child. But this particular night he went to an extreme to avoid it. When his mother reached for him to take him to his night time cage, he quickly jumped into the arms of his sleeping father. He hid, or thought he hid, behind the blankets. Unbeknownst to him his head was the only thing hidden. He thought since he couldn't see his mother, she couldn't see him!! His whole fluffy body was visible and his feathered butt was sticking right up into his sleeping dad's face. Onni absolutely couldn't resist taking a little peek now and then to see if his mother was still there. Meanwhile his dad is snoozing away totally oblivious to what's going on making this quite the comical scene. Eventually his mom did coax him out of his fathers arms, but he awoke when he felt the warm feathery pillow moving. At this point he quickly and unconsciously grabbed Onni pulling him back into his arms. After all feathered pillows are so comfy. This only made Onni more resistant to leaving. It took some patience, but eventually he did come out from under the covers long enough for his mom to snatch him up. Look at the innocent face as he nonchalantly gives himself a scratch. How did his owner resist the cuteness to put him to bed? More importantly how did his dad sleep through all of the tickles of his tail fathers in his face?!
It is vitally important to note that one should never, ever sleep with a bird. Onni wasn't sleeping in bed with his owners for the night. He was sitting in bed with them watching tv. As soon as his father fell asleep, his alert mother was quick to take him away. Sleeping with a bird will not end well and often ends tragically with the birds death. This is true of any pet bird. So beware.
Umbrella Cockatoos are not good pets for the average person and require a dedicated owner that has educated themselves or receives
guidance about their special care from an experienced owner. These birds can live up to 90 years! Although they are often seen in the pet trade, the sad fact is that these magnificent creatures are on the endangered list. This is because of human encroachment and loss of habitat which is located in the rainforests of Indonesia.

Parrot Waits For Dad To Cross The Doorstep And He Is So Excited
Dog owners all know the joy of coming home from a long day of work and being greeted by their dog. Those initial moments when they go nuts overhearing their footsteps are unlike anything else! They wag their tails, jump around and lick you from head to toe — but do you ever think that other animals show the same insane love and excitement toward their parents? Apparently, some do.
Onni is a 2 year old baby umbrella cockatoo who absolutely adores his human family. He is the center of their lives and they are his, too. Every day Onni patiently waits for his owner to come home from work. Somehow the little guy's internal clock tells him when that will be and he paces the window sill waiting for that familiar car to pull into the driveway. And every night the adorable bird absolutely freaks out when it does!
Onni is definitely one of those pets who radiates happiness when Dad walks through the door. When Onni sees his dad walking up toward the front door from the window, he screeches with excitement. Incidentally, “Onni” means “luck” and “happiness” in Finnish. It makes sense why this bird is so loved and loves so much in return! As soon as Dad finally gets into the house and shuts the door behind him, Onni flies over and lands right on top of him. The two embrace and you can immediately tell that these two are best friends.
That, ultimately, is the beauty of being a pet parent: each and every pet has their own way of showing how much they love and miss you. They love us unconditionally, and have no reservations about showing their feelings to the world!
Flying creature sweethearts are specific individuals. Much the same as individuals frequently call canines "doggos" or "puppers," fowl proprietors are stricken with their "birbs."
Furthermore, it's not hard to perceive any reason why. There is a huge amount of assortment in the fowl world; you can obtain anything from modest, fidgety finches in impartial hues to extensive, splendidly hued parrots who can (and will) rehash the things you say.
They have an identity, as well. Cockatiels and parakeets are genuinely basic pets and can be fantastically amiable — particularly when hand-raised.
A few parrots act out and out human. They perceive their kin and get eager to see them in a similar way a pooch or kid is glad to see a parent return home. Be that as it may, the talking is a standout amongst the most charming and alarming parts of their vocalizations. They're one of only a handful couple of animals that can impersonate so convincingly that individuals regularly confuse their feathered creature's babble for a genuine person.
Cockatiels re cherishing, energetic, have the knowledge level of up to a five-year-old with the personality of a two-year-old and bring happiness and laughter into the lives of all who have the pleasure of knowing one.
What do you think about this amazing buddy? Tell us below in our comment section!

Emotional Cockatiel Demands Smooches By Mimicking Kissing Sounds
Sunny is an unusual cockatiel that grasps language and doesn’t only mimic speech. He often gives people and animals commands to do things rather than vice versa, because he likes to be in charge. One of the many things he does is call others over when he wants their company.
In this video, Sunny is sitting on a table, interacting with his humans. The cute parrot tries to mimic speech and calls the three-year-old little girl Nina over from across the table. Apparently, he couldn’t resist her cuteness so he calls her over and demands kisses! Can you believe this guy?
Listen as this friendly parrot calls Nina to come over by saying ‘come here, come mere, mere, mere’, so that when the little girl approaches him he starts making a kissing noise, which means that he wants to receive smooches! How adorable!
This overly affectionate cockatiel loves to get kisses and cuddle with owners. This is the most popular pet bird variety in the world, second to the budgie. Maybe they are not known for their ability to learn tricks or to ‘talk’, but it is not totally unheard of for a cockatiel to whistle back to it’s companion.
Cockatiels are known as very sociable birds, so they might get depressed if you leave them alone for long periods of time. They may hit it’s head against the cage, pull its feathers, refuse to eat, or become angry. You may not think parrots are very affectionate, but the truth is quite the contrary! This loving parrot loves kisses and literally wants to shower his owner with kisses and love!
How can you say no to this precious bird when you can clearly hear him say ‘Come here, mere’ and proceeds making kissing sounds? Nina, give that bird his kiss already!

Funny Cockatoo Want's It's Tongue Pierced!
Onni, a baby cockatoo, seems to want his tongue pierced! Every time he see's his friend, Erin, they play an funny game. His friend waggles her tongue piercing across her teeth and he copies her. The problem? Onni doesn't have a piercing, so he can make the cool sounds she makes with the piercing against her teeth. That's another thing. Birds have no teeth. But this silly cockatoo doesn't care. He won't give up trying to make the same sound with his tongue and beak. After he's done copying his friend with his mouth, he walks over to his mother seemingly to ask for his tongue to be pierced. When his owner firmly says no, he flips his head around walks off in defiance.
Onni is a two year old umbrella cockatoo. This type of cockatoo is native to Indonesia. Sadly, they are endangered in the wild due to loss of their environment. However, it's good to know that this species of bird has been captive bred for many generations so that they will live on in spite of human encroachment.

This Silly Cockatoo Wants His Tongue Pierced
Onni the baby cockatoo has a hilarious reaction to his friends' tongue piercing. He is completely fascinated by it and mimics her as she wags her tongue. But he can't figure out why he can't make the fun clicking noises as the piercing rakes across her teeth. He tries and tries his best, often looking towards his human mother to make sure she is watching. But he is determined and won't give up!!!
Onni is a Finnish word that means luck and happiness. He is an umbrella cockatoo. Cockatoos are extremely inquisitive and intelligent. These playful, cuddly birds are nearly extinct in the wild due to human encroachment on their habitat. But Onni lives the life of a prince with his owners. It seems he will go on dreaming of the day he can get his tongue pierced ... but his mom ain't having it!

Listen To What This Brilliant Talking Cockatiel Has To Say
Sunny is called The Talking Cockatiel Extraordinaire by his family and friends for a several reasons. One is because he speaks in an intelligible voice rather than with the more common squeaky and whistle-like voices that you typically hear from these sweet little parrots.
The eleven year old bird also has a very large vocabulary for a small Cockatiel, which is also unusual. But his owners claim that what makes Sunny truly extraordinary is that he has a little basic understanding of language. He doesn't just mimic sounds and words like other parrots do. Unless he is prompted heavily such as in this video so he can he show off some of his speaking ability, he mostly uses his vocabulary relevant to situations that he is in and to give commands.
His owners say one of the most surprising things he's done is to regularly greet his owner with 'Hi, Scott' rather than just repeating back 'Hi, Sunny' to him. Nobody refers to his owner as 'Scott' in the home when they say hi. He also won't say it unless his owner enters a room and never at any other time or to anyone else.
One of the many things he's done to use his speaking ability is to call the other birds in the home to him by repeating 'comere comere comere' until they come. Because his owners have never had enough time to properly train him to say more than a few words or to train him to do tricks, they have no idea what he is truly capable of doing. His large vocabulary and the use of it alone with other things he does was mostly learned by himself. What is his favorite word? Touchdown!

Cockatoo Demands Bubble Gum
Onni is a baby umbrella cockatoo who is completely fascinated with bubble gum. He is inquisitive about the pink bubbles that come out of his owners mouth, but leary of the alien looking things at the same time. He can't figure out where the bubbles come for the life of him because when his owner lets him look in her mouth ... there is no gum to be found (she hides it under her tongue). He can smell something yummy from her mouth and see's her chewing it though. He wants it so bad but every time he goes to take a peek, he see's nothing in his owners mouth and every time a bubble appears his owner won't let him touch it. At one point, the gum comes flying out of the owners mouth when she tries to blow a bubble for him and his reaction is priceless. As his owner blows more and more bubbles, he gets braver and braver and tries to pop the bubbles. In between the bubbles, if you look very closely you can see Onni copying his owner chewing the gum and making believe he is chewing the gum with her.
Onni means happiness and luck in Finnish, which is exactly what this little guy brings to the world. He is an Umbrella Cockatoo, or White Cockatoo, found in the rain forests of Indonesia. Sadly the cockatoos have lost most of their habitat due to human encroachment. They are critically endangered in the wild. However, they can be found in the pet trade due to generations of captive breeding.

Cockatoo Parrot Gets Really Excited When He Sees An Egg For The First Time
Birds are amazing creatures. All bird lovers will agree. But parrots are kind of special. With more than 350 species, all parrots have a few traits in common. For example, to be classified as a parrot, the bird must have a curved nose (beak) and its feet must have four toes, from which two point forward and two that point backward. Take a look at this beautiful cockatoo being terrified from an egg. Hilarious!
Onni is a baby cockatoo. His name means happiness and luck in Finnish. This happy little bird is experiencing the world for the first time. One of those firsts was seeing an egg! We don't know why he reacted the way he did. Perhaps it was unnatural and scary to see an egg out of a nest and in a human hand. Or maybe it was because he just plain never saw one before. Either way, his reaction was bizarre and totally unexpected to his owners.
When the egg is shown to him, he stands tall, puffs up like a giant piece of popcorn and sways back and not even looking at it. He was probably making sure that the unknown "danger" saw that he was bigger than it and so he seemed more threatening. Well, it worked because the egg "disappeared" from view. After that Onni happily cuddled up to his human brother for comfort and refuge.
Umbrella cockatoos are often called White Cockatoos and are found in the rainforests of Indonesia. However, due to human encroachment and loss of habitat, it is critically endangered. These types of cockatoos can be found easily in the pet trade because of captive breeding. They are an extremely difficult pet to keep with specialized needs. One of which is they need out of a cage as much as possible and need as much interaction with humans (and or other cockatoos) as possible. They are as intelligent as 3-year-old children and very emotional. This leaves to be very challenging to care for.

Adorable Baby Cockatoo Doesn't Want To Sleep
Onni is a baby cockatoo who adores his human daddy. Large parrots are extremely intelligent and cockatoos in particular are very emotional with the intelligence of a toddler. And that is exactly what Onni is acting like in this video. A bored toddler. We all know too well what it's like when a toddler doesn't want to sleep and whats more, won't let their parents sleep either. But like many parents, Onni's daddy is extremely patient. He doses in and out while Onni paces back and forth on top of him in hopes that he will wake up. Poor Onni even tries to lift his owners hand repeatedly to get him to pet him. The owner abides for a brief time or two before dozing back off to sleep again. When that doesn't work he walks back and forth on top of him and and hops around him in hopes of getting his attention. Onni has a wonderful home full of toys. But what fun are those when you have a giant human to annoy? How dare he sleep! At one point the white fluff ball tries to entertain himself on the couch but not for long. He's quick to run back and stare into his daddy's face inches away as he sleeps to no avail. In the end gets a wonderful suprise! Onni's human brother stops in for a visit and Onni is absolutely thrilled! He flies to him and melts into his arms. And dad ... is finally left to take his nap.
Onni means happiness and luck in Finnish and is an umbrella cockatoo. These large white parrots are found in Indonesia. Sadly they are critically endangered due to human encroachment in the rain forests and the loss of habitat. However, umbrella cockatoos are frequently found living as pets due to captive breeding over many generations. These playful and lovable animals need space, patience, and a LOT of time. They need special care and an incredible amount of attention. As you can see in this video, they feel as if they never get enough attention and so that need has to be met for them to live happy, healthy lives.

Onni means happiness and luck in Finnish which is exactly what this cheeky bird brings to the world. However he is not from Finland. Onni is an Umbrella Cockatoo. The Umbrella Cockatoo, also known as the White Cockatoo, is from Indonesia. Due to the aggressive encroachment by humans into its only home in the world, it is now critically endangered.

Cockatoo Finds A Huge Crow Outside
Onni is a baby 2 year old umbrella cockatoo. So many things are new to this young bird. He takes great joy exploring the world with his family. One of favorite past times is to sit on the window sill to soak in the sun while watching the happenings outside. On this particular day, he found a huge surprise outside... a big black crow. Normally any bird would be terrified of a huge flying bird because typically they that would be a predator such as an owl, hawk or eagle. Birds innately know which animals are predatory fear them even if they've never seen them before or have other birds to teach them. But cockatoos in particular are brilliant animals. Despite the fact that Onni has never seen a huge bird flying around outside other menacing hawk (which he fears and retreats from), he somehow knows this is a different kind of large bird that is not to be feared even though it looks so similar from a great distance. He is elated over seeing the new friend and the first thing out of his mouth is, "HELLO BUDDY". He follows up with some other things such as hi and much more, baby garble included. Can you make out some of the things he is saying in his great excitement? He is disappointed when his friend flies away, but his owner assures him he will be back another day. You can bet this little guy will be on an acute lookout in the future for his new found friend.
Onni means luck and happiness in Finnish which is certainly what he has brought into this world.

Cockatoo serenades owner by singing 'I love you'
Onni is a 2 year old umbrella cockatoo who is always exploring his world and loves new experiences. He has learned to tap dance, which is unique to his species. His new skill is singing, and not just singing with typical "bird" sounds, but singing like a human. His owner has made up and taught him a special song called the 'I Love You Song'. Onni enjoys being rocked back and forth while sweetly singing to his owner. He can't always clearly say I love you while singing it at the same time, but his attempt is simply adorable!
Onni means happiness and luck in Finnish. Which is exactly what this sweet soul brings to his family!
